Re: KTM 200 Duke
Yeah, but also sometimes those could be workshop guys who take it out for test drive, but what actually they do is ride harder rather than testing for getting issues fixed. I have seen it many times in a reputed service center for Duke in Chennai. Even those small (maybe <20 years) cleaners or labors rev the duke so hard to take it inside the service place from the customer point.Originally posted by xplod566 View Post

that is the general attitude of most young mechanics at almost any service center/local mechanics. right from the puny scooters to the splendors to the sbk's , that's how they are handled at most places.Originally posted by jbm_guy View PostYeah, but also sometimes those could be workshop guys who take it out for test drive, but what actually they do is ride harder rather than testing for getting issues fixed. Re: KTM 200 Duke
These guys love the rev sound of Duke.but the worst part is when they finish washing and will take inisde for service .just feels so sad to see the engine being revved hard.worst thing probably could happen to t bike sitting.Originally posted by s1d View Postthat is the general attitude of most young mechanics at almost any service center/local mechanics. right from the puny scooters to the splendors to the sbk's , that's how they are handled at most places.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
I am facing some idling issues since the second free service of the bike. It starts without any throttle input on first crank in the morning but will hold idle till it gets warm. Off late the engine has start to cut out on signals and sometimes when I am in traffic in first gear with the clutch pulled in. The bike never did this before. It idles for a minute or so before the engine cuts out. Earlier the engine would'nt turn off at all. It would just idle until I switched the engine off.
There are no over heating issue and everything seems to be normal. The idling RPM is also the same. Normally this happens if the idling speed is set when the engine is cold, incorrect idling rpm or compression loss. I am sure that its not because of compression loss. What could be causing this issue? I want to understand this a little better before I take her to the service centre.
Thanks! And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high.

I assume the bike is hardly 4000 KMS. This issue, if I remember was mostly related to the throttle play, adjust your throttle play and see how it fares. Check if the slack is off and try adjusting it. Carbon buildup on throttle body, butterfly valve, due to poor fuel too can cause this stall issue and there are a few more to it, but it will just confuse you. Take it to the SVC, tell them the issue and see what they have to offer, also tell them to check the throttle tube slack, and see how it fares. This should solve the issue, hopefully.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Had a fall on Sunday, it was a slip on wet smooth surface, at the entrance to the parking of a mall at the speed of 12-15. Broke the clutch lever and engine oil started leaking. Gear shifts became rock hard, by now engine has less than 10% oil left 😞

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Thanks VJ. You are right, the bike has done about 4700 clicks. Will check and adjust the throttle play. I keep minimal throttle play on my bikes, as less as I can get away with. This was the first thing I adjusted after buying the bike at around 200 kms mileage. If this doesn't sort the issue, will go to the workshop this Saturday and see what they say. As soon as the warranty is over, I will understand the working of the bike and start maintaining the bike myself as much as I can.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostI assume the bike is hardly 4000 KMS. Hi Arjun....Originally posted by arjun001rao View PostHi friends
Does anyone purchased there KTM in ktm lb nagar,Hyderabad.
If so, please tell me your experience while delivery of the vehicle as well as during the service of your ktm.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xBhp Connect mobile app
I made my purchase at KTM, LB nagar...
The experience was pretty good. I took my time while choosing the bike and checked every little detail before taking delivery. They were very patient and never tried to rush me!
It's been a month and a half now. I've also been through the first service at siddi vinayaka bajaj.
Went there a little early on a Saturday and made sure that my bike was first on line for service that day. I was standing right behind them, observing all through the service work.
They were also not bothered when I started asking a few questions about what they were doing and why!
This bike holds 1.4 lts of engine oil. So one has to buy 2 lts at the service center. However, at the end of the service, the Mech promptly returned the remaining oil and requested me to bring it along fit the next service.
All in all.. They seem to be trustworthy people
Hope you have a good experience too!
Cheers,

Re: KTM 200 Duke
let me know if you find these elusive tires.Originally posted by rev0lt View PostHi there^, I am also looking to change the tyre... heard about the recent fc1s ,phoned around 4-5 dealers ... none of them have it in chennai.
Has Anyone here changed to fc1s or its not been dispatched to the dealer network yet?
did you try calling BM Lal (near satyam theatre)? I used to pick up tires from this place and they used to have tires in all weird sizes and brands
. This was way back in the early 2000's.
You should check out with them if you haven't.. and i'd advice you visit them rather than making a call, because sometimes even if they do not have the tire you are looking for, they might source it from a neighboring shop.. a lot of tire shops in that area.
