  • Me and 200 odd others got an email from PBK Indiranagar that the delivery might be round the corner. Coincidentally, the rumour that Shubz overheard also had this 200 number :-)
Prevention is better than cure. And often, a lot cheaper too.

Ya I know, its unbelievable...and I myself was lauhgin at the Shell petrol bunk seeing it and arguing with tat attendant thats somethings wrong with his instrumentation....

This is really really really Phenomenal for a bike of this capacity....

But this has lead me to speculate the true power output of this bike, I need to test the max power output after 1st service...
WOW Thats really great to hear!!! But I just had one question? The Litre Display on the KTM console only shows figures displayed upto 1 decimal point eg. 1.5L, 1.7L...so how did you ascertain it to be 1.67L?
Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

I think the "Litre" figure here is from the filling station! Not from the KTM display.

whoa!that's too good to be true . .we'll have to see after first service also how the mileage holds up.
now only if someone could test the true top speed of this demon as well.reviews were wrong bout mileage it seems so wat bout top speed and acceleration figures?

So how do the New Duke Owners Store their bikes? and what lengths are you taking to keep it out of the hands of the ever present Bike Thief!!!

                Lets talk about...
                1. External Lock Mechanisms used (Such as disc locks)
                2. Bike Covers?
                3. Motion Sensors (for those that have had their bikes stolen before!!!)
                4. Parking the Bike in your house/Garage (is also a security measure some people have the fortune of being able to do)

1 & 2 are kind of mandatory stuff to have (even if not used regularly)...
3 & 4 should be more flexible & situational based!

Hi No locks for me because I do not leave my bike un attended on the road yet, because it attracts a lot of attention.
Cover: yes i cover it with a temporary cut to size car cover to keep the dust away. Was looking to buy the Orange KTM cover but isn't available yet.
Motion sensor alarm, not yet, waiting for a genuine KTM one which isn't available yet.
I park the bike indoors always, because of the area I live in.

Finally after 1 week, I got the registration and insurance papers for my bike, so, was able to take it out on the road.
Went to get the PUC certificate and a small crowd gathered around the bike. It does attract attention, even at the signals.

But, to answer josh's question -

                      1. This is my first bike so I haven't got any idea about those. Suggestions are welcome. But, since I'm mostly going to use for office commute, I have safe parking areas at both places, I am in no hurry to get those.

                      2. I haven't had very pleasant experiences with car covers. After the first month or so, they are relegated to some dusty corner. Might get one when KTM release powerparts.

                      3. Motion sensors for bikes? What are they? What do they do? If it means remote alarm system, again, not sure. Waiting for powerparts.

                      4. I live in an apartment complex and park my bike next to my car in the parking spaces provided outside. Seems safe enough.

I'd also like to pose another question to Duke owners. How, in the world, is one supposed to clean the bike? There are infinite number of impossible to reach places; The rubber-like material on the RVM stalks and outlining MFD are dust magnets; and the swingarm .... the list just keeps on going.

I'm planning to get an air blower. Any other ideas?

                              • While doing that 100km run, I had some observations...

                                1) The rear disc wire which extends from the foot brake to the back wheel discs, appeared to be lined with a blue ink kinda thing, not sure whether it was there earlier or not.

                                2) I used to change the gears like usual but at the end of a 10km continous run in 6th gear, I slowed down and while changing the gear to 5th, it got stuck somewher in between and that sound of the gear box made me really sick, I started sweatting, I thought something really went wrong, but fortunately i couldn fell any change again while riding

Could some Expertise come up with some explanation for the above 2 ???
