So, it seems Duke owners can forget about the floods. Nice.

      • need urgent help with fuel level indicator problem

Yesterday evening i was riding the duke and fuel level indicator was showing the fuel level 2 bars above the reserve level (as shown in figure). I stopped at the red light and switched off the bike. After i started the bike, the fuel level indicator became blank (no bars) and display started to show-low fuel level. I was shocked as 4 bars vanished suddenly. I rode next 300-400 meters to next petrol pump and filled the tank with 5 litres. But the fuel indicator didnt changed and there were null bars still. I rode another 2-3 km so that fuel bars may show up but they didnt. I parked the bike for the night thought in the morning everything will be fine. But the problem is still there. Service center is closed here in central Delhi because of today being monday. So i went to KTM showroom in Connaught place. I met some person from KTM. He checked the bike and then he called some guy and told about the bike. I was told to go to service station tomorrow. I was told that it is problem with sensor, so i dont need to worry and can ride without any fear. But there is still fear some where inside me. Need some advice. Has anyone met with same fate? NEED HELP
( P.S The photo below was taken long time ago. I have uploaded it just to show how fuel lever indicator was showing before it stopped working.)

Even if u put fully synthetic oil during the 1st service its perfectly alright.
There are many motorcycles / cars (including the one I own the Fiat Punto Multijet) manufacturers which provide FS oil since day one.

You can definitely go for FS oil, I changed to Motul 7100(20W50) at 1st service and there are many dukers who've opted for Motul 7100 so u dont need to worry. 1L can costs around 750 bucks, you'll need to buy 2 cans.

FS oil is good, the smoothness un-beatable as compared to the semi or mineral one. And it is supposed to stay good for the next 5000 kms which also comes out to the next service interval for the duke. Whereas, the others like the semi or mineral oils loose their viscoscity by 3000 and 1500-2000 kms respectively.

So, all in all I would personally prefer the FS one.

              • Finally Duked

Have been monitoring this thread for long. Thanks for all the information you guys have been posting here.

I had booked the bike quite sometime back (end Feb). Was out of town almost whole of April. Finally took the bike delivery on 10th May from Khivraj showroom in Indira nagar. No fan fares - just that the guy delivering was wearing a KTM t-shirt instead of the regular Uniform. Only information given was that I have to book for servicing at least one week ahead of schedule.

I'm using a bike after almost 10 years. So far have rode about 115Kms. Ride has been pretty good. Last bike I used was a Kawasaki Bajaj 4s. Don't remember how that ride felt - except for the fact that every now and then I click down to raise the gear (thats how it was in 4s)! One sided gear lever is new to me.

Trying to ride by exercising the right rpm's for each gear. For some reason, I just can't find the neutral when I knowingly try. There were quite a few times when I was in Neutral while not expecting to be so. The only time I can for sure switch to neutral is when I complete stop the bike and turn on the key. First couple of days switching gears were very comfortable, but the next two days I find it a bit tough - probably I'm still getting used to the bike and ride.

Also this is the first time I'm riding with helmet on and hence have been trying to focus on only getting used to the ride. For now I totally avoid eye contact with anyone in the traffic to answer about duke :-)

Filled up the tank once with Speed. The attendant was curios to open the coolant lid.

                Yet to RTFM.

No extra orchestration from the bike (chain / head light noises). No coolant spill over yet.

I felt the key position wasn't great if a slightly bigger key chain is connected. With such a key chain, it was tough to lock and pull the key out.

                • Nice first post Venkat Looks like you are enjoying your new duke experience. However, regarding the neutral problem..which should not be much of a problem after the 1st service and the gear shifting should be smooth after the oil change.

Run-in the engine properly which would help in the later stages of Duke's life.

And +1 on the keychain part, For that matter till now I couldn't find a suitable keychain too, the usual ones are big for the handle setup.

                              Hi
I think all the Duke Stickers have the CC printed on it. Have u checked the numbers printed on it?
Because the label says that it is for 125 then there is possibility of "125" printed on it.
                              Can u pls confirm?

Bro your friend was robbed!!! Another member of this forum by the name of bprags has sourced the same sticker kit from Germany for just 66Euros. That works out to roughly Rs.4,555!!!

I've noticed that most of these UK website sites charge exhorbitant amounts for just about anything for the KTM 125/200 DUKE.
Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.
