I feel with sane riding you can easily get 30plus in city riding. I never got below 30kmpl..and i am not talking about meter indications. I checked with odo everytime.
Tell us the difference bro please in terms of smoothness of the engine at speeds above 100 ??

For city ride without a doubt d200 is better than the 390.
You will love the 390 for the below reasons
      1. Cruising in 6th gear at 120-130 all day all might
      2. Metzeler tyres are magical. They just refuse to skid, be it dry or wet conditions
      3. ABS on the 390 can clearly be felt when you hard break, it has never fish tailed till date.

You will hate( dislike rather) the 390 for small issues like hard clutch, low gear in traffic.

Smoothness wise i feel 200 was better simply for the fact it has shorter gears, taller gears in the 390 means you need to maintain a certain rpm if you want it to sound good.

In city a 200 obviously makes better sense. But what about the vibes at the foot pegs and engine/ tank area where you hug your thighs. ??

I jave been reading a lot about such vibes disturbing riders. Well I never faced any such vibes that were disturbing/distracting

Thanks bro for the feedback. Been using my D200 for a similar period of time and now thinking of upgrading.

390 will be a good buy. More so if you are going to be touring more than city rides.

Hey guys its 6 months im riding my d200 and iv covered 2400km so should i change my engine oil on my third service. This will be the scenario after my third service that il not cover much km so should i opt for thier package for three service or do it manually. Does the bike really need service even if its not covered much km but passed days alot . Ya i want to say that less km does not mean i dont ride it i ride it everyday just for commuting to college...

Irrespective of how less km you have done, kindly get the services done the asc on time to keep warranty intact. Oil change is not mandatory if you haven't covered enough kms (oil change interval is every 5000km) . you can get only the oil changed whenever you hit the 5k intervals.
I had the engine oil on my d200 changed to motul 7100 on day 1 itself after just 4km i think (because the clutch side had to be opened up to replace the gear shift shaft)
During first service the mech was like 'saar not needed to change the oil since we did it on delivery and its motul' -- I anyway got the oil change done at first service along with the oil filter change.
So yes, the service center will accept (and should.. had a similar case with a honda too.. they themselves told me not necessary to change oil because it had covered only 1200km) if you do not want to change the oil if the required kms are not covered. My personal preference is to change the oil at least every 6-8 months max even if its not covered enough km but been used almost every other day for short spins.

So, today i got the front brake pads replaced under warranty. They were causing a high pitched squealing noise at slow speed especially while coming to a stop and only when they got hot i.e. after using the front brakes in traffic for say like 10 mins. The pads had enough material left (done only 2100 km in two months now) , and they decided to replace it under warranty. No noise so far in the 15km i've done this evening in stop go traffic, and I've signed on the job card with a comment saying 'under observation for 1 week' --i do not let them just simple 'close' the job card/case.

Teflon coating another scam.. imo not at all required.just use a decent automotive shampoo to wash and then wax. Armorall , turtle wax, waxpol, sonax lots of brands to chose from.
Good luck with the replacement digital meter.

My chain and sprocket are up for a replacement since they have covered 18000 Kms. I was wondering since we need to change the chain with both the sprockets with it, is it possible to install 390 rear and front sprocket for better acceleration without any changes to the rim.
I'm yet to ask the mechanic but has anyone tried this before??

Owner says, first his alloy broke and now hole in frame. If this is true ( i mean if its not hacked into) , then KTM has to seriously improve the quality... Damn, hole in frame is not a small issue

If its a 2012- early 2014 model then no. If its a late 2014 model then yes. Models released before September 2014 had four holes in the wheel hub and sprocket but newer models have six hole ones like the 390. If yours is an old model then you'll need to replace the rear rim to install the 390 chain kit.

Yea mine is a 2013 model with the four holes. And yes that's exactly what the SVC mechanic said. Maybe the sprocket upgrade will have to wait till the rims crack since I really don't want to spend money on the new rims.
