Read an interesting description of Duke. "I don't like Duke looks like a cycle with some fairing ....." Made me laugh so wanted to share it. Maybe he never rode a Duke.
Anyways, where do you guys lock your helmets on Duke? I just place it over the RVM hoping I will find it when I return to the bike. :P

I heard that comment from a classmate, controlled my anger (or else he would get a knuckle sandwich on his face ). Helmet, i carry around with me to college, and keep it in class. Its safe there mostly and in the gym i just put it in the locker, since my bag is small and i dont carry much during workouts

yeah that's what i think that we can easily start duke by pushing it. but i had this question because many owners have reported incidents of low battery and they had to tow the bike to the service center. May be they didn't knew about pushing method..?

By general trend it's not advisable to push start a Fi vehicle, damages the fuel pump. And push start is only possible in Fi bikes if the battery has just enough juice to power the fuel pump. Otherwise its of no use at all. And the best way is the shift to 2nd gear and push start it. 1st gear push starts are also not advised.

First off FI engines, cannot be push started unlike a carburetted engines, where you twist the throttle, feed the gas and then start the engine. Fuel pump needs electricity to suck the fuel from the tank to the engine and precisely. And if the battery is drained or worse if the pump is kaput, there is no way you're gonna start the bike. The wise idea would be call in either a battery care guy or your SVC for good.

And Krish also push starting a FI bike is completely different than a carb bike, be it any gear. I wouldn't push start my bike. For example, if your FI has a problem your FI indicator automatically heads up on the display, but if your battery is kaput, you GOTTA replace/recharge the battery.

              Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
              The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

That GSR600 had some juice in its battery, but not enough to start the bike for some reason. I'l keep your advice in mind.

                • I dont think Duke can be push started with a dead battery.
                  Although it depends.
Bikes have alternators to work which are fed electricity from the battery as they need charge to work unlike old bikes as they used to start even without batteries.
It depends upon the alternators the bike boasts. Some alternators generate current any
time they rotate, regardless of whether you have a battery on, it's dead, fully charged or whatever.
And as per the excited alternators (as in Duke (i guess))...if the battery is completely discharged, you can push the bike all day and it will never start because some external current is needed to energize the field coil.
So, I think i think it all depends upon they type of charging system our bike has.

Yes, that's why I mentioned it's not advised and also the battery must have some juice left to power the pump, otherwise all the attempts are useless.

Not sure if the problem i am facing is the same as yours. But after a ride, when i switch off the engine - i can hear the tik tik tik noise. I am not sure from which part it comes from. Have faced this twice or thrice but not regularly.. Is it a serious issue ?

I'm experiencing some clicking(more like something tapping on a plastic part) sounds whenever i ride over bumps or speed breakers. i think the sound is coming from somewhere near the lower faring.checked a lot but didnt find a thing. Not sure if its something to worry about. Any ideas as to what i should do?

Dont worry, thats the Catcon in the silencer. All modern bikes with catcon makes the sound.
