If you ride @ speed of 65-75 km/hr then surely it has to return the mileage of 35+ km/l this what my friend who owns Duke says. We had a 200km round tour with 5 bikes in a zig zag type roads and we used to swap our bikes and I got the chance of riding Duke. When I got the bike it was showing 28km/l mileage and after riding some 20kms, it shoot up to 35km/l and when I asked how did it happen, Duke's owner was saying that if you ride fast then mileage is increased. I was riding @ 65-75 km/hr speed and changing gears without loading the engine. Just wanted to ask you if the mileage report on the meter is accurate?

exactly i witnessed the same too. Damn you read my mind. Day before Yesterday went uphill to mussorie did some nice knee scraping. Although what was happening was 6th gear @40-45kph. MFD showed 30kmpl. I started riding in low gear @around 4th gear @40-45kph i saw increased kmpl reading it was around 39-40kmpl.Originally posted by jonahmano View PostIf you ride @ speed of 65-75 km/hr then surely it has to return the mileage of 35+ km/l this what my friend who owns Duke says. I didnt paid attention then. I witnessed the same thing over and over again yesterday over a short 60+km trip. Revving a little around 5-6k rpms keeping the engine a lil busy ...does so.
further increase in revs dropped the kmpl reading.Code:https://www.instagram.com/ankit_himalayas/

Bro, try this mod. It has considerably reduced the chain noise on my bike.Originally posted by ASSASSIN07 View PostAnyone who knows the reason or have the solution?

Sometimes, the toolkit also tends to make noise if the rubberbands have become loose.Last edited by Janesh.J; 09-04-2012, 01:13 PM.30+ YEARS OF RIDING

The Duke should be using standard blade-type fuses. Just check the appropriate fuse, and if blown you can replace with a fuse of the same rating from any source. You shouldn't need to go to Bajaj to replace a fuse.Originally posted by ViperSting View PostGuys,
My Duke's radiator fan stopped working since yesterday. Had lot of bumper traffic yesterday night but the fan won't start as usual. The temperature reading even went into the separate "high zone" where it doesn't usually go.
The manual says Fuse 5 should be checked to see if its blown out. Is this fuse also available in Bajaj showrooms? One of the showrooms is nearby. So am thinking to get one and DIY it. Did anyone else experience this problem?
However, if that fuse blows again, then you will need to go to Bajaj to find out what is causing it to blow.ATGATT: All The Gear, All The Time!

Just checked the fuse. It's OK!!! Must be some problem with the fan or some sensor. Should go to the Service centre.Originally posted by The Mountain View PostThe Duke should be using standard blade-type fuses. But isn't these rubber sliders already there on our bikes?
Or are you saying that we can add another slider at the places where this available slider is not present?Hero Honda Karizma

Sorry forgot to write the explanation, infact the rubber slider is the culprit. It is not fixed to the swingarm (apart from the bold) at the end, so when the chain hits the sw-arm, it takes the slider along with it and makes the khat sound.Originally posted by ASSASSIN07 View PostThanks Janesh,

What i was proposing and have done, is stick the end of the slider (loose end) to the sw-arm (i used feviquick). and a lot of the sound has reduced.
its your call whether to use feviquick or anyother material to stick it.30+ YEARS OF RIDING

I usually do not follow the MDF during city driving as it is very erratic with its fuel consumption reading... On the highway though it is a different story. Both the fuel consumption reading and distance to empty reading were fairly accurate... I measure my fuel economy on a tank to tank basis and I usually get between 33-35kmpl in the city, I travel about 50km daily with a lot of bumper to bumper traffic during the day and almost empty roads on the way back. I have made 3 long trips on the Duke and I got a mileage of 38kmpl on the ghats and between 40-42kmpl on the highway where we more of less kept a constant of 100-115kmph...

constant 70kmph on highway will show 58kmpl on the console .. mfd is quite close to the actual results .. i have even seen mfd showing 7kmpl and highest of 73kmpl..Originally posted by jonahmano View PostIf you ride @ speed of 65-75 km/hr then surely it has to return the mileage of 35+ km/l this what my friend who owns Duke says. i calculate mileage by tankful method and i get around 40-45 kmpl ( moderately hard riding in city ) .. mileage is 35-40 kmpl when i ride it quite slow .. this is bangalore city traffic ...
got to ride it hard if i need more mileage ..

By sump guard, do you mean the belly pan (as it is called), or spoiler also. This costs - Rs 541 (source India KTM Duke 200 Owners Group FB)Originally posted by sunilyo View PostAny idea how much the sump guard for the Duke cost?
No, sound has not completely gone, but does not come on small undulations or potholes.Originally posted by ASSASSIN07 View PostSo the sound has reduced but not completely vanished?30+ YEARS OF RIDING

my radiator fan is also not working from last friday, i checked all the fuses, everything seems right even replaced the radiator fan fuse with the spare one provided in the fuse box. at last went to service center, they checked and said there might be carbon on fuse. they cleaned it and fan started working. the service guy checked the fan by taking ride and in last the conclusion was that the fan motor is possibly not working properly and need replacement. they wrote down the complaint and ask me to come on coming saturday. there i also met a person taking reviews from ktm owners. he told me that the bikes of march and april lot have such problem of radiator fan and they are replacing..Originally posted by ViperSting View PostGuys,

my suggestion is that if company knows that the certain lots have problems in some parts then they must called all bikes of that lot and change it parts whether it is creating problem or not because sooner and later that part will create problem.
