A fellow duker fixed the puncture in a local shop and they messed it up and finally he had to put a tube inside the tyre or had to go for a brand new tyre.Originally posted by joshzma225 View PostHas anyone here successfully managed a tire change or fixed a puncture on the KTM? Doing it is one thing, but not damaging the Black Rims is going to be difficult considering the way these guys take the tire off. I have an Obsessive Compulsive Tendency to keep My KTM's black rims scratchless and clean whenever possible, any advice would be appreciated. Also would the SVC center be able to do it better than the regular local tire shops?
One can fix the puncture in the SVC or any MRF shops.
What mineral oil did You use?Originally posted by maverick1 View Posti can confirm that the new batch has indeed rubber rail at top and bottom of swing-arm which goes thicker towards ends.
I have been told by SVC tech taht the engine oil is bajaj 10000 DTSI not Motul but he did offer me to change to motul at naturally extra cost which i denied as i changed the oil today at 66km on odo and wanted it to be mineral, semi synthetic not synthetic

i used 10000 dtsi only as it was the recommended one in SVC and i was told it was the oil which comes prefilled and they did offer to put 7100w motul but it being fully synthetic i did not go fo rit

4000 on the ODO. Time to switch to FS I guess. The svc would be so happy to see me arrive without carrying any oil this weekend
.
I'll have the mech check out the sluggish throttle response and the odd khat khat sound coming from the console and due to chain hitting swingarmThe hero always RIDES into the sunset!

I dont have the manual with me right now. But I can recall that it says " 5000 kms or 150 days" which ever occurs earlier.Originally posted by devil_rider View PostIt's 150 days from the date of purchase
But as most of the members have said, they are getting it serviced @ 6000 kms. (5000 + 1000 after 1st service).
So should it apply to the days as well? (150 + 45 days after 1st service)?

i did repair the puncture myself with puncture kit. Its job of 2-3 min only and even u dont need to touch the rim(in this method all process id done from outside without removing the tyre)Originally posted by joshzma225 View PostHas anyone here successfully managed a tire change or fixed a puncture on the KTM? Can someone help me out here??Originally posted by Sh4n3W View PostThis is the only reason i decided to get a Duke, exactly two months back. Test rode it and made the purchase. But after around 400kms on the odo i felt a decrease in this feel. I thought maybe its cause i got used to it. I expected a difference after the first servicing and it came back to its true self, making rides so much more exciting. I believe it maybe the air filter and spark plugs as i do not get good fuel(i doubt it is even RON91) and my city is going through a major reconstruction so there is a lot of dirt at some places(the light kind that flies around). I've done 1600 kms on the odo now and it feels like the 6k feel is shifted to around 8k but with lesser intensity. I am learning how to ride a motorcycle the proper and perfect way, the one im working on is downshifting with perfect rpm throttle blipping at different rev ranges(could this be one of the causes of the decreasing feel of the powerband??). I used bajaj 10000 Dtsi semi synthetic oil as there is no motul outlet here and i do not want to void the warranty(not so soon). I also read somewhere that after 5k on the odo the bike feels better and faster n stuff.. is that even possible? is the 5000 kms like the implicit break-in period? I drive at revs ranging from 4k-7k and when im in the mood max upto 10k but i have never reached the point where the limiter kicks in. Do i need to rev harder? or lesser? All i am looking for is the feel i got in the first 400 kms and the 200 kms after the first servicing. Will i need to clean the airfilter and spark plugs and other stuff to get this feel everytime? and just for a few 100 kms? if so, i am ready to learn how it is to be done... and if not what could be the reason behind this?
