If the ecu is remapped will the power band gets shifted to the top end?Check out Stage1Auto ECU. Amazing stuff but needs some mods in the vehicle.Originally posted by hunkofgals View Postit depends on how u get ur ecu tuned !
The Powertronic (for bikes) ECU costs somewhere around 16,000-17,000
but for using the top performance levels, you will have to install a high performance air filter and a free flow exhaust.. so it will cost you 30,000-40,000 overall.
EDIT: There are 5 performance levels on Powertronic. Three could be used on the stock vehicle. For level 4 and 5 you will have to make the above mentioned changes.Last edited by devil_rider; 06-25-2012, 11:45 AM.The best alarm clock is sunshine on chrome.

Please HELP!!!
Is anyone facing problems of chain rusting... On Saturday when I took my bike out after an entire week and was cleaning it, I saw some rusting marks on the chain.
When contacted the SVC for the same - those people said that it happens because of rains.
Please HELP!!!
And the exhaust pipe has all of a sudden gone bizarrely ugly right after rains. I guess it happens when water falls on the hot exhaust pipe. I'll try and upload some pictures.Last edited by devil_rider; 06-25-2012, 12:35 PM.The best alarm clock is sunshine on chrome.

There should be a PDI list on the thread here somewhere. It was probably posted Janesh.J, kindly search the thread. I think it was the same as CBR250 one.
With regards to the run-in, the recommended run-in is just maintaining it below 7500 rpm. This roughly translates to around 80-85 in sixth gear. I personally didnt follow this and used the bike as i normally would even taking it up to 120kmph. I've run 2500kms as of now and haven't had any problems. I'd recommend an oil change and filter change before 500kms though.
In other news, the past week has been quite terrible with me having two minor spills including one today morning.

People running across the road without seeing both sides should be stoned in my book.
Especially when they have earphones on and can't even hear people honking on the road.

Result is a damaged crash/leg guard, torn grips and steering misalignment. Don't think the forks are bent though. Can anyone tell me the cost of the guard and grips and also how I can check the steering and fork alignment?

Technically, yes, it's normal. However, it does mean you're neglecting your chain. Proper maintenance for an open-chain bike means weekly cleaning and lubrication, especially in wet weather or dusty/dirty environments. Following that schedule, there will always be enough lube on the chain to protect the bare metal from rusting.Originally posted by devil_rider View PostIs anyone facing problems of chain rusting... The generally-accepted "routine" for a bike is that you do a walk-around every time you get on, or at least every morning. Check for things like loose bolts, worn cables, rubbing parts, check the tire wear and brake pad wear, check the chain for tension, kinks/frozen links and for proper lube, check the sprockets for unusual wear.
Then every week, take an hour, and do a full check-up. Test all the levers and adjust as necessary, check the clutch freeplay, clean the bike, clean and lube the chain, top off the oil and coolant if necessary. When you wash, don't use a pressure washer, since it will blast the lube off the chain and force water into the sealed bearings in the swingarm and steering head, as well as other areas. Use a regular hose, a soft brush and a sponge. A good source for a sponge is the foam from a mattress. Get a block about 8" x 6" x 6", as it will hold more water and soap, and that kind of dense foam is soft so it won't damage the bike's paint or decals.ATGATT: All The Gear, All The Time!

Below is the checklist posted on the CBR thread. Hope this covers most of the stuff we need to check, some of them are specific to that vehicle.
1 Ensure the chain is lubed well
2 "No visible scratches on the fairings, esp when it comes to the bottom part of the fairings"
3 Mirrors aren't very tight but bolted tight
4 Check for instrumentation panel & surrounding for scratches
5 Check if the instrumentation is working as per the buttons
6 Make sure you have more than 4 liters of fuel
7 Do look for abnormal gaps in the fairings
8 Check the engine undercowl's front beak; some display/test bikes have had it split open
9 Ask for topped up coolant
10 Ensure vehicle can be locked properly
11 Ensure all the engine kill, light switches & brake lights are working. Check atleast 2-3 times
12 Check for rusts anywhere on the metal parts (Frame, forks, brake pedal)
13 Check for first aid kit
14 Check for tool kit & number of pieces 9 pieces
15 Ensure that the alloy wheels are balanced (there should be weights on the alloy wheels) or ask those guys
16 Saree guard is available as standard with the bike while the number plates are not. But the plate holders are available with the bike
17 Invoice copy
18 Insurance copy
19 Pollution under control sticker
20 Ensure that RC book & tax token will be delivered in specific number of days
Sad to hear that dude.. take it to the svc. they'll fix it. People should be more careful while crossing roads.Originally posted by NiXTriX View PostCongrats..

Total cost would run up to couple of thousand bucks I guess.Last edited by devil_rider; 06-26-2012, 10:38 AM.The best alarm clock is sunshine on chrome.

Got Duked
Hi Dukers !!!
This is my first post in Xbhp
Have been following this thread for a long time and finally got my first bike - Duke !!!
To make things simple I've been addicted to Duke
One doubt here : When i turn off the kill Switch the entire console is Shutting off, and when i Switch it on it does the check again. Is that the way Duke's Console is designed.
