I've been riding one for over half a decade now. The only thing it missed was a powerboost.

You'll know the similarity in the nimbleness of both 5 seconds into riding a Splendor.

One word to all the Splendor/Rx owners who found all the other rides a lil heavy and getting used to, the Duke is your best bet.

    P.S.: R15 is still the best. :P

Can I box your ears for saying that?? I am also married with a kid! and I am NOT considering this as my last bike! (You can consult me on how to manage this*)

      * - consulting charges apply

Sorry folks for going a bit OT!

Sorry for the OT Guys. Agree with you Shubz, and would love to consult you on it, especially when it comes to getting the nod from better half. You know what I mean.
Iits going to take sometime though before I think about another bike.

          2. (More Practical) - Economical - Get the parts replaced as soon as you see a single scratch on them. This way they will have financial implications of playing with others stuff. I seriously request "joshzma225" to go & get the swing arm replaced to teach them a lesson. I agree that everyone does mistakes, but there should be line which you cant cross. They will easily forget your lecture but wont forget the financial expense incurred! Its business & not a social service they are doing!
(Sorry for this OT, Just felt like it)
Thanks for raising this issue along with Me Assassin...I intend to definitely get that swing arm changed and if the sai service KTM Service center refuses to do so tomorrow...I will go back to the Kanjurmarg KTM Showroom and DEMAND either a New Swing Arm OR a NEW BIKE!!! I know many people think that's unreasonable but...when you actually pay for something with your own hard earned money only to have some unskilled newbie factory rider muck everything up for you on your big day...I see no other way to go about it!!!
Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

Agree with you! The only hiccup you may face is - availability of the swing arm as a spare - At most they will ask you to wait till it arrives. But do not buy their 1st service story unless you plan to munch up at least 800 kms in the next couple of days. And don't get mad at them - Duke owners will not be sidelined!

Hey there! Yes I had a similar issue but I didn't know what to do about it...So I was planning a trip to the KTM Service center as well...although the console does not show any diagnostics for it to be considered a huge problem...Otherwise it would blink on the console...Also the Level on my coolant is normal (Between MIN & MAX)

I presently ride a pepped up 220 (courtesy Joel) and I enjoy the torque flow and super fast acceleration of my bike.

I have also ridden FZ 16 extensively, and thats the only bike apart from my 220 that has brought a smile on my face.

Would like to know if the KTM 200 has torque flowing right from the bottom (not like the cbr 250 or R15, where it is dead below a certain RPM) and thats exactly what I am looking from my next ride.

FZ owners who have upgraded to KTM, is the KTM like a bigger and better version of FZ, because the handlebar position, seating position is somewhat similar.

In short I think KTM is a mix of 220 (power and torque) and FZ (Ergonomics and flickability). Please let me know if I am wrong.

yes ive been riding an fz since i got my license and the duke is my upgrade.... and yes, it IS an upgraded fz... the only problem fz owners had was the lack of power, and the duke is LOADED with power.... and it pulls from all the way from 4000rpm, though it gets mad beyond 7000rpm
totally worth the upgrade bro, go for it

Hmmmm all valid points there Shubz...Yes that's why I will be making a trip to a Service Center a bit closer to home...and I will ask if they CAN or CANNOT replace this under warranty...in the mean time I've take photos of the "inflicted" parts :-D just in case they try to pull the old switcharoo and say "oh maybe you did this after you took it out of the Showroom ;->"

P.S Shubz...could you just check and see if you are able to change the RPM2 setting in your KTM? I am unable to get it from the TRIP2 display after pressing the MODE button...it just goes back to RPM1... :-/

Can you put up those pics? Would be helpful for future owners like me

                    Royal Enfield Bullet

Thanks dude for answering that. If you have ridden CBR250 you will understand what I am trying to say. CBR250 isnt that powerful below 4000 rpm and also has that typical knocking sound. Is it the same with KTM or does the power flow right from the beginning.

They CAN, WILL, SHOULD and WOULD change it! since you even have pics. I don't think they will go back on their words.

Reg RPM2 - Yes I will try and let you know by tomorrow?

Sorry to jump the queue but I'd say Power flows right from the time you crank the engine and release the clutch lever.

what I meant was, lack of bottom end torque.

Even I tried that today with the same results as yours. Also tried changing the time but it just keeps on changing the units from kmph to mph.
When life gives you Yamaha, make it RD350 not R15. :D

                              • Why not wait for the 1st service?
Maybe the programe to access rpm2 settings hasnt been fed yet. Or maybe there's a logicgate to be switch on/reversed to activate the settings and it'll all be done at the 1st service.
Its an advanced machine. Why mess with unknown techno? You might screw up something.
