    • u just need to remove two bolts near the ignition key holder and
on the sides of the fairing ull have two black rivets kind of things on either sides u just need to push the rivets in center and then pull those rivets out and thats it the headlights comes down
and if u want to completely remove the headlight
after removing the screws and when the headlight swings down , ull have two places attached with clips
just remove those clips and then the whole assembly will come out

u can get the wp stickers done by any local stickering shop guy

and got a custom made KTM logo key chain also which is made from 4mm thick sheet
here are the images of the WP and My new KTM keychain

KTM introduces two new colours for the Duke 200!
Since everything else is black in the orange duke, anyone who wants the other color can just replace the existing tank cover and rear plastic(whats the name for it ?). I dont think it will cost much. But such a change should be updated in the RC book !

Any idea how much those will cost ?

            • I am happy with my bike....

No new colors needed- Orange/black makes this bike the naked aggression it is.
No ECU flash or Remap- I love the snatchiness - gives the feel of a sportsbike for real and I love the way leaves the likes of Merc GL class behind to 100 kmph.

If I had been in UK I wud have had Suzuki GSR750 for the city.........but I am in India and I have the Duke 200 - very happy with it.

My humble opinion is that you try fitting a 40T from Karizma and overgear your bike, instead of undergearing it.

Think about it: You will reach 100 kmph in 4th gear & 60 kmph in 2nd gear, instead of 5th gear & 3rd gear of a stock KTM (right now). So, 0-100 & 0-60 might not be affected at all, considering that gearshifts take up enough time.

If KTM Duke would've had a 42 or 41 teeth sprocket, I believe in either one of these combinations, it can post better 0-60 and 0-100 figures than its rival, a 25 bhp 250cc Honda.

                --
Still, for undergearing Duke, these are the pros and cons: Pros:

                1. Good acceleration, easy redlining in all gears (Er.. well, that happens with a stock Duke too.)
                2. You will not need to shift gears that much within the city. And City mileage might get better.
                3. Doing Wheelies will get easier.

                Cons:

                1. You may need more & more gearshifts to reach a certain speed. Imagine needing to shift to 6th gear to touch 110 kmph. In general riding without being enthusiastic, this might only slow you down,
                2. Highway mileage will definitely decrease. Tank range for touring will also decrease (!!),
                3. It might also get noisier & stressed on highways, at a particular speed, compared to stock setup,

                • Got my first "free" service done today at Auto Service, Banashankari.

The free service cost me Rs. 1618, Breakup as follows :
                  Oil Filter : 65.77
                  Motul 300V : 1205.33
                  3M wax polish : 34.84
                  Lube o ring chain : 75.00
                  Consumable : 40.00
                  Taxes : 197.87

In a sharp contrast to some other owners' experience, where the service managers told them that using Motul 300V (or any a 15W50 oil) will void the warranty, my service manager said that he would recommend Motul 300V over others (and gave me a choice between motul 7100, bajaj dtsi 10000 and motul 300V). I opted for it, although i didn't feel anything obviously different after the oil change to 300V.

The chain was tightened up at the service and didn't make any noise at all on the way back. I specifically mentioned to not remap the ECU to the new one, so it's still the same, which keeps me happy.

thanks samarth!! that was really helpful! I want to know which 'T' sprocket comes with the stock Duke. and if i am changing the chain, do i have to change both the sprockets? well, logic says yes i have to but still confirming!!

                      Comment

                      • Its always advisable to change the both sprocket along with the chain, because if you leave one sprocket there and change only the other one, it will cause premature wear and tear of the newly changed sprocket and the chain slackness will be needed to be adjusted very often, as the chain will be tight at some spots and loose at some other spot, its a very annoying situation to be at and will result in you changing the chain-sprocket set again, which is a costly affair.

                        Cheers

KTM Duke comes with a 14 teeth front sprocket, and 43 teeth rear sprocket, and quite a long chain with 118 links, all on .520 chain pitch.

Yes, you should change all sprockets & the chain together only, because a worn sprocket damages/wears-out the chain, and vice versa too. "Chain bani, Sprocket baney, ek dujey ke liye." and hence it is better to change them together. However, If your bike has run only 500-600 kms or so, then you can try fitting a new sprocket with the older chain setup.

Karizma has a 108 link chain on the same .520 pitch, but you can't increase links to it in ordinary circumstances. That's 10 less links than stock 118 links, so that's out of question. I'm afraid it might be a costly affair overall. Read on...

The setup I imagine is: Only Karizma's rear sprocket, with Duke's existing chain and front sprocket.
Try getting Karizma's & Duke's new Chain sprocket kits, if you can't get components separately. Then, after fitting it, make adjustments to the chain so its tight enough.

And it would be better to continue such discussions here: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...sprockets.html

                              • Hi. Im going to buy a used duke in the next couple of days. So is there anything specific to watch out for with regard to a duke. The bike ive seen has done 8k kms and is 6'months old.comes with a Leo Vince Gp style exhaust. Its in good shape except for a leaking right fork seal.
The asking price is 1.25 lakh. is this a reasonable price?
Pls let me know about these things.
                                Thanks
