Guys,
Need some advice on New Duke. I'm getting my Duke on this Saturday. Planning to go to my home town on Tuesday that is 800 km both ways. Is it advisable to run this long in the first week itself? Please help. Thanks in advance.

Hey duke22,

Congratulations on getting the beast! I don't think there should be any issue with doing what you're planning. Just keep these things in mind:-

1. Get comfortable with the riding position for long rides.
2. Take short breaks every hour or so and let the bike cool down a bit.
3. Keep an eye on the heat indicator as always
4. Don't lug the engine for a long duration. try to vary the revs whenever possible. There are different schools of thought regarding running in of the engine, I suggest you look them up on the initial posts of this thread.

Have a nice time ahead!

How many among us or know some duke owner who has changed their sprocket. The query is to find out the life of the sprocket.

Thanks in advance

Just got my fuel filter replaced during my 3rd service. I mentioned about the 1st and 2nd gear jerking, the SVC suggested replacing it. I'm yet to ride the bike in the city at low speeds to notice. I'll report back. Btw seems like my Duke cant touch 138kmph top speed, so yeah the ECU was flashed. :\

Help I want too loosen my duke's clutch. It's very hard to pull and makes my palms hurt if I'm riding through traffic. There's no information regarding this in the manual. So is it possible to diy or will I have to go to svc? The clutch was tightened during the first servicing when I reported the problem of gears not engaging properly, not sure if tightening thee clutch helps in any way. :what:

Hi Evander_F, even i had the same kind of jerking issues with my duke(Just finished 1st servicing) at low speeds(especially on 1st, 2nd & 3rd gears). I asked the SVC ppl to check but they just cleaned the spark Plug instead of changing the fuel filter . Then on-wards I am riding my bike on high revs to avoid jerking, but my bike is getting turned off suddenly if I apply full clutch(especially when my bike is at 4th gear) whenever I face some hurdles on the road(potholes/Speed breakers). This is happening occasionally but feeling very bad on the roads. This I am asking not only for Evander_F but also to everyone, HOW TO GET RID OF THIS?

Maybe the pads have worn out. Try changing them. Did you clean the disc too? There may be some dirt stuck to it.

Also do you have any idea on how to loosen the clutch? My clutch lever is very tight and it hurts my hand.

hunkofgals the squeaky brake issue can be solved by scrubbing the brake pads. Use some sand paper with fine grit. Or else replace the brake pads.

I have cleaned the brake pads with grit paper and still the sound exists and yea even the disc is cleaned

Just 6000 Kms
Do u think the disc plate or disc pads are worn ??

And regarding loosening of clutch

U have two bolts near the clutch wore which is attached to the engine side ( right ) loosen one of the bolt and u can adjust with the other bolt to ur desired play

If I'm wrong please so correct me
