So there was this second hand bike shop right next to MXSMotoSport where i had gone to get the work done i saw the duke for the first time in flesh. There was a CBR 250R / a Ninja 250 / Yamaha R15 V2.0 but the duke was looking totally different from the rest of the pack.

It was looking totally an alien from another world, i think because of its color / body frame and headlight (which according to me is the best part i like on this bike, i had even thought of getting its headlight assembly for my bike.

I could be wrong or it is just my imagination but i felt that the tyre size was a bit smaller when compared to other bikes.

I couldnt get my eyes of it and was totally in love with the sheer looks. No matter how hard i try this is one bike which i will not be able to buy at least for the moment.

Hence my heartiest congratulations to all those who own it.

This bike was available for Rs 1.2 lacs at this shop. It even had the protective sticker on the console.
The duke tyres are fattest(150 section). But the profile is rounder, whereas the CBR(140) , FZ(140) etc have flatter profiles so they appear wider.

Mines took its first overflow 2days back, partly because of the wire mesh radiator guard i installed and because the way my friend ripped my bike ,
When engine is hot the coolant expands, when it hits above the max mark it overflows ,
Thanks Vidy, But why was the coolant overflow pipe is designed to spill the excess/hot coolant on the bike itself(Mostly spills on tank's inner part where the overflow pipe is present next to coolant tank, from there it flows to the radiator side guard).

      • Duke Exhaust System

        Hello guys..

been doing some research to the Duke's exhaust system.
I'm planning to make a custom mid-pipe, so the Duke can "breathe" more without the cat
I'm hoping with this project I'll get more power from the Duke, and of course great sound from it

I will update my project on Saturday

u sure that ur coolant level is between max and min mark ?
even i have the mesh over the radiator and even after ripping it and two bars below cut off when the fan is spinning it was fine for me there was no coolant leak

my coolant was between min and max mark

they can albeit they have to be athletic enough to compete in Olympics

on a serious note, it caan be managed but its not designed for single sided seating hence you have to provide lots of help as well as it will not be comfortable as the pillion seat size is not good enough for Indian posteriors though better then r15 2.0 by a huge margin.
there is mod of rear seat in this thread somewhere which does looks lot more comfortable although due to seat height still not practical for saree clad women.

@ Stanley mirror mods as well as carbon fibre look alike decals looks class apart then regular stickers , great work Mate.
i am eagerly waiting for your exhaust pipe mods as i intend to do it as well, it should certainly ass some power and will better the exhaust note

                            • Fantastic Thread

Folks, I think this is a fantastic thread with wealth of information!! Few other threads on ownership are just "ownership" threads and there is hardly any technical discussion there. Just Congratulations message and not so good photographs!

When engine is cold ,earlier it was exactly in between the max and min mark. Now its like 60:40 closer to minimum mark, when coolant spilled mines 1 bar left in the C band,BTW that was a hot sunny day and duke ridden for 4hrs at 100+ speeds .

I heard coolant overflow is normal and continues until it settles at its comfortable level. so im not topping up until falls below the min mark.
