Re: need help with duke 200 , irritating sound
that sounds like some rattle and not a buzz.. check if the sprockets are properly tightened. open the plastic cover over the front sprocket and check too.Originally posted by Krunal Thacker View Posti have attached a sound recording of what kind of noise is coming from the chain . this is after i have cleaned and lubed my chain this afternoon.
was this sound recorded with the bike on idle or during driving ? If its during idle, then the chain doesn't move right.. so it might be lose sprockets that are rattling or i suspect this noise might be from the timing chain or due to the valve clearances.

Re: need help with duke 200 , irritating sound
This is the rattling sound from the front . the sprocket was changed 300 kms back . this sound is when idle and me rotating the back wheel . SVC here are a waste of time to be honest . none ready to help . I will go to the SVC today and check . will update the thread .Originally posted by s1d View Postthat sounds like some rattle and not a buzz.. check if the sprockets are properly tightened. open the plastic cover over the front sprocket and check too.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Had an insane accident almosy a month back. Basically it was a crazy speed wobble at speeds over 110 kmph and I flew off the bike. Both me and my love suffered a lot of damage. I broke my leg [emoji23] she broke her leg guard, mirrors and RHS leg assembly. Haven't seen her for a month now, probably another month to go :'( crazy abrasions all over my body, legs arms and back but they've been healing good. No stitches to show from the accident though, which is supposed to be a good thing :P first thing I picked up from the road was my foot brake lever, and then limped to the side of the road [emoji57] I'm not proud of it but I walked in to the ER almost unconscious
it was a crazy experience and we're hoping to come back stronger !!
Looking forward to buying some riding gear and shoes to keep the abrasions away. They are really pissing off [emoji13]

Get well soon mate, we all learn our lessons. You should be happy that this was not life changing. Even a minor spill can be life altering if you are unlucky. I had a crash on the palm beach road in Mumbai once. Zero gear, save the helmet. Minor abrasion on hands, but could clearly see proper abrasion marks on the helmet and visor. Bike had chassis bent massively and had to get a new one. I was lucky that the only protection called for was which I had. Next time may not be as lucky.
What was the nature of high speed wobble? Rode over a stone or a bump or a pothole? The hero always RIDES into the sunset!

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Damn. Good to know you had your helmet on. Believe me if you will, I didn't have my helmet on, was wearing shorts and a jersey, and my favorite slippers [from Bangkok] (which were nowhere to be found). I never ride without a helmet. It was the second time I had no helmet, and the second time I met with an accident. Only this time it was much, much worse. I remember hitting my head hard once while sliding but wasn't enough to cut it open or damage it internally. Thanks to my light weight, Im safe. But thank god, it wasn't anything really serious or life changing, as you said. Shit like that can happen in a blink of an eye. Only precaution we can take is to wear good gear and ride with extreme caution and awareness.Originally posted by Doga View PostGet well soon mate, we all learn our lessons. As for the wobble, it was an abrupt elevation on the road, much like those bad speed breakers, which lifted me up in the air and my tyre pressures were kind of at their maximum points so.. Landed. Front started wobbling like crazy, then I thought I got it under control for a second maybe and then whoop, I'm flying.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Ignore footwear, body armor. Helmet is the basic but the main protection unit that one should wear even if travel distance is just few 100 meters. I don't understand people taking chances like this and putting themselves under risk and their precious family too. Even having a helmet and riding gears, still at speeds of 100+, there is no guarantee that you are safe. In general I will drop to a safe speed of 60-70-80 if I find the road is slightly bad or having patches or if I'm not able to clearly see the road.
If you can't see the road, you shouldn't be riding at those speeds. I can't imagine without helmet. I hate the air pounding on my face and eyes getting hit by dust and I prefer helmet always. I wonder how you guys ride @ 110 with bare eyes, while I can't even do the same @ 40+ speeds
Forget riding gear, get a good quality helmet and never leave them, tie it
. Get well...!!!

Re: KTM 200 Duke
thanks. I know what you're saying. I have 2 helmets. A KYT and an LS2. I NEVER RIDE WITHOUT MY HELMET. However, this thing happened at midnight when we were getting back food after playing a football tournament where I won a lot of awards and won the whole tournament so the happiness and joy I guess clouded my mind. It was a straight empty road so I thought why not. What could go wrong? I've ridden on that road a million times by now but it was always in heavy traffic in daytime but this, I did not see coming. It happens. I needed this. It was an eye opener. Thank god not a closer [emoji23]Originally posted by jbm_guy View PostIgnore footwear, body armor. Anyway thanks for all your concerns. It means a lot. You'll never see me riding without a helmet. After I recover obviously [emoji13]

Re: KTM 200 Duke
The reason for reinforcing again is, I see the dukers always rush on roads. yday on a highway saw a duker with pillion going as fast as 110 (I was about 90 on my odo) with no helmets, on T-shirts and slippers. Sadly I had to slow down and give myself a pray to keep them safe. I don't know but I see many dukers and Fz on road with these costumes oftenOriginally posted by RoKit4 View Postthanks. As per [MENTION=75352]jbm_guy[/MENTION] said seeing those so called bikers/riders on road trying to race against me or any other biker, I start thinking when all this shit will come to an end?Originally posted by jbm_guy View PostThe reason for reinforcing again is, I see the dukers always rush on roads. yday on a highway saw a duker with pillion going as fast as 110 (I was about 90 on my odo) with no helmets, on T-shirts and slippers. Youngster/teenagers riding duke, cbr, r15, RC, FZ, etc without even a helmet makes me pray for them always. If there parents are capable enough to buy them a bike then why don't they force then to wear at least a helmet. In my college everytime I see many guys in groups laughing at Me and my friends who enter wearing riding gears and pass comments to demoralize.
God bless those jerk-ass!! I hope they will soon realise the importance gears

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Don't worry. I've seen guys like this too. It's sad.
I didn't need my helmet that day because I spent the whole day from morning to night in the field just beside my house. And I never sit on my bike without my helmet. Even if I need to go to ccd or the market about hundred metres away. It helps me focus as well

So can I upgrade the battery to a more powerful one? Does anyone have an idea which one would fit and what else would I need to look into?
