this was my check list for delivery. had put it on my phone as a pdf:

    check:

    documents:
    • manual
    • toolkit
    • key card

    on the bike:
    • any scratches
    • any broken parts
    • odo reading
    • lights all working
    • horn working
    • brakes working
    • tyre pressure
    • all liquids levels (coolant, oli)
    • under pillion seat compartment
    • battery connectors are covered with protectors (where not covered in my case)
    • check chain , if to loose or tight

for sure this check list might be incomplete, but that's what i had.
maybe other riders can add so this becoems handy for anyone taking delivery.

    hope this helps, happy riding

    • hey this is an update on the service stations for mumbai owners....
i spoke to the managers at the vashi as well the phoenix mills showrooms and both confirmed the same... as of now, the only places u can get em serviced are the 3 that have been listed in the earlier post (the ktm website), but these are just bajaj centres doubling up for the ktms... within a month or so, their, i qoute, "flagship" store shall open at bandra, which will have engineers and machinery dedicated to ktms and ninjas ONLY (no more pulsar 220s also)....

ive finished 1100km already and am dying to get it serviced, so will give it tomm... then time to see how far we can push this bike... will post performance figures asap...

PS- also, the accessories will be available once the bandra showroom opens

PPS- all Duke owners.. humble request... carry a camera with you everytime you make a new person sit behind you, their expressions when you shoot off even revving till 6000rpm is worth capturing...epic....

As someone mentioned the level should be a few mm above minimum so yours should perhaps stop leaking. If it does not then there might be a problem. Yes you can top up coolant by just opening the cap and adding some more. Just make sure the bike isn't hot when you do it and also keep your hands clear of it as coolant is poisonous.
Thanks for the tips Rajath. I also wanted to clarify that if I just was to top up the coolant in the bike, I need not do the same for the radiator cap near the engine guard right? or do we need to replenish liquids in both of them Simultaneously?

P.S I was not able to locate the source of the leak...but by the looks of it, it could be the radiator cap near the engine guard that was loose so I tightened it up a bit...as for the engine overheat issue many KTM Users have been complaining of, it could be a faulty radiator fan, but I guess we can get to them bottom of it by the first service.

Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

No the showrooms and even the manual recommeds Super unleaded RON 91 which is either Power or Speed both of which are 91 octane

              • heard somewhere that d key chain duke comes with is actually a card which has all the service information of the motorcycle logged onto it. which is flashable and can be swiped to retrieve your motorcycle’s service data. is that true? 'cos i find many owners having normal ones

                • It is not a key chain per se. It is just a card which contains the code for the key. God forbid if one loses both the keys, you will have to take the card to the service center and you can get a duplicate set in 4 days.

Regarding flashing - I did not see any magnetic strip on the card.

Sure would follow up on the Clutch cover. What power parts are available right away? Sliders definitely is on my list! Let me know if it is available.

joshzma225 - That is the perfect level you are on! Don't worry until the level goes below min.

rohitoasis - Mine has been at that level ever since I got my bike.

This does not look normal for nearly 2 weeks usage. Current users please confirm if you are also seeing such low coolant levels.
