Re: KTM 200 Duke
HELP!!!
guys if anybody could just help me out here. My duke ain't starting up. I was not in town for past 2 weeks and had left my duke out in the rain without any rain cover on it. (I know i am an idiot but dint knew my plans would extend for more than 3 days and it rained cats and dogs out here).
It behaving very weirdly. If i try to start the kill switch it won't start off the console doesn't come alive. if it does come on stays on for a brief 2-3mins and then again just goes dead. i managed to start the bike once and did take out for a 2mins ride but is switch the off the engine the console just decides to stay off. the indicators and headlight are running normally i don't think the battery has gone out. But i can't figure what and where the problem is. Want to take take it to the service station but the bike is not even starting. Please help me suggest me what should i do next should i show it to a local mechanic(but then I don't think they would be of any help)
Please help me I'm getting paranoid

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Just let the bike dry off. Open the seats and use a hair dryer to dry all the electrical. Then try to start the bike. If even after all this it doesn't start, try push starting(dhakka start) the bike. Once the bike is turned on successfully, let it idle for a few minutes and then ride towards the SVC. If by the time you reach the bike seems normal to you, return home as the problem is now solved and if the bike is still having electrical problems, show it to them. This is not something to be worried about, just stay calm and think straight. If you get nervous, the SVC might take advantage of that.Originally posted by hunterjack View PostHELP!!!

Its just water evaporating from the engine/radiator. Its normal and you don't need to worry. This question has been discussed many times on this thread, please feel free to search for your queries before posting, would save you alot of time.Originally posted by wallpapers123 View PostHi guys...need a little help got my duke yesterday...

Me too faced a similar problem few days back.its most probably water in fuel tank.I had to get it towed to svc, where he drained the tank, cleaned fuel filter and bike started.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Hi,
Yes its home made.
Duke 390 follows the same platform like Duke 200. There will not be a provision for main stand.
I do not have any input for ABS on Duke 200. We have to wait. I believe, Duke 200 manufactured since January 2013 has ABS provisions enabled.
The have a power socket underneath pillion seat and clamps wielded to the frame for cable routing etc.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
had my first crash and it's looking bad. The left side foot assembly is bent, the crash guards are scratched, right rear indicator gone, odometer assembly broken (the Meter has popped out) the accelerator side grip has gone, the grab rails are scratched, rear view mirror assembly is bent at an amazingly angle which makes it more useful
the plastic parts near the headlight have also popped open and some alignment problems have also come up. This is what I can see and tell so far, the svc Ppl will have a better idea. So is the damage serious? Does anybody have any idea about how much the repairs are going to cost.

Nah...you'll be fine but its sad to hear this. Hope you did not hurt yourself a lot. Will cost you a bit but then again, you can claim it from the insurance company. I had my first accident about 2 weeks ago because Pune has a very low sense and respect for traffic rules. Also had alignment problem but the SVC guys rectified it. The trellis frame can take a lot of impact (In my case a motorist stopped in the middle of the road cause a buddy of his called from across the road).Originally posted by Xzibit Roll View Post

My issue was an out of alignment fork, broken left rear view mirror, broken left foot rest and a out of alignment front brake caliper, and Bent handle. No damage to fiber parts.
Handle was not in stock with them and they aligned to fork well enough that the handle seems straight. My total expense was Rs.1997 which included a wash as well. I was given an estimate of about 2000. The SVC guys will be best able to guide you but I'd say your bill should be below 5000. Only speculating.
My acceleration seems to have taken a hit. 100 Kmph is now pushed to about 11 seconds and I am having that checked by middle of this month.
All the best man. Be careful.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Had the accident today when a idiot came for a stroll on the highway(old pune Mumbai) and I banged into him. I applied the brakes but still crashed into him. I didn't get any visible damages thanks to my riding gear. The person was drunk I suppose and thank god both of us didn't get bad injuries. It's curious though why he came running from one end of the highway to another ignoring the traffic. Can't take the bike to svc due to palkhis everywhere. Will wait for it to clear out first. Thanks for the help :-)Originally posted by SatyamDubey View PostNah...you'll be fine but its sad to hear this. Hope you did not hurt yourself a lot.
