Hey guys.. i need to help my friend recover his bike. The bike is not starting but the bike does crank. Also there are no service centers available. Any idea on the stuff we should check on the bike?? Or take parts from here just in case. The bike has run about 30k.. also the place is about 160kms away.

Of course not.....sorry to bother you guys asking it again. Am not gonna do it myself as i will mess things up. And i thought someone who did it can help. Thats all.Originally posted by s1d View PostDude, we have already told you regarding this just a day or two ago.
Anything apart from what is mentioned in the service checklist is just add ons provided by the ASC for them to make some extra money on the side.. these include 'teflon' coating, engine oil additives, tire sealants etc.. I also gave you some links to go thru regarding the tire sealants. There is no compulsion to do it at the asc, its your personal choice if you want such a treatment and if you want it to be done via the asc or outside.
Just get the oil and oil filter changed, air filter cleaned and a water wash. That's about it, unless you have other specific issues that should be looked in to.
Pl take time to read thru the posts before asking redundant questions tapped from your mobile. Or are you expecting every member to give you a reply to your questions ?

What does the display read ? Any warnings, error messages, what are the lights that are lit up ? More info please..Originally posted by iBerry View PostHey guys.. i need to help my friend recover his bike. The bike is not starting but the bike does crank. Hopefully it has sufficient fuel.
Next check all the fuses. (located under rear seat, refer owners manual)
Have the battery checked at a local battery dealer.
If you have a spare spark plug, swap and check. Also check the wire that connects the spark plug cap, could be a bad connection..push it in
Otherwise call the ASC, they might be able to guide you over phone.. otherwise tow it to the asc. I wouldn't risk getting it fiddled by a local mech unless either you or him are competent enough to do basic diagnostics on a duke.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Thanks for the info s1d.. cant tell what the display reads cause the bike is a few hours away in a one horse town. We'll leave tonight to get the bike.. all i know is that the bike cranks to start but sounds as if something is wrong. Also the nearest service center is about 200 kms away. I somewhat know my way around a bike but not really competent. Dont know what we'll do once we get there.

Today i have my duke for service.... They said it is optional but highly recommended to do tyre sealent....n an optional teflon coating altogether cost extra 2k, and i said told them to do the basic things to do.
They quoted 1600 including oil change.

Interesting notion that what's the difference between a divorcee and an ex? Both are expensive with varying degree of holes in the pocket.Originally posted by Vysakh.M.S View PostWhat is the main difference between free service and paid service?? Is it labour charge?

I hope you got the point. Just for gags.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Re: KTM 200 Duke
The asc's (of every company) here in Hyderabad usually add up something called 'consumable charges' irrespective of consumables (if any) used. The word consumables itself doesn't have any concrete definition from the company itself (it could include the grease, petrol, water, soap etc that is used during the service.)Originally posted by Vysakh.M.S View PostYea i got the point....as my bill quoted labour charge too....why call free???
But if your bill clearly mentioned it as 'Labour' , then do shoot an email with a copy/pic of the bill to [email protected]
And remember one thing, there is no such thing as a 'free' meal or service
.. just be careful to not be looted.

What do you mean by "sets"..??Originally posted by Pritesh Patel View PostGuys the sets of the duke is very hard can anyone recomend me some mods for it, and where can i do it in kolkata.
If you are referring to cone set, then they can be adjusted by adjusting the huge bolt at the middle of the handle bar.

hope this helps: you need to put some effort to get it done.Originally posted by Pritesh Patel View PostGuys the sets of the duke is very hard can anyone recomend me some mods for it, and where can i do it in kolkata.
Enjoy the videos and music that you love, upload original content and share it all with friends, family and the world on YouTube.
If you want something simpler, just get an inch of foam added. Most local guys who do the seat cover stuff would be able to do it.
He means the seat i guess.Originally posted by wallpapers123 View PostWhat do you mean by "sets"..??
