    Hi guys,

I am from Hyderabad and i am trying from last couple of weeks to replace the Duke 200 RVM's and unfortunately none of the major dealers have spares at all!

i called Banjara Hills and other showrooms in hyderabad, all of them insisted to check with Begumput Showroom!
I even tried in Ramkoti, and the famous bajaj spares shop there! they also said the same, check with begumpet store!! and when i tried contacting them, the response was so pathetic.

a guy answered the call and straight away asked me to ' call back after sometime, we are busy!!!' How rude!!

can someone please help me where i can get the Duke 200 RVM's!!

Live like you mean it, then get a bike!

Ok, so when I was on the highway clocking around 80-90 kmph average, the bike suddenly dies off. I pull over to the side and start her again, there's a new and loud sound from the engine. Took it to the ktm showroom and when they opened up the engine, it was observed that the head gasket had blown off, coolant and engine oil had mixed! So it seems due to the extreme pressure, this has happened. Once everything was set right, I started observing that the old problem of "high coolant temperature" has started again!

I don't know if it's my bad luck or its normal for the bike to get these many problems after 20-24k kms.

      Cheers,

      Karthik

Are you sure about the direct fit? Since 200 doesn't come with a bar end weight from factory I doubt it will have the screw/nut welded inside the bar, so we can't put a weight towards the end and tight it. If you had already done this mod, could you please shed some light on how you did this?

I think maybe if you live in coastal areas this color change might occur quicker.
Try giving it a scrub with 'brasso' and a scotch brite cleaning pad or try a mix of lemon juice in vinegar and let's know if it shows any improvement.

Also try asking for a replacement under warranty (i have seen ktm describing the color change as normal in one of their service advices.. but their picture shows a purplish exhaust and not a black one)
I'll try that bro. I'm not living near coastal area but I've ridden in rain many times [emoji20]

No point contacting the banjara hills showroom (that's where srikanth is the mech).. that's the last place on earth you want to go for ktm spares.
Next, do not call these showroom... walk in directly to the begumpet service center (or ask someone who lives close by to go there and ask).. that would be your best bet to procure the rvm's . Like i said, i did enquire there thru a friend last month and they confirmed that they had the rvm's.
no point trying at local spare shops (even those at ramkote that are bajaj spares outlets) and calling these service centers is a waste of time.. walk in and ask, if its not in stock ask them to place a order and get a date from them when you can come back and get it fixed.
If there is no proper response even after this, simply fire an email to bajaj's customer care ([email protected]) and [email protected]

Just for info, you can fit in a Pulsar rvm too. They're no stylish, but lot more useful with their size....
I have the Pulsar rvm's only on my 390, after the trackday, when I couldn't get the original ones back.

Same thing happened to one guy from Ajmer. He too has a Duke 200. But on his bike it happened in the first 1000-2000 kms or so... But it was the exact same thing: engine oil went green as a symptom of this...

Finally, the mechanic sorted it out, but it required 2-3 days. They did lot more than just replacing the gaskets though. A full clean up, replacing oil filter and some parts...
The repaired bike is now running ok. I've ridden it...

Do you want me to share the mechanic's number, if its of any help?

no doubt these guys are very unprofessional, may be because of the Monopoly and lack of more sellers for KTM.

after sales is what matters when you are buying something, and these guys are not upto the mark!

anyways, thanks for your tips, i will walk to a store and get them as you suggested.

                  cheers!

The RTR's weights are not regular screw in types. Its kind of self expanding type. The bar end has a rubber bushing at one end and the screw at the other. Just PM me, I cannot link a post here without the user's permission.

That depends on what kind of a bike you are looking for, your budget, purpose/usage etc..
As an owner of a d200, I'd say it a nice little bike that's fun to ride around in the city and can munch miles on the highway as well. Quality of the bike has improved compared to the older lots and parts are cheap compared to bikes in the similar category/price range.
If you compare this with a honda cbr 150/250 then it loses out on the refinement but otherwise is a good ride.

and that is probably the most vague way in which you can ask a question.

One way to answer it is, Each bike will have its share of Pros and cons, no bike is void of defects, it happens, it gets rectified, some people face even worse problems and it goes without being rectified or they move on to bigger or other brands.

So no one here can give you a guarantee that the KTM you get will be trouble free or not, it is just depending on how good you take care or your bike, how good the svc is and then how good your luck turns out to be.

All that kept aside, the Duke 200 is one kickass fun machine to have..!!
