well, your explaination was quite a handful..
    thanks..
The MRF revz provide very good grip in dry. Wet weather performance is decent too. I rode during the last Mumbai monsoons on them and I can't remember too many scary situations. They held up well. Only grouse is that the grip is pathetic in less than ideal roads. The moment you encounter dirt/debris you'll realize how pathetic the tyres are.

Also you have to consider the relatively short life span of the tyres. Slicks do not last long. My tyres are 16K old and they are screaming for replacement!! One KTM engineer once told me, ideally the duke tyres should be changed at around 10-12K.

Use more of the rear brake, which means you'll have to brake early. So it'd be almost teh reverse of what you do in dry weather: 40% front and 60% rear. Be gentle and with the front.I assume that your bike is new as this is your first rainy season with teh bike and the front brakes would still be very sharp(Oh I miss that in my bike). So you'll have to adjust your riding habit thinking that you cannot rely on sudden stops using the front , which am sure you might be doing now, given how awesome the fronts are!!

And yeah, as mentioned, you'll have to be ready to accept that the duke gets dirty ridiculoously easy and learn to clean it. Can be frustrating because you know that you've cleaned the bike only to see it dirty the same day after an hour's ride in the rains, but you gotta stick to it. Buy decent cleaning paraphernalia(plenty of pointers on this thread regarding cleaning the bike). And do not forget to clean lube the chain every week.!!

and its been a month now since my dad takes the bike everyday to work and he rides the clutch very often in traffic ,on a higher gear @ Low speed ,he gives loads of acceleration and moves ahead.
is it that my clutch plates are worn off?
my friends are saying it could be that, because off late even they have observed my dad and his riding skills
Please Help me out guys, and how much would i be charged if its the clutchplates ,and along with the clutch plates ,is it that i need to change the pressure plates and the friction plates too? :O :|
If your engine hasn't seized () ,your clutch cable might be the main culprit. So first get it replaced and ride for a day or two before getting your clutch plates checked. I had to get both replaced. Though with the cable changed first, there was some improvement.

I did asked a query seems like no-one here bought the DUKE Bike Cover from ktm ?
I'm talking about the Original one.

      Is it 100% Waterproof ?
Like those cheap one's starts absorbing water after 1 hour of rain and then sticks to Bike like a Wet Saree Poster of Sunny Leonne was made for JISM 2 Movie.

And Is it available in Black Color or just Orange ?

The one mentioned in Duke Manual you posted is a Semi-Synthetic Oil and brand name is Motorex as said by them. But I don't think Motorex is available in India (Maybe available too, some expert will tell you)

Motul 7100 : is a Full Synthetic Oil

          Bajaj DTSI 10,000 : Semi-Synthetic Oil

You can go for Motorex, Motul 5100 (Semi-Syn), Motul 7100 (Full-Syn)
What you have to look on the Bottle is "15W50, if you want to stick to the KTM's suggestion.

You just have to go through few posts of "Engine Oils" thread here on xBhp itself.

          In simple word.
          15W50 :
15 is the Cold Temp. reading
          50 is Hot temp.

You can safely use 15W50 or 20W50.
But never go for something like 15W40 / 20W40.

          Price :
          Mineral is the cheapest
Semi-synthetic more than Mineral and Full-Synthetici s the highest in Price.

I have bought a bike cover from the KTM dealer at the time of taking delivery. It was only availabe in orange when
I bought it last Oct.As for whether it is water-proof or not I can't say as I park my bike inside the garage.
It appears to be waterproof, then again appearnance could be deceptive.

Thats the online manual. I too checked this manual when i got my bike 2 weeks back. I replaced factory oil, and put Motul 5100 15w50. However, when I got my bikes manual, there it is printed 20W50. I guess its due to diffferent riding conditions in EU and India. Also online manual says quantity as 1.2 litre when changing oil, but Printed manual says 1.4 litre.

I replaced the oil again yesterday, and put Motul 7100 20w50 at 550 KMs. I had extra bottle of Motul 7100 with me, hence changed the oil.

However, with 20w50, I feel gear shift is better. You feel that positive click while shifting, which was absent when I poured Motul 5100.

My problem too. Happens exactly at 7500 rpm in every gear. sometimes around 3500 rpm in 2nd gear on a bumpy road. Have asked this question but got no replies. Had been hawk eye'ing the thread to find someone with the same problem but no dice until I saw your post.

You get that sound only when in gear. In neutral the sound is absent which is reassuring in a way in that it's not the engine. I can tell you it's not the sprocket either reason being that the sound is not present through the entire speed range. Further, Racing the bike down a slope and turning off the engine also eliminates the sound (the sprocket's still spinning though).

I have pretty much narrowed it down to clutch slipping(or something else to do with the clutch) or some cam spring but I maybe wrong. Sadly, the SVC guys here in Pune could not hear the noise when they rode my bike. But then again my fav mechanic was not around and I'll get back to you as soon as I have him take a look at the issue.

                Good luck

Am having the exact problem, Comes exactly at 7500rpm when ripping. Heard it couple of time even i neutral too. Mech said its the chain hitting the bottom end of the swing arm. he adjusted it and it was gone. But kept cropping up on bumpy road when accelerating. It was this for the past 2 weeks, now i hear the noise again at 7.5k RPM. Wonder what the problem is!

yepp my mech also told me that it is chain slap but I disagree. It almost sounds like a slipping component. Not that I have any problem in racing to redline but it still bugs the hell out of me. It's been present from day one and the pro biking people told me that the chain's pretty loose and post the first service the sound would go. 7000 Kms on the odo and the sound is till there.

                      HI,
Regarding the rev limiter probably most of us would ve identified its a joke that its locked at 7500 rpm(As the SVC guy told me). Did a 105 with a passenger, could ve gone more but felt guilty (Run-In period). Having a mild friction noise during accelerating, will have it identified and fixed.
