The main problem, there was a crack where screws are connected. Only one side. It was not visible at all because of the shape it is designed.
Dang! Do you have any pictures showing the location of the crack ?
Was it on the clutch cover of the engine case itself ? How did they fix it? Replaced it with another clutch cover?
crack could be either due to over tightening (i wont be surprised since some of these mechanics go full blast with their power tools, and i always request them to use regular hand tools) or poor quality. Some pictures would help man! you are yet to post a single pic on this issue

Check if the hose is cracked, the hose clamp damaged or if the thermostat itself has gone bad. Get it checked at the dealer.. they can also do a pressure test on the radiator to see if it is holding the right pressure.
The thermostat is what controls the coolant flow cycle from radiator-engine-radiator. When the engine is cold it is 'closed' so only the coolant already in the engine jackets circulates by-passing the radiator. At a certain temp it opens and lets the coolant flow in to the radiator to cool and pumps 'cooler' coolant back in to the engine.
      Thanks s1d,

From what i had observed, the temperature of my bike based on the console always maintains 2 bars below the H mark or just 8 bars ever since, so i presume the coolant is circulating well enough, but i agree with you, i will have to get it check, and by the way, the way i judged the rate of my coolant loss is it takes more or less a month for a middle mark of min to max in the compensating tank to reach min mark, and i'am keeping my eye on that always, could i just put some sealant(e.g. silicon sealant) for the mean time? since this part is kinda hard to find in here?or maybe a replacement compatible part?maybe the pulsar 200ns thermostat unit?

For temporary solution, you could go ahead and use M-Seal on the hose to arrest coolant leakage.

        Cheers

          Thanks Srvn,

Forgive me for my ignorance about M-Seal, because i dont see it here in the Philippines, is this a silicone sealant or a gasket maker?

            Pardon, It is neither.

M-Seal is two component epoxy putty having adhesive properties and resistance to chemicals. M-seal used for sealing, joining, repairing and insulating ferrous and non ferrous metals, glass, asbestos, concrete, ceramics, etc. Commonly used for sealing leakage in overhead/ flush tanks, pipes. For filling small holes and to secure wall plugs and so on.

You could find a similar product in Philippines and try with it.

            Cheers

Pardon my ignorance.. i've never counted the number of bars, but on my D200 it is always 2 bars less than the max on the lower segment of the coolant temp gauge. It has never entered the top little segment to this date (almost 2.5 yrs/28k km, and used in two summers where temps here exceed 40 C constantly)
Also I've never had any coolant loss, almost negligent (maybe a bit due to evaporation).

I can't say for sure if you can use something like a sealant without looking at the damage. So maybe yes, as another user pointed out maybe you could try some silicone sealant or an epoxy type adhesive if it helps.

Am not sure if the thermostat of a 200ns will fit on the d200 or if it is of same rating.
don't you have a ktm dealer in your town ?

i think if i base the condition of my cooling system with you, i can say that mine just work the same as yours, my bike maintains the same temperature reading as yours, i guess i'm not having trouble aside from its little leak? i'll just have to settle for a temporary fix right now, because even though we have 3 dealers in our place right now, the part is out of stock right now.

Took delivery of my MY2017 Duke 200 White today.
                    Her name's Gisele.

She's still on a TC plate. Registration will take about a week.

Did a complete PDI along with the service manager at KTM Chinchwad. Very cooperative people.
Got the coolant topped up. Came with 3 litres of fuel. Filled her up with Shell V Power (They didn't have regular, I don't mind the extra cost)
Got the KTM body cover FOC.
New graphics grabbing eyeballs for days
Too many people pointing out the AHO

Gisele at home. Puja all done. 20kms on the ODO.

Running her in the way I'll be riding. Smooth throttle and brake inputs (I mostly use the front 90% of the time). Gear changes at 7500. Varying RPMs and working the gearbox.

Looking forward to many miles and smiles with her
                    More photos to follow soon

                    Cheers y'all

Definitely does look smashing in the new sticker and rim paint scheme !
Ideally most of the time try to shift up at around 6000rpm.. Keep the 7500 to a few times.

                        Quick question,

Has anyone fitted a touring windscreen to their Duke? If yes, where could I source it in Pune and how much does it cost? (Windscreen + Installation mind you)

                        Thanks in advance

                        Cheers

If you are interested in a juggad you could try something like this: (search around and you will find more such solutions)

Congratulations bro. I got mine a few days back. Just waiting on a plate now. Damn RTO taking a week with the online process.

Also quick question, what happens if I can't give the Duke for its first service within 30 days of the invoice? ( I want to run it to about 800-850 km and won't be able to by the date)

The dealer said I could drop in within 45 days of the invoice, otherwise I'd lose my first free service coupon. But he wasn't very convincing.

Do I void the warranty? Or just lose one service, or all my free services?

                                Thanks in advance.
