Anyways, How are the mirrors like? Usable or as useless as the P220? Somebody told me that 40% of mirror area is shows only the elbows (quite like on the P220).
    Thread patterns

Regarding mirrors, I found it to be covering good area. But that might be because I'm not a wide guy

Ah Antz my friend! you have been missing out here! Good to see you! I know comparisons, diversions are a part and parcel of every thread. That's why I was expressing only my personal hope.

Mirrors/indicators look pretty ordinary to me. The saving grace are the LED's inside the lights.

Talking specifically about the mirrors - At least I was able to set it in a way I could see the traffic behind me - both sides. But then my monkey like colleagues turned it and I am yet to find the perfect angle. Will do so once I lay my hands on the Duke again. Functionality wise - I did not find them totally useless. For if you sit on the Duke - you would notice the mirrors standing out big time (pretty sight too).

The pegs are the hinge are a bit loosely sprung. So if you were make the bike straight - on its wheels - not mount it - disengage the side stand - it springs back into position - that action causes the foot peg to vibrate a bit - a bit more than its supposed to. Just a washer there - foot peg gets firmed up. Hope I have been able to explain it better.

There is no such thing as PDI It is all Pre-PDI'd (a new term) - names stuck on the bikes. There were two SA's/Technicians who were herding Duke owners around them and explaining things about keeping the revs limited, speed limited. when to change oil, when to service it. when to lube chain. what is on the console etc. But since there were huge number of people and each one wanted to ride out, they couldn't manage explaining a lot. For which there is the owners manual.
Oh I got it now, thanks I think we need to let the dust settle and see how next set of deliveries happen.

Guys, checkout the power parts list:

        • What irony!

15 bikes arrived in the city.
12 were sold to those who booked it and 3 are awaiting owners.
This place sure lacks enthusiasm for motorcycling, despite being the 'fastest growing 2-wheeler market in India'. -.-

i beg to differ buddy, enthusiasm does not necessarily imply buying exotic rides,a guy on a passion[take me for example] can be equally enthusiastic like a guy on a ninja[take any owner for example].

about the fastest growing 2 wheeler market-volumes always come from commuter segment, which thankfully duke doesn't belong to.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
            #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

                I ride a Splendor.

But come on man, this place sure couldav shown a bit more enthu. Its clouded by filthy rich people who own all sorts of exotic rides from R6 to X6. But this naked beauty was given no 2nd look despite a small ad in TOI by the dealer here(if anyone might say people wouldav missed the news of its launch).. Its not the passion, the reason behind owning the above bikes/cars,just a show off agenda.

                  • KTM Duke 200 Mileage

I am getting between 40 to 47 KMPL to office and home. My office is 50 KM up-down. What I observe, if you ride slow say 50-60 KMPH in 5th and 6th gear, fuel efficiency dropped to around 40 to 44 KMPL. Later I rode at 70-80 KMPH in 6th gear and console was started showing 47 KMPL.

                    • Question to owners:

Is the fuel efficiency shown in the console an instantaneous figure? or an average since the last reset type figure?

There is a difference, hence wondering.
                      I like 'em Naked

                      Blah Blah Blah!

Reason is not automatic. Those who choose not to recognise it, can't be conquered by it.

It takes 2 KM of ride to show the figure. As soon as bike starts, console shows around 22-27 KMPL, once start riding for 2 KMs it started showing 40 KMPL+ figure.

                          Didn't get you.
Are you trying to say that it is an average of the last 2kms?
Isn't anything mentioned in the manual about the FE calculation?

Look like it is instantenious figure and not the FE figure since last start, because figure keeps chaning while riding. I did not found anything in the manual related to Console settings

                            • Why did iamabiker.com claim 23-24kmpl in the city then? And even on cruising it max 33kmpl..

May be because they have noticed that figure only. Now they might have noticed that figure because they were testing the bike in different conditions. As an analogy, the TD bikes used to give a very low FE. But the delivered bikes have much better FE.
