Re: KTM 200 Duke
I also tried the Pipercross without the air box, actually have tried & tested extensively the ECU remap & filter combination with different setup likeOriginally posted by Deathmate.Zed View PostUsing it without the air box. Motozone gave a screw-on frame with it so using that. Need your advice, Can I use it in the box and gain full benefit of the air filter?
1) No airbox,
2) With airbox without the intake pipe,
3) With airbox without intake pipe and another hole for intake.
But discovered that in all this, the resonance created by the air inside the airbox(stock setup) is the best.
Engineer's have made the airbox and the pipe for a reason, without it and other setup the bike runs out of air in mid range, say 4-6k rpm when you twist open the throttle, bcz at that time there's no existing air. And same at the top-end.
Conclusion, Paper filter replaced in stock airbox & intake pipe with Pipercross with no major bump in performance but I can feel that the bike breathes smoother & cleaner..
PS: I also ruined a filter in 2 days, brutal & aggressive testing. Returned it to MotoZone and now getting a new one in a couple of days...
Edit: Money spent on a Pipercross filter with lifetime warranty, Worth It!!!

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Spray painting the existing rims is not a good idea in my opinion, because eventually that paint will come of as its done without sanding the existing black paint. So it doesn't hold for long.Originally posted by wallpapers123 View PostVery good will try to find someone in Pune..BTW is it spray painting or anything else???

If you want longevity I'll suggest go for powder coating, but that will cost you more as compared to the prices of the rims itself.
Instead go for the 390 rims if you want Orange. D200s front costs 3300 and afaik the siblings share the same alloys..

I asked the same to the painter..he said the paint will last 2 yrs..and moreover if one chip paint himself then it will peel off, and after spending 1k only we can get new look for our duke, I also laminated my dukes tank, rim stickers, cowl stickers,Originally posted by Sanchit Arora View PostSpray painting the existing rims is not a good idea in my opinion, because eventually that paint will come of as its done without sanding the existing black paint. That's the point, when you're riding, even if one stone hits the rim, the color will peel off, leading to more.Originally posted by rohitj View PostI asked the same to the painter..he said the paint will last 2 yrs..and moreover if one chip paint himself then it will peel off, and after spending 1k only we can get new look for our duke, I also laminated my dukes tank, rim stickers, cowl stickers,

So no point going for spray paints.
And what do you mean by lamination?
Do you mean the so called "Teflon Coating"??

Re: KTM 200 Duke
By lamination means a thin transparent sheet aaplied on side of the tank and also on display, and I also did foaming on seats and now seats are much softer as I usually do long trips on my duke. I just want to try paint scheme on rims may be first I go for rear rim alone will update you guys about the quality of paint.Originally posted by Sanchit Arora View PostThat's the point, when you're riding, even if one stone hits the rim, the color will peel off, leading to more.

Re: KTM 200 Duke
Got my baby new shoes a couple of days back..
It's a stock setup of Ninja300, IRC RX-01 Road Winner Front 110/70/17 Rear 140/70/17.
They do take some running to get warmed up, but once they do, they stick like real rubber....
The bike also feels more planted as these are heavier than the stock MRF Revz...
After boasting of not ever facing a coolant overspill on my bike I have had two occurrences in two weeks now
. This started ironically after the "high coolant temperature" issue was fixed. I think the reason might be overfilling by svc. Rehman first replenished coolant since some was lost when he pulled out the temp sensor.
The other mech the n pored some more during the paid service which I got done the same day. The first day when the spill happened I thought Ok, self correction. Now that the radiator has vomited out the extra coolant it'll run fine, but no. Same spill, same place, at the ghatkopar turn to LBS marg.
I tried playing cool despite the horrifying look on fellow commuters' face. Yeah man you dont' know, high tech bike, you gotta keep cool and put up with shit..err gushing coolant
May be the radiator cap needs tightening or some other mumbo jumbo!
Oh and this happened on my way to office from svc. yes I was there in the morning. To change the fuel tank which was leaking gas.I had called the svc on Wednesday and was told to come on Friday, since at least two days notice is must for the good people to better plan and execute the replacement. The fuel tank was in stock I was told. So I wake up early today and headed to the svc. And what am I told on reaching?
"Sir fuel tank to nahi hai..us din galti se bol diya tha...fuel tank ke box me fuel filter rakhe the, bina check kiye bola tha!! "
"Oh is it? to fir kab aayega stock?"
"order kar diya hai, phone karenge"
Who would bet that they'd call when stock arrives?[/QUOTE
Seawoods service is pure shit the only good thing about it is the mechanics rehman n to some extent sachin as well. The manager tushar n the other fat guy who i thnk is also a manager are big time pain in the wrong place, both of them just so make u feel unwelcome n they act asif they are doing us a favour by working on r bikes which is their due job. So i suggest u that u should for sure try out the ghatkopar service as i feel they do a much better jobLast edited by sanjana k; 01-21-2014, 10:31 PM.

You are right. The look on the face of that guy when you arrive at the svc is off putting.Kind of like " aa gaya fir se ".Originally posted by sanjana k View PostSeawoods service is pure shit the only good thing about it is the mechanics rehman n to some extent sachin as well. The manager tushar n the other fat guy who i thnk is also a manager are big time pain in the wrong place, both of them just so make u feel unwelcome n they act asif they are doing us a favour by working on r bikes which is their due job. I have mentioned numerous times that the only saving grace for the seawoods svc is Rehman.
The workshop manager makes you feel very unwelcome, especially if you had some kind of disagreement with him on a prior occasion. Very disappointing. He'll try to come up with numerous excuses not to accept your bike or play down issues and ascribe them to 'wear and tear'.
Ghatkopar is better at least as far as manager conduct/behaviour is concerned. Quality of job, I am not so sure. Have been there couple of times, decent but nothing out of ordinary. The hero always RIDES into the sunset!
