Re: KTM 200 Duke
Looks great !.. especially the adjustable clutch lever. Could you let us know from where and for how much you got them ? Seems to be a bit too costly on ebay.Originally posted by abhayshanu View PostHere is my bike now.
Rear grab rails removed.
Adjustable and Foldable Clutch and Brake Levers.
Smaller Sprocket - 39T.
My gear - New HJC Helmet and KTM Gloves.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
These are bought from our Xbhp Mumbai go to guys, A H Helmets. The prices are similar to the ones posted on the website. Cant say exactly how much as he gave it to me on discount. But expect prices to be above 2.2-2.3k as I checked it outside of India and the lowest I found was 2.2k inclusive of transport.Originally posted by Calculus View PostLooks great !.. especially the adjustable clutch lever. Re: KTM 200 Duke
I'm curious - how do you find the performance difference between stock 43T sprocket and the 39T you put?Originally posted by abhayshanu View PostHere is my bike now.

Does the acceleration suffer greatly?
And also, have you tried to check the top speed, is it any faster or at least more relaxed at higher speeds? I'm interested to know how would it fare on a highway when cruising at 120+ kmh...

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Hi Dukers,
I feel like my bike is under powered. I ride daily to office and I don't have much space to rev it max. But, I feel like the bike can make even more. I have not ridden any other Duke, but I want to know,
- is there any test to make sure the bike is living up-to the mark(for which it is created)?,
- whether the piston is sealed properly? and
- is there any issues with clutch plates?...etc
Appreciate your inputs.
Thanks,
ZA(K)TMKTM Lover,
Zak

Hey bro happy to help you,
Firstly if you don't ride the clutch (thats holding the clutch on all gears and riding by giving gas),Your Clutch plates are fine .!
It wont be your fuel injector for sure, because there are 3 sensors on your injector if any problem it will be displayed on your meter screen with a caution sign.!
It could probably be your FUEL Pump ,I had the similar problem Too,
But After I Just got it replaced under warranty that costs around 4.5k.
I also changed my fuel filter. and clutch CABLE.and now the bike is rocket

The best test would be to put it thru its paces on an empty stretch of road.. you can check the top speed/pickup, braking - ofcourse take care to wear at-least a helmet and ensure there is no traffic around.
- whether the piston is sealed properly? and
Get a compression test done at the SVC and compare it the recommended values from the service manual.
- is there any issues with clutch plates?...etc
Poor pick up, clutch losing its ideal setting and requiring frequent adjustment, clutch slippage, revving too much without much acceleration etc.. best would be to get this also checked by a competent mech at the service center.

doesn't work that wayOriginally posted by Xzibit Roll View PostThat means it should be gone when it cools down. But that's not happening. So is it something else?
.. the heat causes some chemical reaction with the metal and the coating on the exhaust which results in a bluish purple tinge, especially around the header area.. its normally ok.
it could be caused due to 'normal' conditions or a lean mixture causing over heating
Best to get an opinion from the svc on this just to be on the safe side.

Is it reversible then? Or covered in warranty? Will contact svc tomorrow for a better idea.Originally posted by s1d View PostSuggestions in bold

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Sorry to disappoint you but it won't stay golden for long... It loses its color gradually because of intense heat. It's normal, so don't worry. And it's not that important...Originally posted by Xzibit Roll View PostIs it reversible then? Or covered in warranty? Will contact svc tomorrow for a better idea.

As for other parts - I've had my Duke for more than 10 months, and everything except the color of that exhaust and few small scratches on stickers from using bungee cords for tank bag looks pretty much prefect, almost as in a new bike.

I really liked the look of it. Will see tomorrow if anything can be done. Thanks for the help

The bike is no more Fun, but is much more practical. I need to downshift in my usual riding speeds for overtaking where I never had to earlier. It is not because of a smaller sprocket, but because now my usual riding speeds come at the RPM range where there is no power whatsoever(4k-5k). I use to ride at 70-80 kmph and sometimes go upto 90 kmph on straight highway roads. Now I ride comfortably at 90 kmph without any stress to the engine. I did a top speed run too and I wasn't disappointed. The top speed has increased but the bike will need either more road, more power or a fairing to reach that speed. I am happy with my 90-100 kmph relaxed riding.
