        Hey NESTO,

the aftermarket exhausts won't give much of a performance increase in our small capacity bikes. I read an article somewhere that it's generally in the range of ~5-8% which would be just 1 hp extra in our case. So unless you're going in for some other reason for these exhausts i.e. sound, looks etc., I don't think its VFM IMHO. Please go through the internet and I'm sure you'll find relevant articles to this.

        On a side note,

Guys, first service is coming up, plan to take the bike on Sunday. Any pointers i should look for? Planning to get the oil changed to either Motul 5100 or shell Advance Ax7, apart from the regular servicing stuff. Any suggestions or reminders would be welcome

        Regards

Hey Bro, reach the service center as early as possible between 7 am to 8 am so that you can come out early . Just stick to the same mineral oil for the first service, then after 1000 km from then change to fully synthetic Motul 7100. Ask them to clean the Radiator if needed (lot's of dust and mud been accumulated on mine). Keep the manual along with you and even if they ask you to sit, try to supervise the servicing and check all the points mentioned in the manual for free servicing. Hope this helps.

          • The chain off my bike is definately rubbing against sumthing and i can hear the noise even when i drag the bike when engine is off. The service guys tight and lube the chain and the sound goes but it reappears within a day or two, this has been going on for the last two months the service guys are not able to find a solution. My bike is from the 2013 lot and i dont think i should face all this problems as in the new bikes all the problems have been sorted out. Wat should i do????? plzzzz reply guys

I have been experiencing the same problem. It used to be worse before where you could hear loud Khat khat noise. After I took it to SVC they opened the front sprocket, cleaned and lubed it and noise was gone for good.

Slowly a khrrr sound started developing and again I took it to SVC and this time they cleaned rear sprocket and lubed chain and the sound was gone. Will take it to SVC again if hear sound again. I still hear sound from chain but it is negligible so I don't bother a lot.

Most of the times it comes bcoz of unlubricated chain. I faced this earlier and after lubricating its gone. Only sol is get the chain clean and lubricated when ever you feel so and also ask them to check the sprocket.

Just got a mail from KTM Langford, that they are organizing an event colled DO IT YOURSELF, where they bring an KTM engineer and we can can blow out all the questions on him. As a part of that event, they are also gonna share product updates on RC8 and D390. So, hope I get enough info about D390 and post it here.

Sounds great. Any idea if such event will be organized across country?

                    • Some moron dropped my bike today, while it was parked (and i wasnt present ). Luckily only the clutch lever was bent and few scratches on the leg guard. Replaced the lever immediately, only Rs.130/-. Phew! was pissed off all evening, then just laughed it off because the bike was fine .

                      Cheers!

                        • Front Suspension Brainstorming

So heres a thought. Keeping in mind my ascending adventure craving I think i want to lift up my Duke's front suspensions. The way local mechanics do is by attaching additional metal washers or seals i guess. Any of you guys may know what exactly they do please tell.
As per my thinking goes this surely is a way but i guess the springs inside can be changed too in order to change the travel. Though it may compromise the hardness and softness but keep that aside for a moment. We could do a lot of measuring of the springs and fancy math with spring rates, compressed vs. free length, wire diameter and spacing, weight distribution, momentum and rotational vs. angular force, but we won't do that 'cause it gives me hurty-brain (and it's not
necessary).. I like it the dirty way.
Please help. Chip in with any ideas you guys could help with. Really need it. Thanks.

                          • Facing a problem in my new beast. Suddenly it is getting turned off (Very rare), but twice in a day at-least Gear shifting is pissing me off(from 2nd to 1st). It is not responding quite quickly, I am putting effort for 2,3 times to shift it down to 1st gear (really embarrassing in traffic). Help me on this.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                              The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                              THE END
