    thanks

no , i changed it to pirelli sport ( ultimate grip - front same 120/70/17 but rear is 140/70/17 { nd stock one is 150/60/17} but pirelli grip too sexy on road on even hills too )

just ultimate grip buddy off road , on road - on hills too .. stock one's cant match with pirelli in grip
Can you upload some pics of the exhaust pipe please.

I feel many bikers have a rough, metal peeling effect on their exhaust pipe because of water getting spilled on it.

My Duke's exhaust pipe was perfectly okay before the rains but now it looks sheer ugly.

All fellow Duker's - please also give your thoughts on this..

            • People complaining about the khat khat noise from chain try to remove the front cover and clean the front sprocket and lube it, make sure all the teeths on the front sprocket is covered by lube. In my case the noise was from the front sprocket and not from the chain hitting the swing arm. Also it goes without saying that to maintain the correct slackness (5-7 mm) and make sure that there is a rubber present on the swing arm.

AFAIK You can switch to a different manufacturer or/and different patterns but its always recommended to stick to stock size as it may hamper the handling. So how does it handles? And what did You do with the stock tyres?

Just a quick note: going down one "size" in width isn't going to mess up the handling. Actually, narrower tires turn faster than wide ones. On a bike as weak as the Duke 200, a 150 is really overkill, and was put on for looks. A 140 will be just fine, and the bike will probably turn more easily. My old GSXR1100 had a 160 rear as stock, and it had way more power to deal with than the little Duke.

Yeap i too had same issue till yesterday till i opened front part of chain cover and found this. After cleaning sound is gone and somehow shifting gears seems as cutting butter with Hot knife....cleaned it; and lubricated the whole part.

                      • @The Mountain: What about the profile of the tyre? Do we need to stick to the stock or can that be manipulated as well?

                          • Duke 200 as a tourer- please share the experience.

Form what I see, the Duke is finally playing its role as a tourer.

With 19 Nm of torque it is every bit of bike which a tourer can be, what I need to know that how comfortable it got while going for long hours constantly.

Its because we are having Delhi to Jammu trips here and also 10 plus hours riding, which speaks a lot about this bike !!!

i did delhi jammu in 10+ hours with 2 breaks of 45 min each. First break was not planned. I overtook two enfields, then thought came to mind maybe they r too going to jammu and ill have company. I slowed down and saw tthat those r foreigners. Just hands shook from bothsides. Suddenly the couples bike started to dance, i drove behind them in their lane and diverted the traffic so that they can move aside. We all stopped only to learn that they r from Norway and less on english. Couldnt leave them in that state so helped them with tyre. They left for Chandigarh and me for Jammu. Other break was for lunch and coffee.
I never felt pain or discomfort even for few seconds. Average speed was some 70+ km shown on speedo. I rode with constant speed of 112-115 km and touched 125 a lot of times. The avearge i got till Jalandher was 45+ km/l . 380 km of journey in between Delhi and Jalandher was done in 290 min with 8 litres of petrol. U can calculate the average speed and average mileage. I had to ride Duke in heavy rain for some 68 km. I rode with constant speed of 70-80 km in rain but i never felt that bike tyres will give away. Passed through water nearly 4 inches deep-had no time to brake but bike just went through it like knife in Hot butter. Yes speed decreased a little due to resistance of water but everything went fine.
For me Duke has become best bike for Journey. Now i cant even imagine travelling without it.
