Dude you are so knowledgeable! Still you asking us to help you?
Can anyone here help our guest to choose an appropriate Museum for Duke?

    • Break-in

Its all given in the internet.Motoman and Dansmc several other sites and people and auto expertise carried their own processes based on their knowledge and experience.
and truly saying experience is believing.
I have been through several re-bores in two stroke high revving engines to four stroke petrol/diesel engines.10 times a year witnessing engine seizure cased while working in Tatamotors.
Its not a hard and fast rule u have to follow by your life...I do the same breaking somewhat equal to the proceedure these sites recommend.Ive followed motoman and dansmc...dansmc being my fav.
But then i started breakin the way i like it..the way i amalysed it...usually same to the ways disscussed here....never been in trouble...yess didnt revved those newly bored new gear shaft engines beyond a unbearable limit.
I did kept it under refline no full throttle but often did full throttle (no redline) streches.
Following whats given in mannual does it all.
Always keep an eye on the temp guage during initial kms....i read a engine siezure case....i mean the temp would have gone high...temp guage woild have showm it...the guy should have pulled over the vehicle for a min. allow it to cool then head to the SVC. Air in the coolant system as the problem was would have been rectified.
anyways...along our breakin proceedures we need to concentrate on our riding styles too.
      it works a big deal.

Regarding goals in life, this thread is about discussing about the bike and not the individual goals. We can perhaps find out some forums/articles/books etc which help us set goals in life but we have to take that offline bro. It is, as I said, beyond the scope of this thread.

And yes, I was bashing only the downsides of the bike. Nothing else. Unlike you, I have no other emotions here for anyone.
Pepole here have self respect and respect for others. They also have emotinal attachment for their bike and for others. If you talk bad about a bike they wount like it and it hurts their feelings, there is always a nice way to put across something you are not happy about.Unless you have some constructive criticism or would like to share your knowledge, you are only being Extremely Annoying. If you are not happy about the bike send an email to Bajaj , ask the nice service center folks if they can help you.By the way you need to request for support/help and not demand.Just be nice, its easy and people would be more than happy to help you.Try to find out why the issue occurs, trying talking to all the wonderful pepole here , they would give suggestions. There is some joy in knowing you did something to fix a issue. You are going to get no where by bragging about things.Hoping you would rethink it ones more. Please and Thank you

Why don't we put your precious ninja 250r in a museum for having an all analog console and not even a single LED and a terribly outdated design for the amount of money they demand. Oh and not to mention no underbelly exhaust? No midship exhaust? standard frame? No trellis or Twin spar frame? Heck even the R15 has that these days!!! And what is with the header pipes on the Ninja 250r??? Seriously they built that massive fairing just to hide them!!! I saw them and they are literally like as wide as your finger!!! Puny man...

See it's not just you that can spot faults in a bike. We all can. Did you see how easily I shot down your Ninja 250R??? 130 section tire...Pffffff.

Guys extremerocker00...whatever it is...has been going around the other ownership forums here doing exactly what he's doing here to other owners of other good motorcycles like the Honda CBR250R and the P200NS. And guess what same story there, he's just finding faults out of faults reported and is using that to make himself feel good about the NINJA 250R. God man that bike doesn't even have USD's!!! Where do you get the nerve to even put a KTM 200 DUKE down!!! Your NINjA's fault is the entire outdated design man!!!

You're welcome to stay on the forum but if you think I'm gonna sit here and listen to your trash talk about the KTM 200 DUKE you got another thing coming.

I will now extend it to 7k as per your advice .
Surprisingly till now radiator fan has never switched on ? is it because engine has never reached the top three separate bars?
bajaj used to have facilities of using dynamo's to test bhp and top speed, i hope you try it for your bike as i also believe that the way you ran in your bike it should have better performance figures then the rest

by the way how much your bike has clocked? and what the max km's any duke has clocked in India?
I did read in this thread someone has already clocked 10.5 k. Is it the maximum?

PS : people who really like to take the pain can also head to the bike polish thread and go through posts by n_aditya and stefanm there. Stefan has posted detailed instructions on how to do it much like the above post by Eshan-P180. It's better to have different perspectives and then decide how to go ahead.
Also keep in mind that much of the painted area of duke is covered by stickers and that only the trellis frame, engine and the shocker are metallic. The plastic tank cover is cheap too
            cheers

Can you point me to bike polishing thread or the posts which you have mentioned, i am unable to find the thread

I'm not sure about people like him..I'm one of those who got confused between opting for a Ninja or the Duke
the only thing that made it easy for me was that I had got my loan sanctioned for the Ninja, so didn't back out. I would pickup the Duke anytime if given a chance, but I can't keep two bikes at once, nor I have any intention of changing the Ninja anytime soon

Hahaha....it sounds easy to you. Sounds to me like a nightmare

after owning the 200NS, you would not like anything one the Ninja apart from the power. You'll be returning it back pretty soon I'm sure

                      • Done 140 kms of Hard break-in with my KTM Duke 200 and this bike accelerates like an Orange Lamborghini for sure.........atleast in character, its bling fast, tears my arms off my shoulders and I have absolutely no complaint about the gear shifts.............never expected it to be so smooth without even the first service.Engine is a screaming demon like the Lambo's but the chassis handles it too well and do not cause any rider discomfort at all........I wud easily term my bike as vibration less

Mileage due to constant loading and unloading of engine is around 20 kmpl on an average.

Two things I must mention are :

                        1. The handlebar is stiff and is with no freeplay, this is causing a lot of handling issues.I think the ball racer is over tightened or is not amply lubricated........this bike came with this setting from the factory ???? !!!!

                        2. The right hand switch gear on the handlbar is showing tendencies of loosening up, it moves slightly with the throttle........is this unit under tightened ? - coz I feel high rev vibrations are bouncing the screw off

Have any other owner has a similar experience ?

handlebar is not supposed to have any freeplay ..
switch gear has some freeplay .. i checked it on many bikes but it should not move with throttle .. just tightening of its screw will resolve this ..

Hey.. small world.. I stay in teacher's colony too and so does the owner of the black bike.. If you ever see a stock duke in the area.. wave.. That'll be me.. • Dont just kill the engine after a high speed ride,

Yesterday i have touched the rev limiter multiples times and maintained 138kmph for a span of 5kms and through out the 100km ride speed were 110+ ish.

Temps were ok, 2 bars left in H-band.. coolant level at max,no overflow while riding.i thought its better to pull over give ourselves a break.

So i pulled over and switched of the engine, had a cool drink. When i comeback the coolant overflowing like someones vomiting and i quickly inserted the key to see the temp, surprise now no bars left in H-band.

IMO, because bikes aint moving there is no airflow and as i killed the engine radiator fan cant spin to cool the engine. So,the coolant temps rose immediately causing the overflow.

Tip: Next time its better to let the bike sit at idle after a high speed ride.so the radiator fan can take of the temps.

And me thinking adding a Coolant overflow collector bottle, the overflow pipe is too small, we need an extension.
