Are you using the rear tire hugger?
In my experience I found the bike to get less dirty WITHOUT the rear tire hugger.

The problem with it is that all the mud and dirt from the tire goes up, hits the hugger, bounces off it, and spreads dirt all over the bike, especially onto the rear central part of the bike under the seat. Without the hugger most of the dirt ends up on rear fender, where the number plate serves as extra protection.

So, you might want to try to take off the hugger and see for yourself, compare riding the bike in rain for a few days with it and few days without it.

But yes, with the hugger or without it - a Duke is one messy bike to have in rain, no two ways around it!

I dnt know ,all of a sudden,I feel my bike has lost its power,The Initial First 3 Gears Are so Slow,I feel the bike is so much under powered.
I dnt know why and how please help.
and its been a month now since my dad takes the bike everyday to work and he rides the clutch very often in traffic ,on a higher gear @ Low speed ,he gives loads of acceleration and moves ahead.
is it that my clutch plates are worn off?
my friends are saying it could be that, because off late even they have observed my dad and his riding skills
Please Help me out guys, and how much would i be charged if its the clutchplates ,and along with the clutch plates ,is it that i need to change the pressure plates and the friction plates too? :O :|

Many of you Duke users must be having the Original Duke Bike Cover. That comes for some 700 bucks.

        Is that Full waterproof ?

Change the Clutch plates. I faced the same with my Pulsar. Only thing happened was, the clutch plates have worn out completely. Sorry, no option Dude.

You should first check the chain sprocket kit for wear..if Ok then proceed with checking the clutch

Bro then proceed to check the clitch...I faced a similar problem on my cbr 250r... chain sprocket was new...the bike wouldn't exceed 125kmph with full throttle opened in 6th. They suspected clutch which I changed for 3k. Still no difference. Then they opened the engine and replaced head, block, piston. I sold the bike and booked duke 390

How much did you book it for? And any idea about On road price or ex showroom price?

Sorry for OT. I was thinking about replacing my Duke 200 with the 390, but only if price is right, else planning to wait for Triumph street triple or Daytona

The guys at mekhri circle told me that it would cost around 2.5 OTR
exactly a lakh more than the 200
The equation is simple mate,If you can't REDLINE it you don't deserve it.

I've been told to expect 2.35L OTR price. I paid 40000 and booked in Mumbai ktm south mumbai showroom. That includes Metzeler tyres and ABS. some rumours circulated long ago that they might sell the bike with a pair of handguards. let's see. June 13th r 15th is the launch. Deliveries soon after. Fingers crossed in the meantime!

2.35 OTR and mumbai is very much in-line with 2.5L OTR in Bangalore. Higher road taxes and RTO charges here. The duke 200 was about 9-10k cheaper in mumbai, so 15k difference for duke 390 sounds about right.

I just left the the showroom. I went to fill some forms for the 390 and submit documents. June 13th is the tentative launch as bajaj hasn't confirmed til today to them. Delay by a well or 2 is possible. The service guys went last week for training purposes for servicing the 390. I should get the bike by june end...
