Got some nice bar end mirrors and bar end weights, no more ugly mirror stalks and also vibes reduced at handlebars due to the weights.

A looker indeed. Don't forget to provide the details, price and the DIY time factor for the mirror setup.

SVC refuses to remove the rust and repaint the frame. What do i do ?
Once paint start to peel from chassis, they form a continuous peel pattern and overtime lead to rusting. As the bhpian pointed out, get the chassis thoroughly primered and powder coated from an experienced hand.

        Guys,
I having this false neutral problem in my 1.5 years old D200.
Some say false neutral will happen at higher gear but for me it is happening whenever im shifting from 1st to 2nd(Obviously neutral is between).
But even with proper shifting it goes to neutral, once it goes to neutral, i have to always pull gear lever harder to shift to 2nd(but it is not smooth).

So i wanted to know, it is my bad habit that im not shifting gear properly or any mechanical problem with the bike??
        TIA

P.S : It is NOT going to 2nd and coming back to N. It is directly going to N and then i have to engage the clutch and change it to 2nd. Very annoying.

If this will be your only bike for commuting then drop the idea of duke . Go for commuter bike instead

So Ive done a little above 22k kms and I just got my bike serviced and got some repairs done. The front fender needed to be replaced so I got the new 250 fenders installed. Looks pretty sleek. Got the new black handlebar too. Love how it looks.

My question is, is there any chance I can get the 250 headlights installed on my 200? Maybe not right? I guess because the console is different?

Also, could anyone suggest me a place to get a tail tidy kit in Kolkata?

                Why not the Dominar ?
                D200 is not pillion friendly.

Nice man.. how much did the 250 front fender cost ? I also need to replace mine.. the d200 fender iirc is around 800rs.
I think the headlight can be swapped with the one from 250. the 250 doesn't use led.. and i am pretty sure the wiring would be plug and play and maybe even the mounting is straightforward. just my assumption as i haven't really seen them headlight units side by side.. the d200's stock headlight unit costs Rs.1400

Clutch adjustment should be your problem. Inspect your clutch play and observe if you have very little to no clutch play. Get your clutch play adjusted. Secondly, reduce the clutch bite point to a notch lower so that the clutch doesn't bite at the extreme end of clutch lever throw. This coupled with the right clutch play would mean smoother gear shifts. Too low a clutch play or too low a clutch bite adjustment would mean harder gear shifts and almost no shifts.

If all these are at the right spec, check your gear shifter tie rod adjusted for excess slack.

                  Cheers!

                  • Need help to get my RPM increasing issue fixed.

                    Hi all,
I own a Duke 200 2012 model and clocked around 30000 kms on it. I live in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. My duke has started giving issue where the RPM keeps increasing all of a sudden while riding. I have to press the kill switch to get rid of it every time. When I took it to Noida service centre(I don't personally like their service but not much options available here), they said my throttle body has issues and need to be replaced. They told that you would need to get your clutch plate changed to which will obviously imply for the engine oil change. So, that's around 10K he has estimated. I plan to sell this bike within a year. Should I go for any local mechanics in noida? Can my throttle body be checked for repair first before replacement? Any local shops to get the Duke 200 spare parts? Need advice from some experts who have ever faced this issue or know about this issue. I surely can't live with this issue as it ruins my riding experience.

High RPM during riding, ruling out throttle cable is routed correctly would mean, a faulty idler motor. This is the motor that controls the idle RPM of the engine which is located on the throttle body. If the RPM shoots high and erratic RPM can mean a faulty stepper motor. This stepper motor can be replaced, but before that, I'd suggest you to thoroughly get your throttle serviced and cleaned. And no, your clutch doesn't require to be replaced or even the engine compartment to be touched for that matter. Get your throttle body serviced, get that stepper motor checked and get the bike connected to the diagnostic tool and the error codes checked, if any.

Nonetheless, your engine isn't required to be touched or for that matter clutch or oil.

                      Cheers!

Posting a bit late, but better late than never. I got the output shaft almost after 2-3 weeks and had the engine completely opened up to get it fitted. I had to say goodbye to the factory fit since this would be the first time my engine would be opened up. The output shaft had a crack in it which caused the oil to leak from the front sprocket area. The outer mechanism itself was not broken, just an internal component of it. I will update this post in the evening when I get home.

Finally, after getting the part replaced and engine sealed, it was not the end (and still isn't) because oil was still leaking from an O-ring which seals the front sprocket. Got that changed almost twice. Then again there were leaks from plug drain area and finally, the gaskets still leak a small amount of oil. I must have gone to the svc almost 3-4 times to rectify these issues. What a waste of my time to go there personally and get it done. I did take a leave in between just to get the bike fixed.

For the output shaft and consumables, I paid Rs.2000/- and for the labor charges I paid Rs.4000/-. A total of Rs.6000/-

KTM does sell an amazing product to its customers but the after sales service guys completely ruin the experience.

I have seen a Duke 200 with a 250 headlamp. At that point, the owner was in a hurry and I couldn't click a picture. I observed the following:

                        - The headlamp is not a direct bolt-on. You will need to modify the triple-clamp (possibly drill a hole maybe) to bolt the headlamp top screw.

                        - You will lose out your center lock functionality, as your key will have to be moved to some other location. The duke that I saw, had the key just zip tied to the handle bar.

You can maybe look for Autologue design's headlight replacement since it was designed and made, keeping the Duke 200 in mind.

Hello, I bought a KTM RC 200 in august 2016 and I recently had it serviced on Jan 20th and bought it from hyd to sullurpet.
I noticed that the engine case is getting oilier everyday and the ere are black oil markings on my rear tyre rim. Someone noticed and told me the engine oil is leaking from somewhere. I'm attaching a couple of pics. Can someone please tell me what the issue is and how to resolve? And did it happen to anyone else before?

From the looks of it, it seems you have a very serious, valve cover gasket leak. The leak has tricked down and accumulated near the lower end of the engine. Also the oil that you see near the gear shift lever, can be caused due to excess chain lube or oil. Most SVCs use, used oil to lube the chain and they're pretty generous on that one at least. Excess lube gets sprayed over the rims and makes a mess near the output shaft sprocket, the black goop. Wash your bike thoroughly, replace the valve cover gasket, get all the engine bolts re-torqued and top up if required.

                            Cheers!

Holy shit. Will it be covered in warranty? And the nearest service center is 80kms from here. Should I drive to that place? And no, they used the spray clean and lube. The deposits are increasing everyday. I got the service done in KTM kachiguda.
Any estimate on how much money it'll set me back by?

if your bike is under warranty, yes it will be covered under warranty. the valve cover leak is a common occurrence (most cases just a minor weep of oil) and in your case seems worse. suggest you get the bike throughly washed first, and then observe for a couple of days if that area around the valve cover is the only place from which oil is leaking. if there are leaks at other places, then those gaskets/seals might also have to be replaced.
the valve cover gasket comes along with the 4 rubber washers that go on the top along with the bolts that hold the valve cover down.

i've myself had the minor weep, and the gasket was replaced under warranty (the svc will try to say its not under warranty, but you have to be firm and get them to do it under warranty). when they replace the gasket, ask them to use a bit of gasket sealant along with it (bajaj itself provides this sealant in a grey tube from the brand loctite).. the sealant needs to be applied especially around the area of the gasket that has the O--O.
