Thanks for that, but how exactly is it OT? Its a discussion on the reserve method, whether it should be done or not in the Duke.

I am yet to see above 50 kmpl on the 'real time fuel efficiency indicator'. The lesser you wring the throttle in gear, the higher the reading it will show. However it will also give you an average read for the whole trip as well. I did a couple of stretches, and when I tanked up and checked, the odo showed 31kmpl, and I got around 32 kmpl. So it was pretty much the same.

A silly query. I want to wash my bike. How to go abt it? Normal bikes are washed directly just by removing the seat.but dukes battery is just below rider seat.even if i dont remove the rear seat and wash the bike, wont the water go near the battery? And what abt monsoons????womt water drip insde? The sales guy also told that air intake is to the right side of rear seat??? Wont water go in it?
I havent washed my bike since delivery(24th april) till today.may be im being paranoid.need answers.plz help.thanx
Keep it in the shade or away from direct sunlight. After washing, start the bike and ride it around a bit, so that any and all water lodged in hidden areas can either evaporate or fall off. Thats what the recommendation was from the showroom.

+1 to that, i am in the same boat hopefully till the first service.

Guys i just realised that the allen screws on top of the fuel tank cap, some of them just keep turning round and round as if there is no grip and some are tight. What can be done for this.

Add this to PDI list as it should be checked during time of delivery.

      • ^^ Check what they are mounted on. If they have a rubber grommet underneath, its alright. They need to be tight only upto a certain point. However if they are excessively loose then its a cause for concern.

            • Fuel gauge reading

Found this info. on a post in team-bhp.

P.S. The fuel gauge was an important point of discussion. Mr. Pingle did share a view of one of their internal charts with us.
Apparently at 2 bars, there is 1.5 to 2.5 Liters in the tank.
              From there onwards
              3 bars = 3 L
              4 bars = 4 L
              5 bars = 5 L
              6 bars = 6 L
              7 bars = 7 L
              8 bars = 8 L
              9 bars = 9+ L (full tank)

Once you get your Low Fuel warning, you have safely around 25-30 kms to find fuel.

Janesh, some of the allen screws on the tank cap are dummy. They're there just to make things look symmetrical. May be those are the ones turning.

Thanks Shreeda, now my concern is that it can be possible for some one to remove / pull out the loose allen screws. If so i would like to fix them using loctite or fevibond so atleast it wont turn, giving someone the idea to remove them.
Or as an alternative, go for a round sticker so that the screws are not visible

Address : S.No. 49/2, Plot No. 32, Chandan Nagar, Nagar Road, Pune

I inquired for Motul 300 v and Motul 5100 both were available. Prices are as follows:-

                          Motul 5100 - Rs 430
                          Motul 300 v - Rs 800
This should help you...but you may need to coax them to order you the 7100 OR just go for the 300v, I hear its allowed by the SVC guys but as always check with them and then make your purchase.
Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

I will say its in between. But more towards unicorn. Today after doing around 2700kms, i used full synthetic motul 7100 20w50 oil. The engine really became butter smooth. Gear shifts were also very smooth. Loving the engine. So want to take my bike for a spin.

It calculates every 800 meters...as per the Chennai Service Engineer of KTM .. informed today in the DIY session that was held.
