You should ideally stick with mineral oils for the first 5000km to help the run-in.
Even after the run-in, it may make sense for you to continue to use the Bajaj DTS-i 10,000 oil, there isn't really much of a gain by using expensive oils like Motul. Here's my argument:
If you are going to constantly stress the engine to its limits in the course of your use, then sure, opt for the expensive synthetic or semi-sythetic oils. Also useful if you want to extend the drain interval, which anyhow is not going to be allowed by Bajaj.
If on the other hand you continue to use Bajaj DTS-i 10,000, you could simply change the oil & filter every 2500km instead of 5000km and ensure a fresher supply of oil to the engine at shorter intervals. This IMO negates the viscosity benefit that higher performance oils offer over a longer duration that the expensive oils offer.

I don't understand what people are trying to accomplish by congratulating for the purchase of the bike on the ownership thread that too by quoting the entire message.
There are different means like PMs/VMs etc. Would really appreciate if the ownership thread is kept clean.

KTM DIY event in Bangalore
i attended the diy session held here yesterday ..
-- the guy from ktm told me that we can replace the horn as long as the diameter of the new horn does not exceed 82mm .. it strictly has to be a single horn..the current stock horn is 72mm.
-- he also told that ktm is currently working on optional rear sprocket which will reduce its acceleration and increase its top speed .. will be helpful for tourers as the bike will feel relaxed at high speeds .. expect a top speed in range of 145-150 .. i would rather want to have a bigger rear sprocket which would decrease the top speed and increase the acceleration even more ...
-- he took a lot of feedbacks from owners and i told him that it would be better to have clutch and brake levers in alluminium for a sporty bike ( he replied "feedback taken") ..
then i also told him about the need to have a full tyre hugger atleast for monsoons for which he replied "feedback taken"...
he also told that development of new horn is in final stages and might come with new bikes in a few months time ..sprockets too would come out as optional accessory in a few months time ...

Hi guys, I've just had my radiator fan replaced under warranty and I attribute it to 3 pressure washes this month as the cause unfortunately. Although everything is working perfectly fine now.
Also on a side note My meter console sticker was blown off during my 2nd Service pressure wash :-/ Is there anyone here who has taken off the screen sticker for the console display yet? Is it susceptible to scratches?
In reply to the KTM 350 Duke being a twin cylinder setup...I have a doubt regarding that, because you see the KTM 690 Duke itself has a single cylinder. Now what sense would it make for KTM to make a twin cylinder 350cc engine when they have a single cylinder engine planted on the 690 DUKE? It could well be possible that they might retro fit the engine from the KTM 350 FreeRide onto the existing trellis frame. But then again, Rajiv Bajaj did say there was going to be a 350cc twin cylinder Pulsar in the future, which means it would have to be made for a KTM product as well...only time will tell.Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.
