I guess so that the object's 'newness' is not lost. As soon as the shipping wrap is removed, it will be no different from any other old 'car interior, office furniture, toy, motorcycle crash guard' that you see around you.Originally posted by The Mountain View PostSomething I've always wondered about, as I've seen it in so many different situations here: Why does no one in India ever remove the shipping wrap from anything? Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

I find it ugly too. People keep plastic wrapping on car seats at the cost of considerable discomfort in summers. Wait. I have seen new sofas completely covered in plastic at homes.Originally posted by The Mountain View PostSomething I've always wondered about, as I've seen it in so many different situations here: Why does no one in India ever remove the shipping wrap from anything? May be they want everything to last long and are willing to compromise on aesthetics and comfort.
Rohan though may have been too tired to take the wrapping off the crash guard after taking the mirrors off
On a serious note, I too had bits of wrapping intact on the rear mudguard/saree gurad for some time simply because it was difficult to take it off completely. It needed quite an effort and time the day I didThe hero always RIDES into the sunset!

So, stuff that's wrapped in tattered, dusty plastic, but still not visible itself, looks better than something unwrapped that can be cleaned?

ROFL... I liked that re-constructive surgery statementOriginally posted by The MountainAnd I'm sure the thought that you preserved your "cool" self-image in the eyes of "certain people" will be of great comfort during the long recovery after reconstructive surgery.
You cannot justify not wearing proper safety gear, so stop trying. There is no excuse.

Help!!!
Has anyone here successfully managed a tire change or fixed a puncture on the KTM? Doing it is one thing, but not damaging the Black Rims is going to be difficult considering the way these guys take the tire off. I have an Obsessive Compulsive Tendency to keep My KTM's black rims scratchless and clean whenever possible, any advice would be appreciated. Also would the SVC center be able to do it better than the regular local tire shops?Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

forgot to add few more things, manager said all older dukes will be updated with new item and new dukes are coming with motul as standard engine oil
i can confirm that the new batch has indeed rubber rail at top and bottom of swing-arm which goes thicker towards ends.
I have been told by SVC tech taht the engine oil is bajaj 10000 DTSI not Motul but he did offer me to change to motul at naturally extra cost which i denied as i changed the oil today at 66km on odo and wanted it to be mineral, semi synthetic not synthetic

Mileage / FE / Fuel Economy Check
7.20 ltrs for 236.80 kms which means a mileage / FE of 32.88 ... mostly city commutes of 20 km stretches one way, during peak hour... Was redlining when starting from signals and when I lost my patience...
At 4k Kms in the Odo now, the engine sound is much more interesting to me

after the oil change at 66km on odo my bike has lost its loud howling sound and i feel pickup has gone down a notch as well. is it normal? i called svc tech and he said he adjusted clutch during the oil change as it was vit loose so he tightened it, can it cause reduce pickup, personally i dont think so.
exhaust noise going down due to oil change a bit is expected but i see a sharp decrease in it.
what do you mean by interesting sound?
