800 is pretty good for the OEM sticker setup. And Some 1000 bucks for the plain(w/o stickers) tank. So, thats a good enough deal.

so there's no confusion between race line stickers and Stock OEM stickers price
Yup that must be for the different sticker kit not the OEM one. Anyways, currently that sticker kit is not available in India too.

Can still hear the same.
That must the chain slacking noise(chain touching the swingarm), take it to the service center & they would fix some rubber bushing or a tape at the point where the chain touches the swingarm.

At times, I also feel that. Brought it to the service ppl but no results.

        Here you go: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/804142-post2142.html

I wouldn't call it rusting or peeling, it is more like spots. Because the surface does not feel uneven (like a peeled surface probably would).

Few of us here(including me) felt that after a hard and long ride(with the temperature bars just 1 below the cutoff) the engine do feels a bit rough and stressed. The acceleration also seems low during this time. However, after the bike gets colder it becomes normal again. But this issue should get over after the first service and oil change.

BTW if my 4 stroke bike gives me enough power to roam around and still runs butter smooth then is it a bad thing to ask? IMHO 'high rev engine' and 'engine feeling stressed' is not the same thing. A splendor or passion doing around 80 - 90 KMPH is like a engine stressed.

Also few points about the cons -
            1. You can easily change the rear suspension setup from the SVC. I personally have not changed it yet and having no issues with this.
            2. Though looks are relative and subjective, but still an all digital cockpit like instrumentation looks good in this bike. Although the digital rpm meter is a bit hard to check while riding.
            3. I couldn't get your point here. What do you mean by static? No one else in this thread has reported any fault with the fuel gauge yet. can you please explain it a bit.

When I said People are complaining, I didn't mean Duke owners in this thread.. I was talking about some reviews in magazines and blogs. All I wanted to make clear is that the Duke is not stressed.. Its only High-revving. I exactly wanted to put across the same point as yours that " High Rev engine is not equal to Engine Stress "

What I meant by static fuel guage is that the reading should not change according to your riding style. I want the fuel guage to show me the exact amount of fuel left in the tank..but in our case, the reading sometimes shows 1 bar and then after sometime, shows 2 bars if you take it easy on your bike. I feel this is ridiculous as there is no way the fuel would increase no matter what.

I think the problem is that the mileage, fuel guage, distance to petrol pump readings are all interconnected and they all change dynamically based on the feedback the ECU gives. Thats why, I feel the fuel guage should be kept out of this and it should behave like an analog one instead.

thats good. my asc guy told me that they dont have coolant so cannot top it up. on asking which coolant they said u can put motul bcoz they dont have castrol. also they said that as long as the coolant is not below MIN level its fine even at MIN level u dont need topup, so instead of breaking my head with such dumbos, i decided to get this coolant just for emergency topup.

actly it is fine if the coolant level is near or even visibly below min.. coz the tank which is on the inner side is quite large.. and the difference btwn max and min level of the coolant is hardly 50-100 ml..

                • Quick pointers -

                  - If any excessive vibration from the foot pegs, please get your chain tightened. The company recommended free play is 5-7mm, which is really really less IMO, but it makes all the difference. I got my chain adjusted at 500 kms, and the vibes were gone. Even the harshness had mellowed down.

                  - Coolant - For a quick Top up only, even distilled water will do. Coolant has additional anti bacteria, anti choking, anti freeze additives in it to ensure that no deposits happen in the cooling system and the water/coolant keeps flowing freely. Most coolants are actually mixed with a certain ratio of water before being put in the radiator.

And water has the highest latent heat of them all.

                  - The pitting on the exhaust pipe does look like rusting, but if its smooth, I am not completely sure.

                  - BTW, the duke has a lambda sensor ( if not already posted ), right after the exhaust port. So if anyone wants to try a free flow air filter, Its just a direct fit job. Just remember to disconnect the battery for some time, so that the ECU re calibrates according to the increased fuel flow. This close loop FI also helps give it good grunt throughout the rev range.

The coolant (like any other liquid) expands while hot and contracts while cooled down.

You are supposed to top it up between the min-max levels for a reason. The company recommends this because they are not sure if you're toping it up when the engine is hot or cold.

If you top it up till the min level on a hot engine, the actual coolant level will go below the min level once the engine cools down.
Similarly, if you top it up to the max level on a cold engine, you run the risk of an overflow when the coolant heats up.

In other words, keep it between the levels to be safe.

                    EDIT:

It doesn't look like the usual brown rust.
Pitting, TBH I'm not sure. Read about it a bit and found that it affects stainless steel. Also Chlorides are a cause, probably that's the reason why we're seeing more cases of it in Bombay and Chennai.

Although the surface is smooth, it could be because it is in the initial stages and hence imperceptible to touch.

To be frank, I've decided to wait and see if it gets worse, before jumping to conclusions.

                        • KTM - wet conditions

Okay so today, Bangalore, has got torrential rainfall resulting in many "Canals"/ roads.

I happened to come across a 2 feet deep, water clogged so called "road" for a length of atleast 30 feet. ( For those in B'lore, J.P Nagar underpass stretch)

I rode my Duke through the whole thing having been "inspired" by the KTM underwater exhaust testing videos going around.

It could have been a total disaster. I could have looked like a complete idiot and could have fallen flat on my face. Instead, what I got was a totally stress-free ride across and even I was surprised at the ease with which I could ride across having absolutely no experience at all... All I did was try to maintain a constant speed of 20-30 kmph and keep the revs relatively high( around 5k).

The water spray from the front wheel was an issue as it totally covered my helmet visor. I also had a few small slides wading through which was expected and dealt with pretty easily thanks to the fat rubber.

The look on the faces of the people on the other side when I rode across-priceless

The fact was all the cars and even a bus turned back after seeing it and people, people actually cheered (I may be mistaken as I was screaming my head off in delight inside my helmet)

Happened with me too. The trick is to keep the revs high enough so that water doesn't enter the exhaust but am quite surprised & happy with your experience.
