Also you have to consider the relatively short life span of the tyres. Slicks do not last long. My tyres are 16K old and they are screaming for replacement!! One KTM engineer once told me, ideally the duke tyres should be changed at around 10-12K.
And yeah, as mentioned, you'll have to be ready to accept that the duke gets dirty ridiculoously easy and learn to clean it. Can be frustrating because you know that you've cleaned the bike only to see it dirty the same day after an hour's ride in the rains, but you gotta stick to it. Buy decent cleaning paraphernalia(plenty of pointers on this thread regarding cleaning the bike). And do not forget to clean lube the chain every week.!!
) ,your clutch cable might be the main culprit. So first get it replaced and ride for a day or two before getting your clutch plates checked. I had to get both replaced. Though with the cable changed first, there was some improvement. How much did you sell your duke for?how many KMS old was it ?
