  • Re: KTM 200 Duke

Yesterday I had been to Mysore, clocked 300kms. Today morning when I try to start , I hear a krrrrr sound and engine doesnt start. Later started getting low battery warning. Luckily Exide authorised showroom was 2 roads down the lane. Immediately took to battery shop. He removd the battery and checked voltage had dropped to 10.40 volts. He charged for 2 hours later engine started immiately. After 1 hour I try to start the engine. Same problem. I call up SVC guy he told me battery will have to be charged for 8 hours, also other electrical connexions will have to be checked. So he has advised me to bring the vehicle tomorow morning by doing a push start. Anybody with this scary experience pls share your experience.

    Thanks,
    Suresh

Yaah. I dont think they go through the whole list of checkups etc written in the service to do list. Anyways.
My duke's side stand sensor has started to malfunction a little. Noticed it today morning when i folded the stand back and started the bike it didnt turns out the exclamation mark didnt went off it stayed. I switched off and on but it was still there. Now a slight touch again on the stand after folding it in makes the warning sign on the console go away.

just make sure the battery connections are tight. Same thing happened to me once. The battery connection was bit loose (By bit loose i mean that screw had to be rotated by just 30degrees and nothing more.)

Anyways One old problem has resurfaced last week. Last year in monsoon whenever my bike used to get wet in rain, it refused to start. It will start only after getting dry. I had taken to SVC and corrected it but couldnt check it again as there was no rain after that. However it has gone through water washes and had no problem with them. Looks like there is a problem with my bike if it is rain for more than 15-30 minutes.

I will be moving to mumbai soon and i am worried of the monsoon there. Plus there is no shade for my bike when parked at home.

I will be taking it to SVC soon. But if someone has any idea what exactly the problem is, please let me know.

Yesterday I had a ride from Bangalore to Shivanasamudra with fellow Dukers. After 80km, the road was bumpy and full of potholes. Even in that situation, I maintained a speed of 65 . Now I am facing some problem. Suddenly the Cockpit started getting blurred for a while and back to normal in few secs (this happened while we were returning back and the road was good) this happened for a couple of times. Today I had my 1st service and I complained the same to the SVC guys, but they are asking me to take a pic of it when it happens. :O lol. Help me if any one facing the same and if any one got it resolve, then How?

Is it the console text getting blurred or is it that a Mist is formed on the Display?

                      It's the Text.

Guys from Bangalore, suggest some good petrol bunks near KR Puram / Vasanth Nagar. Currently I am using Shell Super near KRPuram, but not satisfied. Facing some Jerking issues with my D200.

Yesterday visited BTM layout SVC where I left my duke. The service guy told that battery is not able to retain current even after 8 hrs of charging. So decided battery should be returned bck to exide. Worst thing is I might have to wait till SVC hear back from exide about real problem and then replace. SVC doesnt keep any stock of spare batteries and that battery is not available in after market also. Very very bad. ddnt expect this from Bajaj/KTM to fit a battery that is not available outside their showrooms and will have to wait for so long.

hi guys, i am going for the first service in few days i want to know that should i change the engine oil to motul 7100 or stick with the bajaj oil till second service. Looks like one of the sensors is acting up.. a thorough inspection of the same will help you get rid of the problem. Actually this is one of the most common complaints that i have come across Dukes from my friends who are not associated with xbhp.. I guess the later iterations of Dukes from the factory should solve this problem.

                            Cheers,

How much does it cost to change your oil from pro-biking showroom? What is the capacity? And it's motul 7100 right?

I checked today wit SVC the service guy told he did run the diagnostic tool and did not find any problem with sensors. I was told that I have to wait till monday to get o know what is the problem. Pathetic an frustrating all service centers seems to be the same irresponsive. They tell m no spare batteries available cant believe it.
