I got mine on 10th this month . As it was booked on my b'day they offered me a free teflon coating, which now i think is applied to all new bikes. So basically there are no freebies. The key chain i got was also pretty cheap and i changed it as soon as i got home.

I am told that the service stations are finding it difficult to get "enough business" because these bikes are supposedly without issues. given that, a little bump in the bill is not unusual.

funny thing, I asked chandrashekar about blackstallion's oil leak problem too ... he told me it was probably because the bike took a fall. hmmm. any word from the owner himself?

coming to my unresolved issues, yeah KTM did respond in a timely manner. chandrashekar was there too. but in the end i got the same response; "no issues with the performance". what was astonishing was that I went there with a screaming engine sprocket, so loud that i could feel the chain's friction in my foot. but he thought it was a minor issue.

anyway, i dont intend to give up till I get my bike to how it felt before the service. if there are any experienced dukers around (i live in HSR layout), i would like to get your word on this. pls pm me if possible, thanks.

        Hi telescope ,

sorry for they delayed respone was very busy with my official work

well first thing the issue has been fixed , and i have ridden close to 600km after the fix and no more oil leak has been observed.

Secondly am surprised to see how these service people comment on whatever they like , my bike had never taken a fall not a scratch mark on my bike till date , as if you all remember i had earlier mentioned this issue can be caused be either failure of piston rings or a PCV valve. And the issue was with the PCV valve which was jammed. they cleaned it and the issue was fixed. i myself could find some marks of screw driver where they had opened to clean the valve.

walter , i dont stuff any clothes near my air intake , i am not so negligent nor do i find any reason to stuff any obstruction near to my air intake.

its really hilarious to see how these peple tell whatever they feel to do so

              Here's the link

Amazon.com: KTM Motorcycles Logo Rubber Keyring/Keychain 1 Piece.: Automotive

I already had an account in amazon so was able to order it. And they allowed shipping to India as well. I also saw those metal ones online, didnt select them as I thought the keychain would swing around while riding causing scratches on both itself as well as the handle bar. Will let u know how it looks once I get it.

Stock tyres do a fantastic job.............only dat being soft compound, it is not well suited for the typical broken and unmaintained tarmacs of our country.

                    • Just checked the coolant level , it was a little above(almost touching) the min mark. Have clocked 714km(in almost 13 days) so far and in next six days will be ready for the first servicing. Should i refill the coolant ( ALSO WHICH ONE) myself or wait till the servicing. I have to ride 25 kms one side daily so heating up can be an issue so pls advice accordingly.

OT: some moron knocked off my bike when it was parked in mg road pune. It fell on a scooty and was hung like that till i came back. Now the brake lever is scratched:banghead:

                        • No need to change the coolant.... For ktm Duke use only motul pre mix coolant.

                            • Hi everyone,

Had a small ride yesterday morning, and wanted to share it on the forum.

So, after getting the week last saturday, I was itching to get out of the city and try it out on the highway. However, office was hectic and couldn't get a chance all week. Finally, sunday came and made an impromptu decision to ride to sinhagad fort from my place. Checked out the route on google maps, and thought, this could be done very easily. Also, the fuel was getting into reserve and I was wanting to fill Shell super and experience the same. The nearest one to my place is on the Mumbai Pune highway near Warje according to gmaps, so planned the route accordingly.

Here's the route according to Google

Now, I am new to Pune, so I had no idea if the route was correct or not. Blindly followed the map, results will be revealed later.

Started riding yesterday morning at 7:30 AM, reached shell at 8:00 AM and filled the tank up. Service was good and I was out of there in a couple of minutes. The highway looked extremely enticing and wound up my bike to good speeds. Since it is in the run in period, I didnt want to overspeed and was maintaining it around the 75 kph mark. Followed the highway and was soon near the Katraj tunnel. This tunnel is pretty awesome, the sound of the bike was terrific in the closed space and I hit the limiter quite a few times inside the tunnel

Finally, reached the turn according to google and found myself entering a village. I started doubting the route as I knew this was a popular destination and somehow the route did not justify the same. After going for a few kms, and getting oggling looks from the villagers, I turned back, feeling stupid that Google had let me down again!

Reached the highway back and started on my way back home as I was completely put off and didnt want to go searching for the alternate route. This time, I went through the katraj ghats and boy o boy was the bike a blast around the twisties I must say I'm not an expert at handling corners, more like a novice, but how I wish I could better my skills. The bike just felt super amazing.

Reached back home and found out the proper route on the net, and vowed not to trust google maps and to reconfirm the route every time. All in all, a sunday with an amazing start and end, as well as a slightly disappointing middle!

I just came bak from KTM showroom. I have just clocked 200kms and was facing the same problem yest. Luckily one of my friend had purchased Motul expert coolant got it topped up with just about 100ml it came alomost to max level. Today visited showroom and purchased 1l bottle for Rs 185. The service guy told in case of emergency where u cannot find coolant you can top it up with distilled water which will be available in any battery shop or some good pertol pumps.

                                cheers
