Whats your source? Logically D 200 is doing very good, and is priced well. RC 390 will be upwards of 2 lacs. Does not make sense.

Nilesh is our Tinkerer. He can answer your question. I am technically not good to answer your question.

However, here is an update on the speed limiter.

I tested top speed today, and was happy to hit 142 km/hr. I was able to hold on to the speed for 2-3 minutes without being cut off or thrown back. I also hit 126 km/hr in 5th gear and hit the revv limiter.

People who have experienced speed limiter know that upon touching 136 in 6th gear it throws you back to 133 or 132 km/hr. It is impossible to hit 136 and stay there even for a second.

I am happy to say I have lost this functionality. Nilesh can answer your queries. His handle here is NY17.

Mine is May 2013 model with 42 teeth sprocket and stock ECU. Having surpassed the speed limiter I am now looking for a remap. I tried Kiirus, however wasn't too happy. Theres another option of RD piggyback ECU which when tuned well can prove to be a handful.

Hi guys chinmay, me, abhay,Amit,Yogesh , others have been trying to improve performance of the duke from quite sometime.
After trying out everything available in the market, we decided to go DIY way, studied , tested , experimented a lot, and the result is speed limiter being hacked, with everything else functioning.
Also have some more plans in mind for the duke, should give it better performance.
Also btw we tested the duke with works, even my Honda civic couldn't keep up in a drag till duke reaches its top speed.
Also mechanically stock duke 2nd lot hit 142kmph(42 sprocket),while abhays bike with works and 43 sprockets did 150+.

            • Re: KTM 200 Duke

To add to that, Abhay's Duke has a FFE and Kiirus ECU with 43 teeth sprocket. 150 on a Duke 200 with speed limiter removed is a hoot to ride. Icing on the cake being Dukes speedo is pretty accurate, so what you see is what you get

During last nights late night High Speed Test, I could hit 142-143 multiple times. Tried to record the same on Go-pro, waiting for the videos to be uploaded.

Big thanks to NY:17 for having figured out a way to hack the limiter.

My Duke has completed close to 700 kms and is due for first service anytime soon. How soon is what i would like to know.I notice that the engine isn't as free revving as how it used to be during the initial 200 and odd kms.Does this have anything to do with the engine oil or because of the 300 kms biking trip on ghats?

                      Thanks,

The engine should not change character to the worse. Are you sure its not just a feeling and something to imagine? However, its supposed to be serviced at 1000km first time.

First couple of units is being sent off tomorrow to Duke owners in India for evaluation. After getting feedback from them I hope to be able to wrap it up and offer it at a competitive price.

                            • The system has an inbuilt software filtered vibration sensor. It sets off the alarm in three individual stages.
                              • First, fast flashing with indicators (Scare off too curious people that is touching your bike).
                              • Second, fast flashing with indicators and horn sound (Scare off the curious people that didn't get the first hint).
                              • Third, extensive flashing with indicator and sounding the horn (Gathering attention to your bike and the person that is tampering with it).

                            • The system arms itself 30 seconds after the ignition has been turned off and the bike stopped moving totally.
                              • Its no problem to turn off the ignition and fuel up etc without setting off the alarm.

                            • When the ingestion is turned on, the alarm is disarmed.
                            • When the system is disarming the dash indicator is showing you if there has been any alarms going off while you have been gone.
                            • When alarm is armed, the dash indicator is flashing with a certain interval.

I'm looking for more Duke owners that is willing to try the unit out. Please sent me a direct message.
