Interesting. The no-cost repair may be due to it being a warranty issue, whether you specifically requested it or not. As to the brake, more likely one or both of the pads became partially dislodged or misaligned when the mechanic re-mounted the wheel.Originally posted by Doga View PostATGATT: All The Gear, All The Time!

Noise from the rear section
Hi,
Whenever I ride the bike @ ~ 50kmph in 4th-6th gear, there is a noise in the rear section. The occurrence is predominantly when -
1. I leave the accelerator
2. After leaving the accelerator, I again get back on accelerator
3. Whenever there are minor potholes on the road.
The feel of the noise is of the chain hitting the left side of the swing arm despite the fact that I had the chain gap maintained @ 5 mm.
Anyone have a solution for this problem?
Its very irritating to hear such noises everytime I ride.Hero Honda Karizma

There are very few issues in new bikes. None of them serious. Fork seals are now better so that dust does't enter. New ecu maps so no stalling. Chain noise is also less as the protective rubber is fatter. If you take care and treat the bike right the will be no problems.Originally posted by rixBhp View PostReposting my query as I didn't get any replies. Expecting replies from the current owners "Are there any major issues that I need to be worried about?" Thanks in advance.
Hope this take care of your worries. :-)

Let me add one more here...
I was at a petrol pump where this guy comes on a pulsar 150 and asks me about the bike.. He asked me what's the top speed?
I replied 138kmph... To which he replies
"Kam hai... 200kmph toh dena chahiye tha"
138 is too less. It should've had top speed of 200

BTW
Whenever my handlebar is on the extreme left end and I accelerate and then leave the accelerator, the acceleration remains for a couple of seconds rather than coming down immediately.
Secondly, The front forks were making some squeaking sounds yesterday. Is it because I am not riding the motorcycle much during the rains?Last edited by devil_rider; 09-03-2012, 05:58 PM.The best alarm clock is sunshine on chrome.

Get your throttle cable checked. There must be some obstruction to the cable when u fully turn the handlebar...Originally posted by devil_rider View PostWhenever my handlebar is on the extreme end and I accelerate and then leave the accelerator, the acceleration remains for a couple of seconds rather than coming down immediately.

Maybe... This thing is only happening when the handlebar is on left side.Originally posted by Sh4n3W View PostGet your throttle cable checked. There must be some obstruction to the cable when u fully turn the handlebar...
On right side, it's absolutely fine.
Will get it checked on this weekend

Well it could be the alignment of your rear tire more than the chain slack. Alternately I used to face this repeated sound when I was riding slow and could hear all the sounds coming from the bike and in my case it was that the chain had developed a damaged link. So please check your chain, each individual link by link.Originally posted by ASSASSIN07 View PostAnyone who knows the reason or have the solution?Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

changing fork oil seals are not as complicated as you think .. my fz faced fork oil leak just 2 days before i had to sell it .. took it to yamaha svc and they quoted total of 900rs (parts + labour) and 6hrs time .. i didnt have time , so took it to a local mechanic ..had to buy fork oil and oil seals on my own (around 200rs) .. mechanic opened each and every part of fork ( all the tubes , springs , seals and some other things which looked complicated) ,, filled oil and replaced the seals .. i was sitting and watching him do all that .. he took roughly 2hrs and i paid him 250rs as labour charge ...Originally posted by The Mountain View PostI'm curious about something: when you had the seal replaced, this junior mechanic actually disassembled the fork, or at least the leg that was leaking, to replace that seal? Or did he just remove the fork leg and replace the rubber on the end of the fork outer? I ask because my brother's FZ developed a fork leak from some ill-advised riding, and all they replaced was the dust seal, not the actual seals, and it is still leaking several months later (both legs, now). To do an actual internal seal replacement (the actual oil seal) costs well into the Rs2000 range or more because of the labor involved, and would require that the bike be left at least overnight.
take me as an example ... i was very regular to this form when i was yet to buy duke ,, but now after having got it ,, i visit this forum very rarely .. i have clocked 1600kms on the odo till now ..Originally posted by rixBhp View PostReposting my query as I didn't get any replies. No major issues with my Duke at all. I just love it!Originally posted by rixBhp View PostReposting my query as I didn't get any replies. Expecting replies from the current owners "Are there any major issues that I need to be worried about?" Thanks in advance.
.It's fun to ride, its quick, its eye-catching
.Mileage is ok, I'm still in my run-in period so im getting 35-45kmpl. If you can afford the Duke then dont look anywhere else, just go for it and be Ready to Race.

Radiator fan not working
Guys,
My Duke's radiator fan stopped working since yesterday. Had lot of bumper traffic yesterday night but the fan won't start as usual. The temperature reading even went into the separate "high zone" where it doesn't usually go.
The manual says Fuse 5 should be checked to see if its blown out. Is this fuse also available in Bajaj showrooms? One of the showrooms is nearby. So am thinking to get one and DIY it. Did anyone else experience this problem?
