• Need Some Help..!

Hey Guys..
I need some help with my more than an year old D200.
The thing is my bike gets heated a bit too much even with the coolant showing at more than half level between the min and max indicators. The High Coolant Temperature warning comes up and also the indicator reaches the maximum point(the 2 bars and then the very small triangle in the above area). I have shown it to the SVC and even asked them many times but it is of no help. Please Suggest me something.
And also what do you guys suggest to do when the High Coolant Temperature warning comes up, do you keep riding the bike or park the bike with engine on/off because i get this warning pretty much every time i go out in traffic/in city.
Thank You
I wud prefer to drive on the road to hell.. rather than flying to heaven...

• Paddock Stand(JUGGAD Version)

Hi Duker's,
At last I came to know, what actually JUGAAD means.
I have been using this technique from a long time, but as per my friend ( @Srvn )'s request, I am posting it here.
Those were the days, when I was new to B'lore and finding a hardware/lathe mechanic shop is difficult for me(even though, many has posted the way of constructing our own Paddock Stand). I used to depend on Svc guys by paying some odd bucks and also travelling so far for the same.
But one day, I found some scrap which I didn't even thought it will be helpful for me.
So, please see my Paddock Stand(Jugaad Version), which I am currently using to lubricate my Duke chain.
What you need is a Strong 1 inch PVC pipe and a rough Wood plank.

First of all just rest the pipe as shown in the following pic.

Y I have chosen a wooden plank is, it maintains the friction with the PVC pipe and also with the Surface(Actually, I found these as better options than the rest).

Now gently rise your vehicle and slowly push the Wooden plank to your desired height and leave your bike. The pipe should be perpendicular, or your bike wont be stable.

• Problem with KTM 200

Hi Team,
I am a proud owner of KTM 200, purchased from Karol Bagh Delhi on August 22 2013. For now I have completed 5k km approx. Few days back I was on a road trip. While stopping on the way for a break I noticed that oil is leaking from the engine where we have two rubber black caps on the right hand side of the engine. Also there are some leakages from the top head of the engine. Moreover there is some humming sound coming from the front disc break when I press the lever all of a sudden. I have no idea why this is happening to world's most refined engine. I would like to hear from you that which service center should I visit also what the cause of this problem and what's the cure. I generally drive at 70 to 85 km of speed. Two paid services are done from Pro biking showroom Kirti Nagar Delhi. Mobil Oil used is Motul.

Got my cone-set replaced yesterday. All the bearing were rusted and it was filled with rust powder inside. Living close to the coast has its own set of problems . Now that it's replaced, it feels much better to ride and the handlebar requires less effort to turn than before. Costed me Rs.660 with labour.

Just as I reached home, i noticed that the bike revs 200+rpm when i turn extreme right. Accelerator cable issue surely :| .For now its not severe so i'll change it a while later.

Glad to see some interesting posts by chinmayakar and NY:17 about the speed-limiter removed. Might try it someday if I figure out how its done. For now please post more videos and pictures.
Tobbera Good stuff with Alarm system. Waiting to see the final product.

Cheers!

Big Shout out to all the guys on this thread..
Been a Duke 200 owner since Sept. 2012, read this thread regularly. Must say, its been extremely helpful and the main reason why I signed up.
Coming to the bike, what can I say, its been a roller coaster ride.
Have been on a lot of long rides and very pleased with the Big Boy.
On the other hand faced a lot of issues too, lots of parts replaced. Following is the list:

1. Fuel Gauge Set up- May 2013 (under warranty).
2. Fuel Pump - Aug 2013 (under warranty).
3. Fork Oil Seal - Aug 2013.
4. Fuel Pump again - Oct 2013 (under warranty).
5. Not to mention the few crashes in which parts like Leg Guard, mirrors & levers have been replaced.

Its been a pretty bitter sweet kind of ownership experience, not helped by Bajaj's service and care in the beginning.

• Re: KTM 200 Duke

Heads Up: sorry for the long post.

Noticed a new warning light on the dash: "Low Battery" last week. I thought it was some error, because it kept coming and going.
Then the same thing happened to the speedo: it would show the speed for a while and then stay at 0.
After 3-4 days of this, went to Shree Ram Bajaj on 18/11, they checked the battery voltage, it was low at 11.4-11.6 V.
Charged the battery for 3-4 hours but the battery wasn't holding charge, turns out that the Alternator or Coil Plate as they call it has gone kaput.

The mechanic showed me another Duke there with the same problem, that bike was lying in the ASC waiting the part for about 3 days.

So the main mechanic said that the part is in back order and they would get it next week (by 27/11). Called up Sai Service, they gave the usual b******t: "Sir, bohot load hai 1 week lage ga, appointment mein.."
In the mean time I was worried about how I would ride the bike and what if it stalled somewhere on the way.

My worst fears came true on Thursday. Riding back from work on the W.E. Highway at Andheri the bike gave up, just wouldn't start.
Tried the starter many times, but to no avail. Searched for a battery wala but found no one.
Called up the KTM guy at Shree Ram Bajaj guy and as per his advice tried starting it by push start in 2nd gear. It worked twice, but soon the battery almost ran out of juice.
Even push start didn't work, the battery couldn't power the fuel pump even when the bike was on.

Finally ran out of options. Started pushing the bike, but I was far from home (I stay in Santacruz E around 8 km away), then some random guy on the highway offers to tow me till Vakola flyover (5 km) on his bike.

Got to a local mechanic who I knew from my Pulsar days, he removed the battery and got it charged for 3 hours, but haven't been riding the bike.
After an angry phone call to Sai Service, Lower Parel, he agreed to replace the part on Monday, 25/11/13.

So for now the ordeal continues, been travelling w/o the bike recently.

This issue happened to one of my friends too recently.
So guys, if you see the Low Battery warning, try to charge the battery asap, get it checked at the ASC, and start pestering them immediately for a replacement.

Cheers.
