okay it does work. any idea how to change the time! :P
    Thank you
You are most welcome Abhishek :-)
    To set the clock
1)HOLD AND PRESS MODE + SET BUTTONS in the ODO screen
    2)THE TIME STARTS TO FLASH
3)Now you can adjust the time according to the 24hr layout and MODE will move the hours ahead and SET move the minutes ahead...so if you miss your intended time by a few minutes or hours you gotta go all the way round again...

LASTLY REPEAT STEP 1 TO SET THE TIME...you will know it is set when the clock stops flashing.
Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

Thanks. The one in New Delhi is none other than existing PBK outlet in Kirti Nagar where Ninja is too serviced.

        • @ASSASIN here are the pics of the scratches on my rhs engine cover and the swing arm with a small chip knicked off it...so it looks like a silver speck on a dark gray swing arm which is pretty noticeable to me atleast...in the pic coz of the flash it looks like its the same color as the rest of the swing arm but it isn't it stands out like a whitish silver speck!!! ...Man this is taking My OCD to another Level!!! I believe this is the result of the showroom guys "riding" the bikes down from Bhiwandi (28kms) to Kanjurmarg KTM showroom, instead of just having the entire lot of 30 bikes delivered! They say they do it to save octroi charges at the toll booth...not at my expense they don't!!!

With great dismay here they are...

but dude do they actually ride it from Bhiwandi? That sucks coz u don't know how they ride it..

Guys make sure u see every bit of bike in the showroom itself.

              Anyone else finding this problem?
Hey! I hope both you and your duke are not majorly injured.:|
I have experienced this a dozen of times now, so I have developed the habit of just gazing at the console to check the engaged gear. At times it just shows nothing as in no number for the engaged gear! In the beginning I had a couple of scary moments cause of it but nothing major.. I thought I was not shifting the gears properly with enough force. But after knowing that its not just me experiencing it, I guess I will get it looked at!.
And take care man. Wish you a speedy recovery and hope to ride with you sometime.

It's just the shift indicator that's all, no limiter.!

Thankfully nothing major. Both me and my bike will be fit to ride after Holi and will be making the trip to Kirti Nagar to get the parts replaced and get a few other things like chain slack and gear shifting issue checked out.

I too hope we'll ride together soon.

Well this happened to me in a different way, it got stuck between 2 gears and the gear box sound ws as if someones trying to rip the teeths off by a machine drill,

Now this happned to me after I gave it to my frens for a test drive, may b their riding style differs from mine and gears were confused...

And it happened to me only during downshifts, esp when i m shifting from 6 to 3, so the major reason for downshifting is tat u need to slow down your duke, so its better to have a look at the console tat time(since ur not movin fast) and leave the clutch after proper engagement...is wat i feel is better.....

                      1) What all do I need to check on the bike before taking delivery?(Coolant,Chain etc)Saw from the forum that several complained bike's meter had shown it had run certain distance......

                      2) I plan to ride it home from Trivandrum to Kochi...(200+KM)
What precautions should i take, since it's a new bike....
I have kind of same query ? .... Any one up for answering this ? please

Well I really don't think it would act that way just coz your friends took a test ride, although I have made it pretty clear to everyone that I'm not giving any TD's :-p I just direct them to the showroom for that :-D

Booked my baby duke on 24th of feb @ chennai and it's been around 2weeks :S

Being "the most frequent" visitor of xbhp and passing by pbk centre almost everyday on a crowded bus in the midst of the dense traffic roads of "singaara" chennai drives me crazy...

I used to convince people to be patient after booking their bikes (such as RE) but now??? Aww man I would be happy to know at least a tentative delivery date ...

Anyone who booked baby duke @same week as me?... At chennai ... Feb24 booking ... Aaaarghhhh I m frustrated

Oh may be..dunno much about Bangalore. But, in pune AFAIK the KTM service center would be different and Pulsar's service station is different.

Since, I don't own the Ninja..so can't say where is it serviced. May be the same place as the pulsars.

Will surely call n ask him once. But, I guess it would be different.

So, it might be that the existing pulsar range might be moving out from there.

It should actually do well if it comes at a price which is substantially cheaper than what it sells for in the EU. Because if it doesn't, The Ninja 650 will be cheaper by about 50k and the naked one (if that one does make it to our shores), around 70k. The only way they can achieve that is by localization and by manufacturing them right here in Chakan, Pune!! Which would mean that they might as well make a developing markets (= India) specific 650 Duke!!

However, the 690 Duke weighing just 150kg (less than P220) will be a helluva ride!

Sorry for adding speculation and OT. I ll stay off this thread from now on
690's plans are already there, as per last I heard it was going to launch during june-july. & its price is gonna be around the N650.

At 5K the light starts blinking and at 7500 there's a cut off i.e no more power would be generated post that RPM range. (atleast this is what I have heard)

                              • On the riding experience - There is a new find which by now has already been discussed here and Deb bro - I feel sorry for the mishap! Hope both you and Duke recover soon!

If you are light footed when changing gears - it tends to slot between gears - the gear display on the console disappears - and if you are not careful - you could end up revving it hard in the pseudo-neutral position!

Odo reading - around 250 kms now.

2nd: While reversing the bike on a slope - while controlling the descent using front brake - on slight release - there is a whistling/squeaking sound.

Both are not alarming situations though.

For the 1st - make sure one is sure footed while changing gears/ feel the click (and glance the console to be double sure). Do not rev too hard immediately after changing gears!

For the 2nd - i think its the brake pads which are still breaking in.

I will anyway visit Auto service (behind my house) tomorrow to have this checked.
