This is bcoz the engine is new and when hot it becomes rough. As for the gearbox being hard, i did not face that problem, infact my gears are very easy to shift.

As for the RPM issue, visit your ASC as it would be something technical, which i cannot explain, but do post what the issues was and how it was rectified.

il go to the SVC after my run in period only.
i think its because of new engine its acting like this
hope so all these settle after 1st service

for those who worry on the temperature thing , I forget to mention that while on the highway with constant 120 to 125 k speed and running for 2 hours non stop , still the temperature was below those two levels.. so felt very safe and happy with the liquid cooling engine no probs..
Cant say about the night time, but the headlight in daytime looks awesome.

      • To all those who are facing the following before their first service:
        Excessive engine heat
        Excessive engine braking
        Hard and Notchy gearshifts

        Don't worry. "All iz well"
This is normal because before the first service your engine is literally being filed from the inside. The oil contains a lot of small metallic particles in it and hence also affects the gearshifts.

        After the first service:
Engine heat - Reduces a bit. In traffic, should run one or two bars below the gap in the temp indicator. But it will run hotter than an air-cooled bike. If you're expecting otherwise, sorry but you have picked the wrong bike.
Engine braking - Also reduces a bit. But the engine braking is more than other Indian bikes. Blame it on the short-stroke and higher compression nature of the engine.
Gear shifts - This gets much better after the first service. Very smooth.

        Just one piece of advice.
Do not expect this bike to behave like your previous bike (why would you even buy one if it did?).
This bike has a different character.
Adapt to it. Learn to ride it. Yes, all over again.
And then see the joy of hooliganism!

Damn, I sound like a fanboy.

Yes riding between 80-120 is pure fun but Delhi unlike Pune has a lot of traffic and there are very few roads for that speed.
Mine is a 3k old Duke now, it still gives impressions of stalling at times. So, its just about getting used to the characteristic of the bike and riding it that way..

                          • Got my Duke yesterday.

Feels awesome, I'm reminded of my RX100 days. This bike is a big (and welcome) change from the Karizma it replaced.

The kit is required to be supplied by law. You should ask for it as a matter of principle, because it was likely filched by someone at the dealer level.

But then again it is no big deal, it contains a gauze bandage, 2 band-aids, a couple of strips of surgical plaster and a small tube of Cetrimide ointment.

If it is any consolation, I have not received a keychain.

All those things are a part of standard accessory equipment. They should give and if not given then demand for it. And as Nirvan said...its a part of the law to give it.

I'm surprised to know that many people didn't get it.
