^^ He has mentioned it's for his wife..
To answer, I am 5'6 and I do have difficulty in planting both my feet on the ground... 1 feet I can easily place if I tilt the bike to one side... easy to handle and move around while riding, however, the weight is centered, therefore your wife may find it a bit difficult when parking or while it's stationery. Best bet is to test ride and check it out ..

Tank range in the highway
Hi Guys,
Any of you have done longish trips on the Duke? How many kms till you start looking for a fuel station? I will be doing a 600kms one way trip day after. City riding does not give the correct figures. Your experiences will help.

I would suggested as Duke is a FI system bike, so it's better to get your tank full when ever to see 3/4 of fuel is used up! This will help you in all stages. rather than a fried FI pump or any any chance of running out of fuel!Originally posted by lakhpati View PostHi Guys,

hey Somen thanks for your reply. Can you let me know how many kms from full to 3/4 used up and how many kms till the low fuel warning turns up? at speeds of 80-100 kmph.Originally posted by somen1984 View PostI would suggested as Duke is a FI system bike, so it's better to get your tank full when ever to see 3/4 of fuel is used up! Expect an economy of around 45-50 kmpl when on the highways. This includes riding at around 100-120 for long stretches.
Now the fuel indicator warning would starts flashing normally even when around 3-3.5 ltrs of fuel still remaining, at least in my case. This may be a safety measure to avoid fuel pump damage.
Now you do the math

I haven't checked the user manual, but anyone here knows what's the reserve fuel capacity? The showroom guy told me 3 liters, some other guy said 2 liters but when i check the console JUST when the low fuel light comes on, it shows "range "as 1.5 times the current fuel economy, so that makes me believe it's 1.5L. :SLast edited by dishayu; 12-12-2012, 07:28 PM.Bajaj Pulsar 150 : 2004-2005

Got a new clutch plates installed on my bike and it pulls better now. Front and rear pads were changed too.
The bite is back now. Also front brake oil was replaced. THe brake lever free play has reduced and it is like when I purchased the bike. I think if level of oil goes down the ree play increases. Will get the rear oil replaced in 2k-5k more kms.
Only thing left now is the chain-sprocket set replacement. I didn't go for the stock kit as am looking to overgear my duke. I have my eyes set on the Karima rear sprocket. Has anyone changed their sprockets to any other make?
Should I use the chain too from the Karizma kit if I do use the Karizma rear sprocket? The pitch is same for both(.520).
Also will the acceleration decrease drastically with the 40 teeth Karizma sprocket?
What if I use a 15 teeth front with the 40 teeth rear? Will the bike become super slouch in city?
I know the sprockets thread is more appropriate for this query but still...
edit :Ohhh..and the malfunction light didn't come on at the svc. And hasn't shown up till now. So the duke seems to be a self healing bike
This time I went to ghatkopar svc for a change. They did get my bike serviced on a saturday, which is now impossible in seawoods. So a big thumbs up from me!!Last edited by Doga; 12-12-2012, 09:38 PM.The hero always RIDES into the sunset!

Spent some time with my friend's Kiirus tuned D200 this weekend. I must say, i again fell in love with the Duke. The Pull was amazing and the way it popped 2nd gear wheelie was just awesome. Hit 140km/hr with some more revs left to go.
Heard that Kiirus now has a new tune for D200 that increases power by 5 bhp. My friend has already sent his ECU for the re-tune. Hope to enjoy this monster even more .Street racing is for Squids trying to make up for their small equipment

I'm thinking about getting Kiirus map. Can you please compare the stock vs. Kiirus Dukes in little more detail?Originally posted by riot View PostSpent some time with my friend's Kiirus tuned D200 this weekend. In fact I wanted to get Kiirus months ago but then I heard about Race Dynamics and their piggyback ECU solution, and have been waiting for them for already few months. And I finally visited them a week ago in Bangalore and tried thoroughly their map(s).
At the moment they are waiting for connectors for ECU, which should arrive very soon, and then will be ready to sell it.
However, the map itself wasn't really finished, it's still being worked on. We tried several different maps on my bike and I did 4-5 test rides.
The first map was made for first (old) stock ECU map and it wasn't good on my bike which has a new stock map. (Piggyback solution filters the signals through the stock ECU, so if the ECU map is changed then the piggyback map has to be changed as well).
Then they modified it and it was much better, with much better pull across entire rev range.
We tried few more tunings, based on my feedback, I was asking to mostly improve the power output from 4000 to 6000 rpm, where the stock power output is lower than after 7000 rpm, and managed to have increased power output across entire rev range. Imagine having a power that's available from 7,000 to 10,000 rpm in entire rev range, all the way to 11,800 rpm... The map still wasn't very smooth, but I'm sure it can be done if they test it properly.
Overall, it'll be a nice thing, but it made me thinking because they STILL haven't really made AND properly tested a good map, but also the map would have to be redone if the ECU is remapped by KTM.
And it'll probably be priced at 15,000 Rs, which is 5,000 Rs more than Kiirus.
I did a 600km ride the other day.Originally posted by lakhpati View PostHi Guys,

Well, from my experience the fuel economy changes a lot depending on the speed. I did some half an hour of constant 95 kmh and the console stabilized at 39 kmpl.
But if you go faster then kmpl figure goes down pretty fast.
I did a tank full to tank full measure at a stretch where I was going on average from 120 kmh to 130 kmh, and the fuel economy was around 28 kmpl.
This is all in 6th gear, of course.
So, it's up to you - if you go around 70 kmh you'd probably be able to get close to 50 kmpl, but if you redline it then it's around half of that...
