Re: KTM 200 Duke
Wer u around when the mech was changing ur fork oil?? Bcoz if u weren't than I am very sure the mech has not changed the fork oil of the fork that wasn't leaking as they just dont get the point in changing fork oil of the fork that doesn't have a leak. I have experienced this myself when I had given my bike to seawoods service for fork oil change. N ya they dont make use of motul fork oil which has grade n all mentioned on it they instead make use of 6 small cans of fork oil made by bajaj as 3 cans are required for 1 forkOriginally posted by Doga View PostCompleted 30k kms recently. The bike has been doing fine generally after the last service barring one thing. The ride quality. It's a bit bone jarring surely aided by the decision of the mech to change the rear shock setting to 7
The bike just keeps on jumping up and down. Also the forks appear too stiff. I can feel the front bouncing a bit on braking. I started to notice this after the service . I had instructed the mech to replace the oil in both the forks while he patched the left fork seal, so that the damping is kept balanced. May be this has a bearing on the stiffness. The fork action is not smooth too. I mean it can be stiff or spongy but it's not gradual. This is noticed the most, as I said under braking. I am not sure which grade oil they put in the forks.
All of this has been contributing to not so confident cornering. I am not able to feel the traction levels properly and having difficulties leaning on the same corners I used to do before with ease(no Rossi stuff, regular minimal leaning ones
). This may also be due to the slight bend I have on the front rim.
I'd definitely get the rear shock back to 5 or 6.
But how do I fix the forks?
Also should I go for a rim replacement or do I go try getting it fixed? Since the bend is not pronounced I doubt the insurance agent would clear the claim.
Oh and btw, warranty gone !!

Re: KTM 200 Duke
I guess this headlight not coming on is becoming a common problem for 2014 models.Originally posted by mazaid53 View PostHey Guys! three weeks back I got my hands on a brand new shining Duke 200
Done with first service in a weeks time and a 1000 km ride (to and fro) to my hometown in konkan.
Absolute bliss to ride this machine in ghats!
Now some issues I am facing:
1. Since day one I am facing an issue with headlight, if the headlinght switch is in ON position and engine is started, it doesn't just light up!!
During 1st Service I had complained about this and SVC just changed headlight switch on handlebar, problem was solved for some days but it's back now.
2. Everything was alright, till last night. There's some tik-tik sound coming while riding. there's no such sound if bike's idling at standstill.
Anyone has faced such issues? Pls help.
There are 3 relays below the tank which must be replcaed. To get it rectified, you will have to reproduce the issue to the svc, which is next to impossible because it happens occassionaly only.
One thing you can do is to take your bike to the svc with headlight not working. If they still dont acknowledge it, shoot a mail to KTM....then see how things turn around.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
It was the Engine Kill switch, the culprit. Need to press it hard to switch on and the slightest of the vibrations make it turn off the engine. Did gave me some scary moments while on the run. Changed it today.Originally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View PostCould be rain or waterwash playing spoilsport with the electricals. My duker friends had faced something similar.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Both my front and rear tires are now almost "tired"
after 11200 KMS of use.
Now my next options would be to just replace them with the same or one of the following.
Please suggest the best of them if any of you have used them on their bikes
Pirelli Sport Demon 140/7- /150/70
IRC RX-01 140/70 / 150/70
MRF Revz C
MRF Revz S 150/60
MRF Zapper Vyde
Michelin Pilot Street 140/70
Michelin Pilot Sporty 140/70
Width section I'm looking for is 150/140
As you can see I'm totally confused... Metzelers are out of range due to obvious reasons..

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Saw a d390 member use a ceat vertigo 120 section tyre in the rear! He said it dosent look that thin in person, plus he said its an all you want tyre for rains, since we know rains in india dont leave just wet tarmac but a hole lot of other shit with itOriginally posted by wallpapers123 View PostBoth my front and rear tires are now almost "tired"

Its pretty cheap but wont offer that bite that these tyres will give you on dry tarmac, but for wet its much better then all of them,
Otherwise if you can source ircs then voila, ceat dhoom 140 is also good.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Hey all fellow Dukers....
Took Delivery of my Black Monster on Friday 30th May 2014..... Was going out of town on the weekend so could not go for any runs over the weekend. Got the customary pooja done today. I am not going to write any elaborate reviews, not because I am lazy or anything, it's just that I dont look at riding a bike in such detail. as long as the ride is fun and the bike is performing well I am happy... One thing that I should say, it's such a blast to ride this Monster....Duke 200 just is so much fun, and milage is good too.. It is showing me an average of 34 kmpl as of now on the instrument cluster... I will end with this and maybe once I have done some good touring will post my travelogues.
