I think sufficiently heating the bike up is in itself a safety feature. LOL

The cap, though can be opened is not so easy to open up. And there is no such safety feature. Also its under the tank cowl and a bit tough to reach so I wouldn't worry much.

And I will say it again. Find a good parking spot and cover the bike up. It'll sufficiently deter prying eyes and monkey thoughts.

The coolant cap, rear brake reservoir cap and oil filler cap can be easily opened by anyone on the d200/d390. anyway the oil filler cap on most bikes can easily be accessed and removed with bare hands.
So here is what i have done:
1. Along with the delivery of my bike, i bought one each of the coolant cap, rear brake reservoir cap and oil filler cap.
2. I put a tape (nice strong duct tape, or you can use the regular brown tape too) around the coolant cap and rear brake reservoir cap, so that I will at least know if someone has messed with it, and it helps keeping people attention away from these when they are masked.
3. Since I am paranoid, I decided to get the relatively better after market oil filler cap that cannot be opened easily with bare hands and requires a spanner to open.

Yeah thanks but first can you tell me how much it cost? And also, does he also sell the power parts? Coz I need the anodized brake fluid reservoir caps as well and some other stuff. Can you please inquire and let me know?
Thanx. Pm me.

I got a free check up of my bike here at KTM Baner showroom as part of their free check up program. They used the motul chain cleaner and motul chain lube and my god the difference is tremendous. I never used this particular brand before on my bike but the difference is huge. The bike feels almost like new. The down shift are so much smoother now.

You can use a hose clamp. Do not over tighten it which may lead to breaking the cap, but tight enough to stay in place. Once in place the cap can only be partially rotated so no chance of getting it opened. Below is a picture. Same can be done for the rear brake fluid cap.

Ktm fuel pumps work by increasing fuel pressure as per rpm and if broken the fuel pressure will drop resulting in lag. Replacing fuel filter sometimes improves hot engine fuel pressure but cold starts will still be a problem. That is at times the pump will increase pressure and at times the pressure drops. Pressure must remain constant at all times or too much fuel enters the engine causing the plug to short out.
Balgi, it seems you described my problem nearly perfectly. Thanks guys. So i guess i will have to go for a fuel pump change. today my bike stalled and refused to start until 10-15 mins. Repeated cranking brought it slowly to life. Seemed like there was no fuel going in.

Wait. Did it stall while stationary? Or did it stall with a krrrrrrrrrrr sound while riding? If its the latter then you're engine seized. Contrary to popular belief the engine does start after seizing unless piston melted. So if its that then you're getting a new engine under warranty.

The cost is printed on the Power Parts itself and they are generally too expensive. Last time I checked, the tankpad was 2k, not sure about tank cap sticker.

What is the optimum RPM for gear changing in Duke 200 so it is better for the bike and i can get a decent fuel efficiency? (Both Up shift and Downshift).

Felt a small vibration on the gear and brake pedals. (hardly noticeable) Is it normal? Or should i ask them during the first service only?

Well.............. Yes and No.
You see ktm power parts are not made here but have to be imported from Austria. So part cost+import charges+customs duties= really costly shit.
Instead get a good tank pad off the internet. Its a much cheaper and much more hassle free deal.

the hose clamp looks like it will do the job on the coolant cap (because it seems to be restricting movement in that small area). i will get one soon.
but do you think it works on the rear brake fluid reservoir , where you can simply twist it off ? I wish ktm had this screwed down like on the honda (like the cbr150r, which also has a plastic reservoir but the cap is neatly screwed down)

Try and get a original yamaha r15 tank pad or something that costs less than 700 approx of reputable brands. If you ask me why, then let me tell you that the ktm power part tank pad costs what you have mentioned... while the entire tank outer cover itself is only around 1200rs !!
I'd rather not use a tank pad, and maybe put on a plain black sticker on that area(since mine is a black bike).. or just leave it as is.
Do not buy those cheap monster tank pads that are doing the rounds on snapdeal/ebay etc. Only yesterday I met a rider that used this on his cbr and man it was a mess.. peeling off at places leaving black residue on the tank.

from what i have observed, the first three gears around 5000rpm, the next three around 6500 rpm seems to be good balance during up shifts.
downshifts I can't tell you exact numbers because, i always rev match and downshift. I learn't that from experience.. I did not know of the term 'rev match' or its related benefits but i had been doing it since my early days of riding..because it felt right to me the way the engine/gear shifting responded.

I did a long ride on sunday (175km approx) and kept it under 7500rpm since my d200 had done only around 590km. The speeds maintained for 75% of the ride was between 85-95 in 6th gear.. briefly touched 100 a few times and it does 100@7500 rpm. I found out the fuel efficiency was around 33kmpl.. with the console showing 37kmpl.

People who have been riding a while know when the speed of the engine is the same as the speed of the rear wheel. And anyone who knows this has no trouble downshifting.
Essentially, rev matching means to match engine rpm to correct wheel speed to shift down. This reduces stress on the rider and the machine itself.

I do not know how to explain it in words to make you understand. Infact i think its impossible to unless you see someone do it.

You may also be doing this unintentionally.. but most riders don't. they just roll off the throttle, pull in clutch and go 'thad thad thad' on downshifting.
right way is to pull in clutch, blipping the throttle, downshifting -- practice.. but remember if you over rev it and downshift and then let the clutch go, you will lock up the rear and may end up skidding/falling off
