Yeah that would validate or nullify things. But if you think from FI view point, there shouldn't be an error of more than 20%. By that i mean if the MFD is displaying 40 KmpL, they it should be in between 32 KmpL to 48 KmpL!Originally posted by vishnukuttan1988 View Postlets all wait till the owners put the full to full mileage reports...
20 % error is huge. But still 32 kmpl is what we had earlier accepted while booking.Hero Honda Karizma

finally got the chance to ride a little , good bike and excellent style, not to mention awesome pull it gives [read as power].
still i am not able to conclude which category of ppl will buy this ... means intended customers ??
first the bike itself is some what small for its power.. and the second most important thing is there is absolutely no space for pillion rider, if the rider carrying backpack .. then there is no space is left.
now this clears lot of questions i had .. KTM for some ppl and P200NS for all ppl..

In my view, Duke is predominantly for city riders looking for an upgrade from Fz16, RTR etc and don't have/want to burden their steed with a pillionOriginally posted by nagoo View Postfinally got the chance to ride a little , good bike and excellent style, not to mention awesome pull it gives [read as power].

. One can also add to this list the KTM fanatics, show off guys etc
Your last statement is absolutely true.

non-enthusiasts seem to have liking towards fairings, big bike like road-presence,so may be the naked aesthetics of duke was ignored.Originally posted by ABikerAtHeart View PostIts not the passion, the reason behind owning the above bikes/cars,just a show off agenda.and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.
#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
#overkill is underrated.

#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road
(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

Putting an end to the speculations of FE display measurement & correction!
The FE figure is measured by the following formula -
FE = (Speed/ Rate of Fuel injection)
= ((Distance/ Time)/ (Volume/ Time))
= (Distance/Volume)
So, the FE figure is instantaneous! & its accuracy is more than 90% (confirmed by reliable sources)
Hope its clear now.Hero Honda Karizma

@Assassin
Measured over what period? A couple of seconds? minutes? Past couple of Kms?
The time period still matters, even though it has been mathematically eliminated
If it is instantaneous,
will it show 0 if I rev it on neutral for a couple of minutes?
also, will it show infinity if I drag the bike with my feet (on neutral, ingnition on but engine off)?
EDIT: I do not intend to argue. It is just to highlight that we should not read too much into the console figures and wait for some full-tank to full-tank readings.

For the other 2 scenarios, I agree with you - We can have a range from 0 to infinity
. But one thing is there, with so much Tech Laden features, the bike should be able to understand if its neutral or the fuel is being injected or not! As u know, if you try to ride the bike with the side stand down, the engine will kill itself. Similarly i am expecting such features in the console. But that's all speculations.
& yes, we should not be diving too much into the way MFD functions

I'm assuming you're from Bangalore from that number. If so, numbers here have started from 1 for sure. Mind you Bangalore had 175 booking on day 2 after bookings started.Originally posted by venkatramanp View PostWell, not sure where the whole numbers starts for pro biking, but my wait list id is 298.
Btw Bangalorians, any updates on how many Dukes are out on the subsequent days?
