I too am facing exactly the same issue. Just went to svc and was told that they will have to open the head and its covered under warranty. But I'm a bit worried about the cost and time delay involved. Just 2days ago someone stole the oil cap and a lot of oil got sprayed on the bike and me. Got that fixed for 1100 bucks and now this issue crops up.
    :banghead:

Also every morning when I start my bike it gives off a very peculiar and pungent kinda smell somewhat like 'gende ke fool ka smell', but very strong and irritating. Told the mechs That too and he asked me to leave the bike there and he will observe this the next morning. Due to college and all can't leave it there,so postponed it

Hopefully didn't crash and neither the bike suffered any major damages due the the whole incident.
Lost around 500 ml and rode to svc after a little top up using a friends oil. Also a jugad cap(looked like a allout cap) was given by a nearby shopkeeper which worked well for taking the bike to the svc.

As a precaution bought both oil and coolant cap and have kept them in my bag

Sorry to hear about the incident. Duke is really a magnet to attract a@@holes and mess with it. I really get nightmares to keep it parked at unknown places.

For the rear brake oil cap and the coolant cap you can buy hose clamps and secure them, so turning them by hand would be difficult. I have done that jugaad on my bike.

I have to do some jugaad for the engine oil cap as that too is exposed and we know jerks waiting to mess with it. Check the pic for the jugaad.

Awesome jugaad. Definitely doing this. Apart from that I've already kept spare caps in my bag incase of another such incident.
Do come up with something this interesting and useful for the oil cap too . Regarding parkings, college parkings are the worst. Full of envious, egoistic and jealous morons who stop at nothing when they start messing around with ppl or their stuff

Did you buy the coolant and oil caps from the service center ? if yes, how much $ ? I think spare caps in bag are must considering the amount of attraction duke generates.

Finally after lot of fiddling and a few prototypes was able to mount the number plate below and problem of it touching the mud guard is not there under excessive pressure it comes within 1mm(approx) of it, this is the result

what really worries me now is the seat height of duke..i am able to plant one foot firmly on ground..but when i try to plant both my foot at same time, my heels wont reach the ground..from paper its about 810 mm..but the duke 390 has just 800 mm...
dont these two have the same chassis??..
could i possibly lower the preload of rear suspension on duke 200 so that i could reduce the seat height to 800 mm??
please help me out guys..am really in love with this bike..
should i worry about the seat height??
pls help me out guys...thanks in advance..
Well I agree, duke's seat is a bit on the higher side . If you are able to plant one foot firmly on the ground, don't worry about anything then. It will take little time to get used to the seat's height factor but after that you won't have any problem . I wouldn't suggest you to lower the preload of rear suspension at least initially . When possible, make sure you are not sitting on the bike when moving it around . In short, Don't worry about the seat height as on duke your feet wouldn't want to touch the ground :P it's just so much fun .

It's a random problem can occur in any gear . For me it happens when I get little lazy in shifting gears . Try giving the stick a firm click when changing gear . Don't be too gentle on the gear stick : ) . Even after that the problem persists, do get it checked at the service center, minute adjustments will fix the issue.

Guys I am planning to make my duke a "stealth" version Any pointers to finding guys in Pune who can get it finished in matt black? Please mention approx cost also.

And I really want to fit sliders and other protective bits. Heard jcmoto has them but I am not able to access the website jcmoto.in Any others available in Pune?

Get in touch with wrap-me-up guys, they do a decent job for wraps. For the stealth Duke, you'll also need to get rid of the tail, headlight, mirrors IMHO.

Wrap me up only do their own complete sticker set. Not sure if they will do a full matte wrap though...

Buddy, anyone doing the wrap, does a complete set, a friend of mine has done a custom wrap on his 390, looks wicked !
Had inquired a while back bout the matte wrap, which they said, can be done.

I am not that much of an acceleration junkie so losing a bit of acceleration is fine with me. Also, I am facing the problem that only rear sprocket of karizma of pulsar 180 is hard to come by as most service centers sell the full set. Any suggestions as to obtain the sprockets in mumbai. Is it required to carry out any modifications of the duke chain if fitted with the 39T/40T sprocket.
Hi friend. Sorry for late reply. The ideal choice according to me is 40t. U need to cut the chain and add link lock. Service centre will take care of that.

Hi friend. In theory yes. But practically runs out of power for such long ratios. I dont remember the rpm correctly. It was around 9 to 9.5k. Currently I use 39t

Can anyone tell me that which engine oil will be best for duke200.
My first priority is buttery smooth engine.
I am currently using MOTUL 7100 20w50. Its a good oil but the engine feels unrefined and harsh..:what:

Nice mod bro. Did you have to do any mods to the plate clamp or did it fit directly ?
