If he's getting punctures that frequently, he should probably stick with the stock tire. It'll be cheaper. The rear tire on the Duke is a fairly unique size. Only Pirelli and Metzeler (apparently) make tires in that size, and only the Pirelli is apparently available in India. It's significantly more expensive than the stock MRF though, so replacing it all the time is going to eat into his wallet heavily.Originally posted by vajra_bng View PostATGATT: All The Gear, All The Time!

I would suggest the Pirelli Diablo Rosso II they have an exact fit for the dukes tire profiles both front and back and they're made of dual compound rubber. So that means you'd get more mileage with the tire since the middle part of the tire will be composed of hard rubber as well as better handling on account of a soffer stickier rubber on the sides of the tire. This is motogp tech at its best. Also the Diablo Rosso II's have a new improves tread pattern to have more water dissipation and more road contact with the slick part of the tires. All in all it'll be a good all weather tire. Do let us know how much it costs in your city.Originally posted by vajra_bng View PostHi Guys,
I had question on duke's tyre,my cousin has duke and the tyre is gone bad because of punchers and svc has suggested to replace tyres.
Should he stick to the stock ones or go for the others tyres.
Please suggest a good tyre for duke and we stay in bangalore.
Thanks.....

But then it would also allow some evaporative fuel emissions too.
Also this should be informed to KTM. Petrol tank features are priority one.
Also any precautionary measure or method i could implement in order to avoid such a thing.?
lmao on "free service charge."Originally posted by The$tig View PostHello Dukers, Got my bike back from the service center after second service, which cost me about 1016rs. The detailed bill as follows,

Emissions from where? When the cap is closed, the tank is sealed; you could take it off the bike and turn it upside-down and nothing would come out.Originally posted by Ankitvile View Postthanks bro....helped a lot.

Edited to add: there is a vent on the tank, though it should be baffled so no liquid can get out, but every fuel system has that. Without a vent, the tank would develop a vacuum inside as the fuel level went down.Last edited by The Mountain; 09-06-2012, 03:56 PM.ATGATT: All The Gear, All The Time!

Diablo Rosso II costs Rs 12,000/- in bangalore its on the expensive side, so decided to go for the stock MRF which is around Rs 3,800/-.Originally posted by joshzma225 View PostI would suggest the Pirelli Diablo Rosso II they have an exact fit for the dukes tire profiles both front and back and they're made of dual compound rubber. Ya exactly, i asked them the same question, They said waters service, vehicle check up and labor charges are free, i have to pay for every replaced components. lolOriginally posted by The Mountain View PostI'm curious. Exactly what part of the "free service" is actually free? They charged you for the service; they charged you for the (dealer-supplied) oil, they charged you for the maintenance items like chain lube and the various filters.

Oh my bad dude, actually they did not charge 65. The bill comes like that.Originally posted by niranjanvaidya View PostThe Oil is Dealer Stocked and not Dealer Supplied and will be charged. So also the other consumables.
While it does not surprise me to see consumables being charged, I'm most definitely surprised to see charge on free service.
@The$tig: Can you check with them on the Rs. 65 that they charged you for free service?

All things are chageable in free service.what is free is the service charge.paid service charge is around 600-700 rupees. This is same for all bikes, cars also.Originally posted by Ankitvilelmao on "free service charge."

All issues are minor and wahtever issues are there are being taken care of by ktm svc very nicely.fe varies largely from 30-45.depends on how is you hand on throttle.topspeed is 130(true) and speedo is 134.Originally posted by Praj zm View Postany major problems faced by the duke owners till date

IMO Chain lube shouldn't be charged.Originally posted by The$tig View Post
Free Service Charge - 65
Bajaj DTS-I 10000 ( Engine Oil) - 431.72
Chain OKS (lube) - 75
Oil Filter - 65.20
Filter Element - 239.21
Fine Fuel Filter - 85.02
And did the 'Filter element' is the Air filter right ? Is that supposed to be changed at the second service itself ?? Or was yours damaged/did u get it changed on your own will ??
