Just my point of view and experience
Ya for highway driving I would choose a full face helmet, but surprisingly this helmet is doing just fine. Haven't experienced movement due to the snug fit and clubbed with goggles it a pretty awesome wear. For the city it's pretty sexy!

And for people like me who wear glasses, we don't really have an alternative as I face fogging issue with full faces helmet which gets worse when it rains

Planning to top up my Duke once the first service is done, will update my experience and see if this open faced helmet can perform at high speeds!

    • I am not a Duke owner but I did notice one thing in that bike. Whenever the rider pulls the clutch to change gears, the lower part of the tail light goes off and as soon as he releases the clutch, the light comes back. It actually looks cool! But is it just a cool feature or is it functional?

Nah, i never faced fogging issues with my Daijya helmet, i guess it depends on the intakes and all.
But do try it on high speeds and share your experience. Cheers! ride safe.

Yes I am talking about the second set of the leds in the brake it. Even I noticed it yesterday itself on a Duke on road.

Ya but for that, you have to let someone else ride your bike! :P

Also I hope everyone here realizes that once the warranty is over we're all pretty much screwed coz when these parts start to die down nobody's gonna back you and Bajaj will wash its hands clean off the whole situation unless you pay up that is. Not very confidence inspiring nope...so reach out to your service managers and ask them if there's a solution to this medley of poorly manufactured parts vital ones that too...hopefully Bajaj will pull up its socks. Perhaps another thousand emails singing the same tune will boot them into jumping into their think tanks.
Buddy if you are getting your console replaced due to the moisture issue then you are in for a surprise ,the new one still has the same issue and this supposedly is the enhanced version (its marked with 4* if i remember correctly) ,I got my replaced a few days back and within couple of hours ,the moisture came back.So giving you a heads up.But now that its not raining in Mumbai you might not observe the issue right away.

Well to begin with the Radiator Fan stopped functioning and at the same time or maybe a week before that the console stopped showing me ready to race and side stand down and all the other useful pieces of information when you press the SET button. So as a result of this the High Coolant Temperature Warning couldn't be seen either. But since I know my Duke inside out now, I saw the temp bars go above and beyond the max indicated level and this happened twice. It was then that I realized the fan wasn't working!!! So got all this rectified today but the latest post I read here says that the new console still fogs up :-/ But since the rains aren't here (i hope) that much anymore it's not gonna be a cause for concern. I wish I knew what kept making the fan stop so We could fix it ourselves, I am tempted to modify the fan like make a larger one with even more angled fins to really pull the air to the engine. It could be a good project but I don't know diddly squat about electronics ;-p

Noted bro. I did hear this from a manager but I really "had" to replace it with whatever version they had available coz I couldn't see the Console Warnings like Low Fuel and High Coolant Temperature and Low Oil Pressure etc. So it was a hazard to the engine to keep running the bike that way. Also is it just me or do I hear those valves making more sound than usual? And maybe a timing chain sound??? Damn this bike is taking all of my attention!!!

It is possible to buy them that way, and many people do replace both at the same time since it's not that much extra work, but plenty of places sell just the chain or just the sprocket (and even separate front and rear sprockets) separately.
well my duke went through 4 chain slack adjustments under 1200kms. Its a little more than normally what happens in other bikes. I also believe that the big rear sprocket 43T i guess produces a healthy leverage and torque which tends to loosen the chain quite frequently. Its correct that chain set as a whole including sprocket doesnt requires a change....chain can be chainged undivizually as the life of sprockets is more. This early 'replacement' of the chain may come as a shock to many duke owners so will to me when my requires replacement.
                            So what im thinking is
                            1) how do i get to know the chain requires replacement??
                            2) Z-ring ones i saw in powerparts list, would that be a nice mod? Though would cost a lil more. But would that wear off too??
                            3) Would regular cleaning and servicing my chain once a week be able to increase the chain's life by a nice margin.??(i ride easy n calm...no short geared high rpm bursts or shifting down @90kph to 5th gear etc..i try to keep it under 6-7000 rpms .chain is subjected to calm driving style)
                            4) Does bajaj have installed few of their products on duke?? Grips and switchgears seem to be so...and i dont like them. Also i think if chain etc stuff is compiled by Bajaj. I already hate that ecu diagnostic tool of bajajs...i doubt is accuracy n working. Also i read the ecu flashing thing going on...ill try it doesnt happens on my duke.

On the contrary mines still holding good, Survived downpours although Bajaj/KTM engineer said they still testing new consoles and told me to give the feedback. While the paint on the my second rear suspension started peeling off again.

                              • Guys just found this out at the SVC after I was having troubles with the chain snapping when I rode in first to second gear in traffic I would get this weird sound like the chain was slipping so I asked about the cost of the chain and sprockets at the SVC...

                                Rear Sprocket (43Tooth) price >> Rs.792
                                Front Sprocket >>Rs.292 approx.
                                Drive Chain>>Rs. 958

So don't worry if your chain is eating up the sprockets or itself...it's very reasonable to replace.
