Am based at chennai. Going to Book my Duke most soon. Just have few questions hope i would get an answer. my question is more intended for the chennai Dukers,

    1. Approximately how long is gonna be my waiting period if i book my Duke this weekend at PBK, Adyar

    2. Can u pls suggest me some decent EMI plans. Currently i have HDFC Two wheeler loan. Spoke to those guys and they are ready to provide the loan. Though am considering to get some better options if any!!

Help me to live my dream soon!! Thanks Guys!!
booking and delivery interval depends on the location. I got duke delivered the next day though.
Regarding EMI plans there are few schemes. Even i got my duke in EMI. First you have to decide the downpayment which may be 40000/- or 50000/-
and their respective monthly installments will be 3600x36 and 2800x36 ...[36=months(3years)].
Ktm officials go through good authentication process. You will fill couple of forms. And thus you will require-
    --a photo idebtificatiion.
    --adress proof.
--your bank statement copy(if you are purchasing on your behalf)
--four empty blank cheques in favour of Bajaj Auto(refundable when the EMI plan completes)
--Form filling will require a reference contact, place you are working at etc etc.
Ktm officials will come to the given address i.e. at home at place where you work. To ensuure the given information is correct. They will further call your reference contact no. and verify your existence and the information you have provided.
After all this is finalised you will get a call from pune Ktm office and will take final verification and on the day of delivery you will be called with your Downpayment+4 blank cheques. All the documentation will be done then.
If you are planning to buy on your own salary you have to submit your passbook photocopy and bank statement.
Also they dont provide EMI plans to customers with salary below 15000/- pm...i earn 12000/-pm so i had to make a co-applicant just for security.
I talked to the finance guy and i gave 50000/- as downpayment and 7415/-pm as installment for one year. I just wanted to get the EMIs done quickly, whatevet suits man.
I hope this will help. Post the pics when you get the delivery bro.

So my question is, are the revs somehow limited during the run-in by company ?

Also there is this RPM1 and RPM2 functionality ? How do they help the bike ?
There is RPM limiter which cuts off at 7000RPM or as in your case 7,500RPM. This will be changed when you take your bike in for service at 1000kms(1st service)

no rpm limiter on any duke at 7000rpm .. all dukes have limiter set at 10500rpm ..
it is just a light that blinks at 7000rpm ( you can set it accordingly ) ..
yes , every duke can rev furiously till 10500 from day 1 ...

There is no rev limiter on the motorcycle. I had my doubts but i never tried to take it above 6000 rpm during run in.

Different riders have different preferences for shifting gears. So, the RPM1 and RPM2 indicators are used just so the riders know when to shift gears..

EG.: If you want to shift gears around 6000 rpm, you can set your RPM1 at 6000rpm. At 6000 rpm, the red light in the console starts blinking indicating that its time to shift gears.

That's true but never cross 6000 in run-in period

He needs the brake lines, not replacement pads.

What on earth did you do to need a complete replacement set of brake lines?

If this is the correct price, then the pads cost are dirt cheap, great pricing from Bajaj, and i thought that Apache's brake pads are cheap which cost around Rs 358 each for front and rear :P

                        • Thanks all for replying, but as you now know I was looking for the Brake lines (the steel braided pipes) which go from the reservoir to the brake mechanism down below on the wheel.

I'm not sure if you guys know the advantage of the steel braided ones, but I needed them to improve the braking on my Ninja 250.
Not that it's bad or anything..it's just the way it should be..just that I want more
The standard PVC brake lines expand after a certain amount of pressure inside and thus the force is not put to the brakes after that certain amount. The steel braided ones do not allow expansion of the brake lines and thus whatever pressure you exert on the brake levers is used as braking force on the brake rotor only.
the ones on planet DSG are for 2600Rs. I'm sure the KTM ones would not be that costly so wanted to try them first. the KTMs are the only steel braided brake lines available on Indian bikes.. so that's the only other option I have right now.

Wow..that is so clean.. and is that the stock number plate you have or is it a new one you used?
