Try lubing the chain first, thats the simplest one to do IMO. You can go through the thread for instructions on how to do that. If its still not sorted out, I suggest u take it to the service center if its close by.Originally posted by Syed Zakir Ahamed View Post

If there is much sound & disturbing, take it to the service center in a day or two & if the sound is less, manageable, then take it during the first serviceOriginally posted by Syed Zakir Ahamed View PostThanks, but I am worried now. What will you suggest me, whether to go to the service center and fix it by now or else wait till my 1st service period comes?

can be a mis-aligned chain slack.. happens when tyres arent aligned properly and results in variable slackness at diffren levels...Originally posted by Syed Zakir Ahamed View PostFacing some problem with my Dukie. I can notice some scrapping sound from the rear part of my 200km old bike while riding it (May be from brakes or from the chain). Does any one know about this? Suggest me.
when the chain passed over the sprocket when tight makes a scrapping kinda noise and then back to normal...
try to figure out the frequency.. if the scrapping is as much as the tyre roations.. like once with every turn the tyre takes.. then it can be the disk pads...
if its continous then can be a faulty bearing..
if the scraping comes after the tyre takes 2-3 tunrs every time.. then its the chain.. as the sproket will take around 3 turns before the chain tavel is complete.."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

Are you confusing between screeching sound like braking? Scraping can be of the following, loose chain that has attracted dirt, grime etc, misaligned slack. Get it checked.Originally posted by Touseef Ahmed Mohammed View PostAccording to me, one from these three things might create a sound.
1. Rear Disc pads might be Faulty.
2. A Faulty Wheel bearing.
3. Dry or loose & unlubed drive chain.
Touseef, wheel bearings, brake pads don't get worn as soon as 200 KMS. And if a bearing has gone kaput, you can clearly feel the wheel wobbly and handling issues. But still can't be ruled out, as they are all consumables.
Try this, put the bike on the stand, lean it to one side with the help of another person (the blues of having no center stand) and try rotating the rear wheel a little harder to see if there are any strange sounds. Try applying the brakes while doing (spinning the rear wheels manually) so it gives you an idea of what the culprit is.
Don't do with engine running, just a slight toggle front up, you could lose a finger, examining chain etc.
Cheers!

The best idea would be to call a KTM or Bajaj PBK and inquire them about the prices, they'd be more than willing to answer your queries. Simple!Originally posted by Harsh Thanvi View PostHey guys What is on road price of duke in mumbai

[quote=b7ackthorn;930442]thnxOriginally posted by keshavrana View Posthello guys!!! Finally a member of duke family
sorry for the long post
been thinking of writing this since the day i bought my bike.
Have been following this thread since nov 12 when i sold my 5yr old p200 to buy a new bike. Since than i was without a bike but as i was not at home it was not much of a problem. So my search for new worthy upgrade was on. Three contenders were on the list bull500, cbr 250, d200. 3 bikes from 3 different segments but in my budget. Was never a fan of bullet, but got confused between the other two option, but finally decided on d200
without even taking a test ride(based on my 3 months research)
handling - very good
seats - not comfortable and smaller than p200
congrats on your bike buddy. Yes you're right about the horn and vibrations and heat. Clearly the vibrations are felt and the seats definitely will set in once they are pounded :d
but the sound is what i hated in the bike really could have improved in that part but anyway that was my opinion.
Don't worry nothing is perfectly suited to everyone out there. You'll all get set in.
Cheers!

Hey everyone,
I have a small query for all you guys. My bike's done 450 kms now and of late I'm experiencing snatching on the throttle. that is to say, it feels like as though the bike's out of fuel and about to stop, at lower rpms. Is this normal? or is there any issue with the engine? Buke runs perfectly fine at higher revs and has a lot of fuel.
Thanks!

Either your fuel filter has gone bad, or you have the previous map.Go to service center and show them the bike. Both issues have to be handled by them only,You cant do much about it.Originally posted by katoom View PostHey everyone,

Have you changed the oil yet?Originally posted by katoom View PostHey everyone,

Don't wait for 1st service to change it. Because the engine is new there'll be lots of fine metal particles in the oil, which makes engine work heavier, it struggles more.
I changed my oil 2 times before the 1st service, at 200 km and 500 km, and each time the engine felt much relieved after the change.

Can the fuel filter go bad this fast? I don't think its a problem with the engine map. Any way, I'm gonna be outta town for a few days, will look into it when I come back.Originally posted by ynike99 View PostEither your fuel filter has gone bad, or you have the previous map.Go to service center and show them the bike. Both issues have to be handled by them only,You cant do much about it.
splus, I haven't changed the oil yet. Did have a tough ride over the weekend and I'm beginning to think it may be the oil. Also, now that I think of it, the performance has also gone down a bit (I may be imagining this though :P). I was waiting for the first service to do it. Also, if I do, should I stick to SS i.e. stock Bajaj or Motul 7100 or go FS i.e. Motul 300v or Shell Advance Ultra? I don't mind spending money, I just want the bike to be in top notch condition.Originally posted by splus View PostHave you changed the oil yet?

Snatchy/jerky throttle response was characteristic of first lot of duke.Which was solved by a remap. And regarding fuel filter, yes, it can, with adulterated fuelMake sure you fill at company owned/company operated pumps(COCO, Usually big petrol pumps)Originally posted by katoom View PostCan the fuel filter go bad this fast? Regarding the oil, Since you are at 450 kms and engine is still in running in, go for bajaj oil or motul 3100 20w50.Both are very good oils for running in and can be even used post running in if distance between service intervals is less(upto 2k).
Glad to help.Motorcycling heals, big time...

I filled up for a small amount at the local BPCL pump which was "Platinum Certified", when I had just got the bike. Normal petrol, they didnt have speed. However, after a few kms, I filled up the tank at Shell (Warje) with Shell Super Unleaded. The bike was fine during all this while. It has started this behavior only a couple of days ago. Thanks for the info on the oilsOriginally posted by ynike99 View PostSnatchy/jerky throttle response was characteristic of first lot of duke.Which was solved by a remap. And regarding fuel filter, yes, it can, with adulterated fuelMake sure you fill at company owned/company operated pumps(COCO, Usually big petrol pumps)
