Re: KTM 200 Duke
I don't think it's much of a problem. Maybe the coolant spilled as you said that even later the coolant was showing max level. Take care not to fill more coolant than required. Also just check once if the fans are working. If they are then it's not a problem, you can continue riding. If not then head straight to the svc and get the fan replaced.Originally posted by sanjana k View PostThe way you ride is the way you are..

Re: KTM 200 Duke
when you in the middle of traffic jam fan motor can't reduced radiator temp until message HIGH COOLANT TEMPERATURA appears, then coolant inside rad are boiling, thats why coolant push into reservoir tank and split out.......take your bike to svc and replace fan motor with the new oneOriginally posted by sanjana k View PostToday was a real bad day for me as far as riding is concerned as today when i was riding back home to bombay from pune i went over a sharp speed beaker at 110-120 n luckily i managed to balance myself. As i went over the speed beaker i was very sure my rims were gone but when i stopped my bike and checked my rims,i was shocked to see that my rims looked perfect and i think i am right as after the speed beaker incident i continued riding for more 87 kms but as i reached panvel i got stuck in traffic n bcoz of the crazy traffic i wasnt paying attention to my console n then when i looked down i saw the dreaded HIGH COOLANT TEMPERATURE msg on my console but as i was in the middle of the total traffic i couldnt shut off my bike so i continued riding for about more 3-4 mins n then shut off my bike and let it be like that for 10-15 mins. After that when i started my bike there was no HIGH COOLANT TEMPERATURE msg so i continued my ride but after reaching home when i started inspecting my bike properly i realized that there was this green color liquid(COOLANT) all over my chassis n leg guard but the coolant level still showed max. So now i am really confused should i take my bike to the service or continue riding my bike as it is?????

Cone set would cost you Rs.303 (with labour), I replaced mine at 8k. My old cone set was rusted and my whole steering felt weird while turning right. Even after greasing and tightening, it didnt help. So, i replaced it. No problems till now.
Btw I purchased that Tamper resistant Oil cap from Mr. Mahidharia. here it is:

The KTM mech said it got rusted due to water going in during washes...isn't that a little ridiculous reason for a bike of this high performance..??!!
Anyways, the cap looks pretty good..! Looks authentic..

For the oil cap, you'l have to contact Mr. Dhaval Mahidharia on Facebook, I'm sure he can ship it to you easily. Do contact him.Originally posted by Srvn View PostOil cap looks cool and functional too! Any idea as to where I can source here in Bangalore?

The tyre is still the same, I just patched up the tyre from inside from the local tyre shop (he's an experienced guy and did the job perfectly).I did all this because I couldnt spend on a new one
. One of our members here named 'sanjana_k' has the Pilot street installed on his Duke, I'm sure he can help you with that. He mentioned in the other section about tyres, that it was quite grippy and he was satisfied.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
I didnt get any coolant temp warning on my 200ns but i faced the exact same issue a month back. It was the case of a pipe connecting the coolant reservoir to the radiator main cap being jammed between the reservoir and a clamp. It was a blunder done by the svc at mysore. Tge fan wouldnt turn on and coolant would overspill. Luckily i sorted it out at home. Now assuming NS and duke have the same working principle of the cooling system, try searching for blocked / jammed hoses anywhere.Originally posted by sanjana k View PostToday was a real bad day for me as far as riding is concerned as today when i was riding back home to bombay from pune i went over a sharp speed beaker at 110-120 n luckily i managed to balance myself. Another probable reason might be that the coolant is about to expire. The manual recommends coolant replacement every 15-20k kms i think.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Got the bike serviced at the ghatkopar svc. I have lost track of the paid services and can't tell for sure which one is it, but must be 4th paid service since odo reads almost 29K.
The chain sprocket kit was changed. The ride si markedly smooth now. No silver chain as someone had mentioned few pages back.
My left fork seal was damaged again(3rd time) after the weekend ride to town and so had to be replaced. I got the fork oil replaced in the other fork too.
Clutch cable was changed too. I told the mech to check if the clutch plates need replacement, but was told it doesn't. I was told by the Seawoods svc last time I visited them that clutch plates need to be replaced since the bike was not pulling well. After the chain replacement I se ethat the bike is fine now.
There is an issue with fuel seeping out from the tank when filled to the brim and flowing all over the left trellis and engine when the bike is parked on the side stand.
Initially the advisor tried to pass this off as a design to pass excess fuel. When I told him that the excess should flow out of the drainage pipe provided he reluctantly got the tank opened. It was found that the rubber gasket sitting between the cap and the tank has a tear where the petrol escapes from.
They didn't have in stock so couldn't get it replaced.
I wonder why it was also not replaced when the tank was changed a few weeks back.
Total damages Rs 6850.
labour was Rs 1534
