In reply to the KTM 350 Duke being a twin cylinder setup...I have a doubt regarding that, because you see the KTM 690 Duke itself has a single cylinder. Now what sense would it make for KTM to make a twin cylinder 350cc engine when they have a single cylinder engine planted on the 690 DUKE? It could well be possible that they might retro fit the engine from the KTM 350 FreeRide onto the existing trellis frame. But then again, Rajiv Bajaj did say there was going to be a 350cc twin cylinder Pulsar in the future, which means it would have to be made for a KTM product as well...only time will tell.
i think that twin cylinder will be put on the upcoming ktm moto3 replica bike and shared with pulsar....
BTW, i read this in a website about ktm... I am pasting it over here... Here it is:
    KTM Moto3 250 GPR (Production Racer 2013)
    Engine: Single cylinder, DOHC
    Cooling: Liquid cooled
    Power: 50PS at 13,500 rpm
Brakes front/rear: Brembo Radial caliper, 290 / 190 mm single disc
    Tires front/rear: Dunlop 95/70-17 / 115/70-17
    Silencer: Akrapovic Full Titanium System
    Dry weight: 83kg
    Fuel Tank: 11liters

    • Front inverted fork protection.

wondering if there are front fork covers available for ktm Duke 200 .
they would protect from the dirt particles and mud and thus chances of past seal leakage miggt reduce....i saw them a lot used on dirt bikes that too of Ktm's.
Is it available in ktm aftermarket upgrade list.
      where else can i get.

      • Rear shocker bottoming out

Has anyone ever felt the rear shock bottoming out. I am very light weight (<60kg), and was feeling that the rear shocks were bottoming out or about to bottom out for last couple of days (riding solo). Then on Sunday, I went out with a pillion (<70g) and rode over an indentation about 2inch deep at about 65-70km. I felt the rear shock bottoming out very hard. Can anybody tell me what could be done. The shock is at the factory setting, 3rd notch. Will adjusting the notches help or could it be some other problem.

How can I check and make sure that the shock is ok and not damaged any ideas??

Wow you had the sticker on for 6000km. The first thing I did coming out of the showroom was to tear off any plastic covering I could find.
To answer your question the clear plastic will get scratched if you try to clean it with a dirty cloth, which is what happened to mine, but it does not bother me.

i like the suspensions to be hard so i got my duke's rear suspension set up hard .. i dont like it if the rear of the bike comes down as soon as a pillion sits behind ..
i too removed the screen guard of the console ..
u can take it to a car sunfilm shop and get a transparent sunfilm applied to the console if you want to avoid scratches..

It's great to see not many people here are as particular as I am about the console screen guard :-D But thanks for the idea Rohan200ns!!! I was going to pick up a laptop screen guard and jjust cut out the shape of the screen and do it that way.
Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

            • Hi xbhpians!!
I am glad to announce that Today marks a special day in my life as it marks my day as a proud owner of The Orange monster.

would like to share a photo taken at the Store In Parel Mumbai!

Well After a wait of 11 Days I finally got my hands on her!!
After completing all document related formality and had a good look at the bike and the bike was as i anticipated it to be!! The store Guy Nimesh was really Helpful and courteous!! and seemed to be as Happy as me!!

I got the keys and fired the engine and the journey begins.
Took a longer route for home and also famous Ganesh Temple in the city as a Gratitude towards God!!

Time of ride: 7PM TO 9 PM
              Distance Traveled: 40 Kilometers
Road condition: 70% Traffic and the rest non congested city road.
Weather: Dry to drizzle and medium rains.

The following was my experience I would like to share.
1] Engine had a crisp and fiery roar!!
2]The odeo meter showed 52 Kilometers, Is it because the distance of the RTO office and show room??
3] Maneuvering/ U turns in Traffic and low speed specially on the second gear stalled the engine on a lot of instance, is it that I need to wait to get used to it?
4] Head Light and Pass lights are really powerful!!
5]Throttle response, handling and braking Outstanding!!
6]Display was very friendly need to get used to it, will go through the manual.
7]Unknowingly I crossed 7500 RPM Mark on second and third gear couple of times, and the engine roar was out of the world!! for a 200 CC bike.
8] Grip and handling on wet surface seemed to be good, need to cross 200 Kilometer mark for more grip related experience.
9] Did a Pillion as well, was uncomfortable for a 6 footer healthy built guy like me, but who cares such machines are great for solo rides!
10]Cornering and turns still haven't exploited so will wait for time.
11] Shock ups are too hard and not the best for our roads filled with pot holes.

              CHEERS!!
              RIDE SAFE!!

mines bottomed only once, its a 6 inch pothole after a speed breaker.total weight 130kg. It happened when i set suspension harder may be thats why it has less travel.
Got one question which setting is less prone to bottoming, soft(more travel)/hard(less travel)?
For 2 inch pits, solo if its bottoming, get it checked

Yes,its something you need to get used to.you may have to use clutch for U-turns. Upto 2.5k rpm i feel,FI is snatchy.

first of all , suspension travel is same for any setting .. its just that it takes more weight for the suspension to travel deeper at the hard setting .. it is better to have a hard setting as it helps cornerning and will not bottom out with a heavy pillion ..
this bike is not meant to be ridden below 2000rpm .. it is the characteristic of a short stroke fi motor ..

laptop screen guard wont fit as the surface of the screen is not exactly flat...

Lower fork slider protectors, like the ones in that picture, will prevent gravel/sand from collecting on the fork lowers and damaging the fork seals. USD forks are particularly vulnerable to this, and the amount of debris on Indian roads makes the problem worse. However, I would recommend using something like this:

These are neoprene tubes that fit over the joint between the fork outers and inners, and help to keep dirt and debris from getting to the seals. These came from Fox | One Industries | Sidi | Oakley | Shoei | Leatt | KTM Parts | Motocross MX and if anyone has any contact with KTM coming up, please beg and plead with them to make these available here. Here's a pic that shows these on a bike:
