Here is a sneak peek of the new alarm and immobilizer system for the Duke. Have ordered a limited set of PCB's to be able to evaluate it properly. RFID is about to be added for ability to enable and disable immobilizer.

If you are making one with a simple immobilizer with low idle current draw, count me in!

The current draw is going to be monitored and tweaked when the prototype is in order, which should be done in a week. Will keep this thread updated on the progress.

Regarding the RFID card, how are you planning to place the RFID reader, since the read distance is really less. I guess, the whole circuit placed under the rear seat will not be able to read the RFID card that may be placed along with the keyring near the ignition lock.

The RFID reader is going under the passenger seat along with the alarm module. You just swipe your RFID tag over the seat to disarm the alarm before you put your keys into the ignition.

              • My Luck

A eventful day yesterday. Was in office when got a call from a friend. The poor chap had just met an accident on the LBS marg at Vikhroli, thanks to the many huge potholes which yawn on the BMC claims of pothole less roads. Helped him with the hospital formalities and then later with his MRI scan. He'll take quite some time to recover. During all of this I rode mostly on the eastern expressway at triple digit speeds because I had to juggle between tending to him and work. Stayed with him till 1:30 am at the hospital. On my way back, ripped the bike since the expressway was deserted. While on the airoli bridge, I thought I was experiencing the rear sliding, a strange feeling of the rear having lost grip and fishtailing all the time. Thinking it's all in my head and a tyre cannot have that sudden a grip loss, I rode on. But it got severe and I stopped at the thane-belapur road finally to take a look.
The rear axle nut and the chain tightness adjuster were not there and the axle had started to slip out. .

I was stunned!! Then it struck me. I had tightened the chain in the morning, but had forgotten to tighten the axle nut. I was riding with that loosened nut throughout the day at triple digit speeds. May be God decided to give me some more time.
I could have ended on the bed next to my friend the same day or worse still at the morgue

PS :So there I was, stranded at the thane Belapur road, since I do not carry the tool kit with me. I was praying for a duker to arrive from somewhere, obviously with his kit , but that didn't happen. A Bulleteer tried helping but he too didn't have his kit with him. Finally I could push the axle back in place somehow and ride home at 10-20 kmph.

Took my bike for a 500km run this weekend and got accustomed to the bike's response in all the gears at varied RPMs.... Have a doubt though.... At all gears, the bike was smooth at <5k RPM and >7K RPM... when it was in this range 5k-7k rpm .. i could feel a little bit of ruggedness which always stayed in that range and disappeared when the i increased or decreased the RPM range... It would be great if anyone who has experienced it could throw some light on this...

Does sprocket change affect the warranty..?? And is under gearing(increasing rear sprocket or decreasing front sprocket ) feasible for an already under-geared duke??
Went today on the highway ballistic fast 10.5K RPM in all the gears all the way to 130.!!
But then a greedy me thought ..man it would be awesome if that acceleration was a bit more powerful..!!

Acceleration is powerful enough, increasing the acceleration would decrease the top-end.

As discussed in the weekly g2g last night, I'm already on a hunt for a smaller rear sprocket, would give a little tall gearing and hope it increases the top end too.

Just for a bit of relaxed highway rides..

but i want to try with more acceleration by compromising the top end since 100kph+ is barely reached in everyday rides..

Then go for the rear sprocket of the 390, I think it's 45.. Should give you mad acceleration, but gearing will be too short, i mean too short to enjoy the madness.. Still you can try if that's what you're looking for...

AFAIK the rear sprocket of 390 won't fit on the 200..
